“For what, honey?” Marjorie said, turning back to her.
“The website, for taking the plunge with your idea.”
“Oh, Cassie, even if you are the only one to ever find a mate on there, it’s been worth it.” Marjorie turned to look at Rhianna. “Although I have my heart set on getting this one sorted too.”
“Sorted? You make me sound like a messy closet.”
“Not today, Rhianna, you look beautiful too. Maybe Mr. Right will be at the wedding, and as the maid of honor, you’re bound to catch someone’s eye.”
Rhianna frowned, and Cassie giggled nervously, but Marjorie was right, it would be wonderful for Rhianna to find the man of her dreams too. Cassie would never have thought it before, because she had always valued her independence, but now, she wished everyone felt the same way as she did.
The drive through Bear Bluff to the church took five long minutes, but finally she was there, ready to marry her bear.
“Well.” Her dad took her arm and patted her hand. “Let’s go, your mom will be waiting and fussing if we’re not there on time, and I’m sure Logan wants to get this over with.”
“Thanks,” she teased.
“You know what I mean. It’s tough standing and waiting for your bride to walk down the aisle.”
“At least he doesn’t have to walk down the aisle in these shoes. I’m still worried I’m going to fall over.”
“Not when I have hold of you, Cassie.” Her dad smiled and then kissed her cheek. “Be happy, my beautiful daughter.”
“I will, Dad.”
And when she saw Logan waiting for her, she knew this would be the happiest day of her life, but that the rest of their lives would be filled with love and laughter.
Walking down the aisle, she looked at all the happy faces staring back at her, seeing their smiles, and her heart filled to bursting. Even the cameras, taking pictures of the first Fated and Mated happy ever after, didn’t faze her. She wanted to tell the world to get on the website and find their mate, so they could be as happy as she was.
When she reached the front, her mom was there, sitting next to her brothers, a tissue already dabbing her eyes. And then her father was passing her hand over to Logan, giving her to the man who already owned her heart.
Then next part was surreal. They promised each other they would be faithful and true, like all couples do, yet there was more; it was in his eyes, and Cassie only hoped he could read the same message in hers.
“I do.” Those two words sealed their bond, the rings on their fingers a token of the life they would share together. And then he kissed her. For the first time that day their lips met; they were husband and wife, and as his lips moved against hers, it seemed as if the flowers were more vibrant and the music playing was sweeter.

“I thought I would never want today to end,” she said, as she waited for him to open the door of their hotel room.
“But you do now?” he asked, looking at her over his shoulder.
“The public part.” She blushed, knowing she probably looked bright red next to the white of her dress. “But the private part, that’s the bit I want now.”
He chuckled, and finally opened the door, turning to her and saying, “I know it’s not the threshold.” But still he picked her up and carried her into the hotel room, placing her on her feet by the side of the bed.
“Right, where do I start?”
“My dress, it has a bodice.” She indicated the back, where it was laced up.
“Oh, I’ve been noticing that bodice all day and wondering when I was going to be able to free your luscious breasts. Or should I say my luscious breasts, now you’re mine officially.” His fingers trembled as he tried to hurry. Feet over the side of the bed, he reached for a T-shirt, and pulled it on before going to the closet and getting out a clean pair of jeans. This beat a suit any day of the week. Standing, he walked quietly out, and headed do
wn the hallway and into the next room.
“So you’re awake too, Jack,” he said quietly, and went to the crib where his son was lying, his eyes unfocused as they tried to make out the face of his father.
Logan bent down and lifted him up, wrapping him in a blanket against the chill morning air, and taking him downstairs to the kitchen.
“Let’s make Mommy some breakfast, shall we, and then she can feed you.” He managed to hold his son in one arm, balanced on his hip, while accomplishing the task of a tray of tea and toast. “Right, now we have to work out how we are going to get you and Mommy’s breakfast back upstairs.”
But as he said that, he looked up to see his wife standing in the doorway, looking radiant. “What are my two favorite men doing?”
She came in, opening her arms, and he passed her the baby. “We were trying to spoil you.”
Kissing him on the cheek, she said, “You already do.” She kissed Jack, and then said, “Shall we eat outside? It’s a bit cold, but I want to look at the forest while we eat, and I feed Jack.”
“Sure.” It was her favorite place since they had moved back to Bear Bluff over nine months ago, and he couldn’t blame her: it was the most amazing way to wake up.
“I thought we could go over the day ahead too. I have a virtual meeting at ten, and then I have about four hours of work to do.”
He came and put his arms around his small family, and sighed, “It’s so much better when a business meeting doesn’t involve leaving the house.”
“No regrets?” she asked.
“None. Ever.” And they headed outside to eat, and enjoy the clean mountain air.
