“I’m glad. This will only be a one-time thing. Not much longer from now, a shipment from a notorious dealer is coming into the docks. As soon as we get that shipment, we store it in the shelter then move it. Just one sale will be enough for every Demon to be living the rest of their lives in luxury. You included.”
“When is all this happening?”
“Less than a few weeks. I’ll be putting the finishing touches on the deal as soon as I’m out.”
The guard came in. “Time’s up. Let’s go!”
Leon moved back over to his bed and took a seat. I stared at him as he closed his eyes and returned to meditating.
A few weeks. I didn’t have much time. But if I was gonna put a stop to this, I couldn’t do it alone.
Chapter 20
CADE
I took a sip of my beer then let out a deep sigh. Just a taste of the alcohol on my tongue was enough to make me smile like I couldn’t remember.
I set the bottle down on my dresser then took a seat on the edge of my bed. In nothing but my briefs, I laid down and put my hands behind my head. The comforts of my room in the back of Brickstone were always inviting but after a week in jail, I realized just how grateful I should be.
It was a regular night at the bar. I could hear the music coming through the walls. Bryce was probably getting everybody riled up so they would drink more. It didn’t bother me though. Hearing the music from inside the bar was better than the silence of my jail cell.
I closed my eyes and just started to drift off to sleep when there was a knock at my door.
“Come in.”
The door opened up and I saw Brock standing there. He looked just as I remembered him. A pair of jeans and a dirty pair of sneakers. Messy brown hair and a beard that made him look more ruggedly handsome than usual. But his white shirt was a little tighter around his stomach, a noticeable swelling poking his belly out.
I sat up and he quickly walked over to me. We didn’t say anything as he fell into my lap. Our arms wrapped around one another. Our lips tangled in a messy kiss. If there was one thing more satisfying than a beer and a bed to sleep on, it was being with him.
“How are you?” he asked.
I chuckled and shook my head. “Jail isn’t something I plan on but it’s nothing I can’t handle. I can do a week standing on my head.”
“I’m glad…”
“How about you? Is everything all right?” I lowered a hand down and put it on his stomach. I felt the firm muscles of his belly underneath the fabric of his shirt. I knew he was pregnant but it was still amazing to think about.
“The doctor says everything is fine. I’m all set for delivery in less than three weeks.”
“Three weeks…” I swallowed anxiously. No man could ever properly prepare for fatherhood. It wouldn’t be easy. I didn’t bother hiding the concerns I had.
But when I looked into Brock’s eyes, he wasn’t concerned the same as I was. There was something else bothering him and I already knew what it was.
“Leon… The Demons… I can’t imagine he’s too happy with you.”
“Leon is loyal to every man in his crew. I… I’m loyal to him, too. You know I am.”
“I won’t ask you to take sides, Brock. But if things keep up, something is gonna happen. I can’t promise you anything other than that I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe.”
“It’s not our clubs getting into it that I’m worried about.” He got up from my lap and turned his back to me. His anxiety was obvious from the way he stared at his hands, his fingers nervously twiddling. “Leon is up to something.”
“I’m not surprised about that.”
“He’s opening a shelter.”
“A shelter? Wait, am I hearing you right?”
“The shelter’s just a front. He’s got a big shipment coming in from the docks next week. He’s planning on using the shelter as a guise to store the product until he sells it. With the money he makes, he says it’ll be enough for every member of the Demons to live comfortably. Even me.”
I got up from my seat and put my hands on his shoulders. It was always strange to see someone so strong and tough trembling so nervously. After everything we’d been through, I’d never seen this kind of worry from him before.
“He trusts me, Cade. He knows I can’t go to the police and tell him what he’s doing. I… I—”
“I would never tell you not to be loyal to your own crew. Hell, the last thing I want to deal with is the police. That’s not how we do things around here.”
“I don’t… I don’t wanna turn Leon in. He was always there for me when no one else was. He’s family. But this is a mistake. This is bigger than the races and the fights. If he gets caught, every one of the Demons will get locked up. With how things are going in the West Bay, I don’t think they’ll be lenient with him. Dammit… I just… I just wish there was a way to make him see.”
“You can’t talk to him?”
“I can talk to him but I don’t think it’d do anything. Leon’s been planning this ever since we came to the West Bay. Some scheme to get every member in a good position. This is it.”
He turned around and wrapped his arms around me. I held him close, trying to calm him from trembling.
It pissed me off there was nothing I could do. I couldn’t think of anything. But that didn’t matter. Nothing would stop me from comforting Brock like I knew I had to.
“Don’t worry,” I whispered into his ear. “I’ll figure this out.”
“What? How can you—”
“Shh…” I pulled away and put a finger on his lips. “I just spent a week in jail. All I wanted was to see you again. Let’s not worry about anything else right now. Let’s just… be together… tonight.”
The worry in his eyes slowly disappeared. I leaned forward and kissed him, removing whatever lingering doubts he might have had. Just like that, all of the stress on both of our shoulders was gone.
I reached down and pulled his shirt up over his head, unveiling his swollen stomach underneath. I sat on the edge of the bed and put a palm gently on him. I caressed his soft skin, enjoying the feeling of the muscled bulge.
