"Good morning," she muttered before slipping Kai's cock into her mouth in one fell swoop. He hissed and gritted his teeth. His hands hovered out behind her head like he was fighting the urge to grab her hair and keep her there.

Brock loved watching his mates together but loved it just as much when Kai slid out of her mouth with a pop and she wrapped her lips around him. He was too large for her to swallow in one gulp as she did Kai, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Her tongue swiped along his shaft, driving him crazy.

She established a pattern of sucking, letting her head bob up and down on Brock's cock while her right hand jacked Kai off and then she would switch, letting her left hand slide up and down Brock's huge length as she sucked Kai off.

  She was a goddess.

It might have been her who was on her knees, but it was Brock and Kai who would fall to theirs for her. She handled them with a natural ease, licking and slurping each to the brink. Brock held Kai's hand and turned his head, fiercely kissing his mate. Francesca moaned loudly at the sight of them kissing and doubled her efforts. Kai moaned into Brock's mouth and he swallowed the noise, knowing how close Kai was. He broke the kiss and let his lips fall against Kai's neck, licking and nibbling up to his ear where he bit Kai's earlobe. Kai thrust into Francesca's mouth now, whimpering dirty words about how much he loved both of their mouths on him. He tensed right before he came, Francesca groaning around him as she swallowed every drop. When he had calmed down, she returned her efforts back to Brock. He was already so turned on from watching Kai explode that it didn't take very much effort or time. Francesca's expert mouth had his balls tightening in seconds and as Kai licked and bit his nipple, Brock shot his load into his mate's mouth.

When she allowed his cock to fall out of her mouth, she leaned back on her knees and looked up at them with bright eyes. She wiped her mouth. "I can't wait until you save me again."

  Chapter Twenty-three

  Frannie

Octavio held her in an embrace that made the rest of the world fall away. Esmeralda knew that they were still in the middle of the dance hall, that she was allowing Octavio to touch her in a way that should have been reserved for her husband, whoever that man ended up being, but she couldn't summon the will to make him stop. She didn't want him to stop.

"Why don't Esmeralda and Octavio just run off and get married? Who cares if she is the secret princess? It isn't like her father, the king, really wants her around," Kai asked from across the dining room table. "Her step-mother definitely wants her gone."

Frannie admired Kai from the other side of the table. He'd claimed to have a light workload and had opted to spend the day with her. She worried that writing with him present would be impossible, but he turned out to have a great eye for typos and was an awesome soundboard to bounce ideas off of as they came to her.

She'd decided to write from the kitchen that day because it was such a sunny beautiful day and the kitchen got more natural lighting. That was what she'd told Kai anyway. The other, more accurate reason, was because if she stayed in her room with him, she wouldn't get any work done. She'd tried it out the few days before and it didn't matter if it was her and Brock or her and Kai, she never lasted long before one would give the other a look and they would be at it again. The supplements her brother had given her hadn't seemed to have too much of an effect. Basically, if she went too long without one of them, she would dissolve into a puddle of need. But, true to their promises, they never let her get that bad.

All the sex was wreaking havoc on her productivity, though. At least this way, in the kitchen, with other people home, they had to be sneakier if they wanted to play around. So far, her plan was working. Frannie was on one side of the table, pecking away at her keyboard and Kai was at the other, reading over the scenes she had already written. He had a red pen in hand and was busy pointing out plot holes and making suggestions in the margin on how to fix them.

Brock was better at pointing out emotional inconsistencies but he was at work and had promised to come back in uniform. The three of them had plans later for a little role-playing game that involved Brock in uniform and his handcuffs.

Frannie heard tiny feet pattering down the hallway and looked up just in time to see Serena Ann toddle around the corner and into the kitchen. "Nee!" she said upon seeing Frannie and attempted to run toward her.

"Careful..." Frannie called out as Serena Ann tripped over her own foot. Kai leaned over and caught her before she could fall on her face. Serena Ann pushed his arm away declaring, "Self!" and walked the rest of the way to Frannie.

