Something else I wanted to explore in the book was Daniel after being tortured because of Nemesio. This I thought would be interesting to explore because I knew I would show his trauma. Yet I wanted to show his recovery too.
Now, because of my psychology background, I need to stress the chance of Daniel recovering from his psychological trauma within three weeks is near impossible. But I think the psychology part of myself can forgive me as I showed psychological therapy isn’t an instant fix and it takes a while to complete. (Again, not shown in this book but it’s fiction!)
The last relationship I wanted to explore was Daniel and Harrison. Mainly, because I wanted to explore the idea of sex in autistic relationships.
As a result, I can almost guarantee there are a few autistic people reading this book and I wanted to stress that if you’re concerned about sex. It’s okay and you aren’t alone.