My hands moved down toward his jeans. I undid his zipper and pulled his jeans and underwear down all in one movement. His cock was stiff, pointed right at me.
I looked at him for a second before moving forward and wrapping him in my lips.
“Cade…” He moaned softly, putting his hands on my shoulders to brace himself. The taste of his rigid flesh made my mouth water.
I worked my neck back and forth faster and faster, taking him down into my throat.
“Cade…” His knees buckled. His grip tightened around my shoulders.
I reached around him and squeezed the firm muscles of his ass. His whole body started to tense up. I tasted a trickle of his seed. It only made me want even more of him.
“I’m gonna… I’m already gonna…. Cade…” He moaned again as his whole body started to jerk. It was followed by his cock throbbing between my lips. I swallowed down the soft pulses of his cum splashing on my tongue. Tasting Brock after a week in jail was like finding an oasis in the desert.
I kept my mouth on him until he went flaccid. He pulled out of me, his hands moving toward my chest.
“Lay back… It’s your turn.”
I wasn’t about to protest his instructions. I kept my stare locked on those deep brown eyes of his as I climbed on the bed. He didn’t blink as his hands moved over my briefs. My stiff cock was poking through my underwear and when he pulled them away, it was a relief to no longer be restrained.
He straddled me. One leg on each side of me, Brock lowered himself down. The warmth of his entrance was enough to make me twitch. He moved down lower and his wetness made my cock pulse again.
“I can’t…” I gripped his hips and thrust up into him, plunging myself completely. His jaw dropped and a moan escaped a moment later.
I sat up straight and found his tongue with mine. Mes
sy kisses filled my room, drowning out the music coming from inside the bar. The bed squeaked underneath us, forced to move to the rhythm of our bodies colliding.
The Demons. The Chargers. Two bikers on opposite sides. None of that mattered. Now we were just two men, slamming our bodies together and creating a bond.
I wrapped my arms around him and enjoyed his sweaty, muscled skin pressing against me. I brought him in close as we moaned into each other’s mouth. My cock kept rifling into his ass. Wet flesh smacking together got even messier when even more fluids dripped out of him.
I was throbbing hard at this point. Nothing could stop me from losing myself. I saw the edge in sight, every drop of my seed building up inside of me.
I pulled away just enough to look into his eyes.
“Brock…”
The intensity in his stare was too much. Breathing hard, all I could get out was his name before I let my orgasm crash into me. I squeezed my arms around him as I came. Thick pulses of cum fired from my tip and filled his insides. He tightened around me, his wet warmth engulfing me completely as I throbbed.
I let myself go, wanting to fill him completely until my body was spent.
We collapsed on the bed together. He rested his head on my chest as we both recovered from our exhaustion.
I closed my eyes. Enough of my desire for him left me to realize what I had to do. I didn’t know what the plan was but I was never more confident I’d get something done.
“What am I gonna do, Cade?”
“Don’t worry.” I ran my fingers through his hair and massaged his scalp to calm him. “I’ll figure something out.”
Chapter 21
CADE
I sat at the head of the table in the meeting room. The rest of the Chargers started to file in to take their usual spots. Everybody was in as good of a mood as they could be in, given the circumstances.
A few days had passed since I got the information from Brock. The beef between the Chargers and the Demons wasn’t settled but it wouldn’t be long until it was.
“All right,” I said. “What have you got?”
“Just did a pass through the neighborhood,” Sean said. “It’s just like Brock mentioned. A new shelter opened up a few miles from here.”
“How is it?”
“Looks legit from what I can see. People are lining up to get inside. They’re getting clothes. They’re getting food. You can’t open up a shelter without getting all the proper licenses, so they’ve got all their paperwork.”
“Even if they weren’t, the city wouldn’t bother shutting them down,” Tristan said. “The West Bay needs a place like that.”
“With a group like the Demons running it, Kennedy will be keeping a close eye on them,” Kellen added. “If they’re up to something shady, they’re gonna have to keep it under wraps.”
“Damn…” I shook my head and sighed. “It looks like Leon told Brock the truth about opening up a shelter. Now there’s just the matter of figuring out what they’re up to now.”
“I talked to some people,” Kellen said. “There aren’t many dealers around these parts as before but they’re around. Word on the street is there’s a man named Mato coming to town. Says he’s got a big shipment coming in through the docks. He’s paying everything he can to make sure the people who are working there on the night of the shipment keep their mouths shut.”
“Brock mentioned it’d be a quick sell,” I said. “Leon would get rid of Mato’s product as quick as he can. Once it’s out on the streets, there’s no way we’ll be able to reel it all back in.”
“What’s the deal?” Tristan shrugged but everybody else wasn’t as enthusiastic as he was. “We know what Leon’s up to. We got a name with Mato. We got a date and a time. We give Kennedy all the information we got and let him sort this out. That’ll solve all of our problems.”
“That’d be one way,” I sighed. “But I’m not about to let Kennedy solve a problem that we can’t handle ourselves. This is Charger territory. I’m not about to make Kennedy do everything for me. Besides, that’s not what we want.”