Kai shook his head and tsked. "You Fellers are the stubbornest group of people I have ever met."

Finn walked in then with a basket of laundry. "You don't know the half of it," he said. "She's decided that we aren't to help her while she is in the bath. With anything. Yesterday, she covered herself with soap and then thought she was done. Leapt out of the bathtub and ran; it was like trying to catch a greased piglet. That must be the shifter blood in her, I don't ever remember being so willful," he said but with enough of a smile that Frannie knew he wasn't really upset. Finn loved being a father as much as he loved being Luke's mate.

Frannie's heart twisted as she scooped her niece into her lap. Sure enough, the crazy curls already covered her head. She nuzzled her nose against Serena Ann's nose and then tickled her tummy. "Love Nee," Serena Ann said, setting a flat palm on Frannie's chest directly over her heart.

Frannie avoided Kai's face knowing he would see that sadness there. "And your auntie loves you," she said when she was sure her voice wouldn't wobble. The toddler slid down then and followed Finn into the laundry room. For the hundredth time Frannie thought about what she wasn't able to do, what she would never be able to naturally give Kai and Brock. And with them both being alphas, that meant neither of them would be able to get pregnant, either. They had already given up the hope of ever knotting with her. Frannie knew from her shifter research that knotting was one of the most amazing experience shared between mates. Maybe you could adopt? Maybe then they will stay?

She was quickly forgetting how to live without her growling mates, but could not stop wondering why it was they were with her.

"Let's take a break," Kai said, surprising her with how close he'd gotten to her without her noticing. "We can go out and get a coffee, stretch our legs."

"But Brock will be home soon."

Kai smiled. "I know. We were going to go back to the apartment anyway. I have an idea that our plans might get a little loud. I'll have him meet us there."

Heat shot straight between her legs at his words. "Okay, I'll grab my purse." Frannie gathered her laptop and cord and deposited them safely in her bedroom. She grabbed her purse and was about to head out when she had a naughty thought. She reached under her sundress and pulled her panties down and off. She threw them in the laundry hamper and with a devilish wink to herself in the mirror, skipped down the hallway to meet Kai.

The entire time in the car Kai kept looking over at her quizzically like she was a riddle he was trying to figure out. Frannie just smiled sweetly at him each time. He parked at her favorite coffee shop and held her hand as they walked in. It wasn't too busy, unusual for this shop, and there was a lot of seating. Still, Kai told her to get them a table while he got their drinks. The coffee shop was lined with windows on two of the walls, which was one of the reasons she liked the place so much. There was an industrial hipster theme that she liked. She was also fond of the dark brown, matte-finish wooden tables and chairs.

She chose a table for three by the window. Kai was nearly at the front when she looked out the window for some people-watching. Everyone seemed a little happier in the sun. When she spotted a face she recognized it took a moment for her to place the person. When she did, her stomach tightened.

Victor noticed her about the same time she recognized him, but instead of scowling or giving her any number of mean faces she thought he would give her, he smiled shyly and gave her a tentative wave. Fr
annie smiled back almost out of habit than anything else. Instead of walking by, Victor turned into the shop and walked up to her table.

"Hey, I'm really glad I saw you just now," he said quietly.

Frannie looked over to where Kai was ordering their drinks. She shook her head. It wasn't like she was doing anything wrong talking to the man. "Um, yeah, I'd apologize for throwing you out of my house but—"

"But then you would be lying," he finished her sentence. "And I agree. I was an ass that night. I had just come out of a bad breakup and you had those two really attractive guys who were basically everywhere you were and I got too drunk and made a fool of myself. Some people are mean drunks, I'm a mean snobby drunk. Not an excuse, but I'm working on it. I hope you can accept my apology."

Frannie sat up. She hadn't expected Victor to say that. She was too much of a softie to hold a grudge and looking back, that night had ended the way it needed to end. "Oh, yeah, of course I get it. Apology accepted."

He exhaled, obviously relieved. "I'm not homophobic, even though I sort of sounded like I was that night. My sister is gay and when I told her what happened, she punched me really hard in the arm and then said I deserved to get thrown out. Which I agree with, by the way."

"No worries, water under the bridge."

Victor shifted his weight nervously. "I was wondering if your number is the same? I really do want to talk to you about doing an author event, I think it would be great for the store and for you—"

Frannie knew the moment Kai had come up behind her because it was about the same time Victor's eyes widened and his mouth gaped open. What sort of caveman expression was Kai giving the poor guy? She turned around and sure enough Kai was there, holding a tray with their drinks and an expression that clearly said, "back the fuck off." "Hey Kai, you remember Victor," she said pointedly.

"Yep." Kai walked forward, forcing Victor to take a few steps back as he placed the tray on the table and then took the chair directly next to her instead of the chair across from her like a normal person.

Frannie resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

"Hey man," Victor said slowly. His eyes went from Frannie to Kai and back again. "So, are you two like, together or something? What happened to the other guy, the big one?"

Frannie looked past Victor and grimaced. This couldn't have happened worse if she'd written it. Brock strolled in, catching the tail end of his question. She allowed herself a moment to simply soak in how delicious he looked in his full uniform and go over her plans for later that involved him in varying stages of undress. He would have to keep the hat on the whole time.

"The big one is here," Brock said louder than he needed to. It had the intended effect though, as Victor jumped up in surprise. Brock walked over to the table and sat down but not before kissing Kai and then Frannie hello. His kiss to Kai was a peck on the cheek, but with her, he had chosen full-mouth, full-tongue. If she didn't enjoy it so much she would have rolled her eyes again.

"So, you're all together?" he asked, but with no judgment.

"Yes," Frannie said brightly and with a smile that she hoped helped the situation.

Victor nodded. "Okay, that's cool. Well, my offer still stands. I think an event could be a lot of fun. I can give you a call...or maybe..." He looked at Kai and then Brock. "Maybe you just call me." He waved goodbye then and left the coffee shop.

Frannie turned her attention to the two barbaric beasts she called mates. "Why did you two do that? He wasn't hitting on me and even if he was, I can take care of myself."

"You used to date him," Brock said gruffly as if it explained their rude behavior.

"It was two dates. I've gone on dates with a number of people, you can't be jerks to all of them," Frannie replied. Judging from the looks she got back from Kai and Brock, there was a chance that they could be jerks to all of them. "He's a bookstore owner. Your mate writes books. Don't you think you should at least take my career into account before you scare someone away just for agreeing to go on two dates with me?"

Desire flared up in their eyes then. "I like it when you refer to yourself as our mate," Kai said, reaching for her leg under the table.

"Men," Frannie scoffed. "Well, I hope you both realize I will be calling him and setting up at least a book signing. It will be great for sales and will hopefully light the fire I need to finish this first draft." She saw that there would be an argument in her future but was positive she would win. "Maybe I should just say no more sex until it is finished?" She didn't mean it but enjoyed their looks of terror.

"You could say that," Kai said after he had recovered from his initial shock. "But I don't think you'd be able to uphold it." As he spoke his hand slid up her thigh. Brock was on her other side, blocking what Kai was doing from anyone who might look over.

Frannie licked her lip and then bit it. Kai's finger made a circular pattern up her thigh and she moaned quietly as he reached her center.

"Holy shit," Kai exhaled. "She isn't wearing panties," he told Brock who leaned forward, his nostrils flared as he smelled the air around her. When he opened them, his gray eyes had darkened with desire.

"That is very naughty, ma'am," he said into her ear. "Maybe I should take you in."

Frannie sighed as Kai slipped his finger inside of her and Brock nibbled at her ear. Role play had begun.