“What are you talking about? Aren’t we trying to stop all of this from going down?”
Everybody around the table stared at me. I’d been racking my brain for days trying to figure out a way to get Brock out of his situation. I hadn’t come up with many answers even though the day was coming.
“The Demons are exactly who we think they are,” I said. “With a man like Leon in charge, they’re always up to something. But that doesn’t mean the man doesn’t have any morals. He’s got a code. Up to this point, he’s kept his word. He put an end to the races. He stopped hosting the fights.”
“And when Kennedy gets wind of this, he’ll get locked up for good—”
“No.” I cut Tristan off. “I’ll never be Leon’s friend but he still kept his word. Even I can see that. The man looked after Brock when Brock was down on his luck. As much as I hate to say it, Brock’s got a bond with him. The same with every other Demon.”
“So, what are you saying?” Sean said. “You want Leon to stop what he’s doing? Something tells me going over to the shelter and trying to have a talk with him will just get both of you a week in jail.”
“There has to be another way. A way to get through to him and stop this… So he can see if he gets caught again, there’s no second chance for him. I’m not gonna sit back and let Brock watch his entire crew, the men he rides with, get locked up.”
I’d explained it the best I could to them. But no man in the room had an answer for me.
I sighed in frustration and closed my eyes. I searched for an answer as best as I could but there was nothing.
“You say Leon is a man with his own set of morals,” Kellen said.
I opened my eyes and looked at the man next to me. “That’s one way of putting it.”
“You’re right. He put an end to the races. He stopped the fights. I don’t know if this will work but there’s a chance we can get through to him.”
“We’re waiting,” Tristan said.
Kellen looked around the table at all of us then leaned forward across the table. “We’re gonna have to do… it.”
I didn’t understand him at first. But the longer I stared at him, the more I realized what he meant.
“Is it the only way—”
“It’s the only way, Cade. Leon might be intimidating but he’s a man. And if he’s a man, he can be intimidated. If he doesn’t though…”
“…He’s going away for a long time. I guess we don’t have much of a choice.”
Every member of the Chargers seemed to be in agreement even though we hadn’t mentioned what we were gonna do.
“We’re with you,” Kellen said.
“You know it,” Sean said.
“This is a chance to deal with the Demons for good,” Zak said.
“I don’t know exactly what you guys are thinking but from the looks on your faces… What the hell? If this is it, this is it.” Tristan smirked and I did the same in response.
“We’ll start setting everything up,” I said. “But I’ll handle it myself. I don’t any of you near this when it goes down.”
“We’ll make sure you’re in position for everything,” Kellen said. “It’s not up to you. It’s up to Leon.”
“Let’s hope he does the right thing,” I sighed.
Chapter 22
CADE
I had the date. I had the time. I had the location. A few days to prepare felt like only a few seconds.
I spent what time I could with Brock but the night came quickly.
It was a calm and peaceful night, though I knew it was gonna be anything but that. The docks were quiet outside of the few lone ships moving in and out. Most of the workers had retired for the day. I enjoyed the peace of the moment for as long as I could.
“You sure about this? Because I’m spending a lot of resources here. If this is some scheme or you’re trying to pull one over on me… I won’t take it ea
sy on you.”
Kennedy raised an eyebrow at me. I could tell he was doing that even though I wasn’t looking at him.
“After all this time, you’re still skeptical of me,” I sighed. “You know I only want what’s best for the West Bay.”
“Hard to believe. I’ve got different sources for intel all over Snow Falls but nobody told me anything about this.”
“That’s because Mato isn’t in Snow Falls. He’s not planning on making much noise.”
“Apparently, he made enough. Curious… How did you find about this?”
I wasn’t about to tell him. Even if we did have a relationship, there was no way I would give him more information than necessary.
“Look,” I sighed. “Dock 21. That’s where they’re coming in. You do a search and you’ll find the product you’re looking for. You gonna make the bust or not?”
He stared at me for a second then raised his walkie-talkie up to his mouth. “Attention all units. Our target is coming into Dock 21. Repeat, our target is headed for Dock Two One. Kennedy out.” He pointed his walkie-talkie at me. “Remember, Cade. If I don’t find anything, it’s your ass—”
“Don’t worry. You’ll find what I told you you’d find. You’d think I’d deal with a cop otherwise?”
“The only reason you would deal with a cop is if you’re up to something.”
“The only thing I’m up to is making sure the streets of my town are clean. Do your job, Kennedy.”
I gave him one last look before heading over to my bike parked off to the side. Just as I revved my engine, I saw the blue and red lights flashing as police cruisers flooded the docks.
Dealing with Kennedy wasn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world but at least it was over. Now I just had to settle the rest of my business.
I sped through the quiet streets of the West Bay. I didn’t have to worry about the cops pulling me over because they were all occupied. I needed every second I could get. If I was late, Leon and the Demons would be heading right into Kennedy’s open arms.
“This must be the place…”
I spotted the abandoned warehouse among all of the derelict buildings. A bunch of bikes parked outside were enough to tell me I was in the right spot.