  Chapter Twenty-four

  Frannie

The next morning Frannie rolled over and was surprised to find herself alone for the first time in weeks. She had passed out last night after a particularly intense orgasm. Even now, hours later, her body tingled from the memory.

Brock and Kai had started some sort of competition that centered around which one of them could make her orgasm so hard that she would fall asleep after. Every time they asked her to choose which was better, she would say she really couldn't tell and that maybe they should both try again. She was beginning to realize that there was nothing better than waking up the next morning after a night full of amazing sex. Normally, though, she woke up snuggled in the arms of one or both of her mates. Waking up alone was weird.

She grabbed for her phone and looked for a text. Sure enough, there was one from Kai and one from Brock, both of them explaining how Kai had to go into the office for the day and had court in the afternoon but that Brock was going to swing by after his first three hours on shift and take her back to her house so she wouldn't be alone in the apartment all day.

She stretched her arms over her head. While she appreciated that they cared enough to let her know where they were, something about the text didn't sit well with her. It wasn't like she couldn't manage her own way home. Frannie rolled out of their bed and did the normal waking-up morning things. She was in the kitchen waiting for the coffee to brew when she realized this would be a perfect time to set up an event with Victor—if she waited for a time when Kai or Brock was around, they would spend the whole time breathing down her neck and making sure Victor wasn't getting fresh. Frannie would never tell her guys this, but she kind of liked their heavy-handed, possessive ways. She especially liked it because she knew that if she told them she didn't like it, they would do their best to try and stop. They were so accommodating that way.

Ten minutes later Frannie hung up the phone with a smile. She had a date and a time for her book signing with a Q&A session afterward. Victor had been friendly and even joking. She still tried to apologize for Brock and Kai's behavior toward him last time they met, but he'd laughed it all off. He'd even mentioned how happy Frannie had looked and how glad he was that their date hadn't worked out because it seemed like she found what she was looking for after all.

Frannie slipped on her shoes as she waited for Brock to come back and take her home. Some people were just nice and Victor turned out to be one of those people. She began going down the mental list of woman she knew who might like a guy like Victor. Her phone barked.

Brock: Nearly there, baby. We'll have to hurry, there is a briefing I need to get to soon. :(

&n
bsp; Frannie eyed his frowny face; no doubt Brock had wanted some extra time for more role playing. She hadn't really reacted toward men in uniform before him, but no man had looked as sexy in a uniform as Brock did. It fit him like a second skin. Funny how she thought the same of Kai in one of his suits he wore whenever he had court. Her two guys were perfect in every way, including the careers they chose.

Well, if Brock had someplace to be the least she could do was wait for him outside so he didn't have to park and come in and get her, that would save a lot of time. She grabbed her stuff and locked the door behind her. Moments later she was on the sidewalk, looking up and down the street, waiting to see Brock's police car roll up. Her phone rang and she answered it.

  "Babe, I'm outside so—"

"Fran, please don't hang up on me," the male's voice said.

Frannie felt her stomach drop down to her knees. She was frozen, not in fear, but in the force of all the memories that came rushing up at the sound of that voice.

"Why do you keep calling me?" she asked with a choked whisper.

There was a long silence and then he made a snort of a noise that almost sounded like a bitter laugh. "Would you believe me if I said it was because I miss you?"

"No. Not after all these years, I wouldn't."

"You wouldn't talk to me right—right after."

  "I didn't talk to anyone."

"Fran, all of that, it didn't end how I wanted it to end. I never wanted you to get hurt."

"Well, I did get hurt and then I got over it, so you can stop calling all the time. I've moved on, I'm sure you also moved on."

"I never forgot you. That's why she's still so mad."

  "She...your wife?"

"Yes, she can still see it in my eyes. I think about you still."

"Well that's a pretty shitty thing to do to the person you are married to. You should try not doing that." Frannie saw Brock's police car turn down the street. "I've got to go. I mean it, do not call me."
