“Ok, I’ll be right back,” Noah said. He quickly grabbed everything from her glove compartment and got his cell phone out. Then he went ahead and made a few phone calls for her.

A few minutes later, Noah had everything under control.

“Ok, the tow truck is on its way, and I spoke to your mechanic. He’s about ready to leave for the day, but he promised to look at your car first thing in the morning and call you once he has assessed the damage,” he explained to Robyn.

“Thanks so much,” Robyn said, letting out a sigh of relief. “I'm not sure I would have been able to handle that.”

A half hour later, the tow-truck had arrived and was ready to take Robyn’s car to the mechanic. Robyn then gave Noah directions to her place and they were on their way.

Noah pulled into her driveway after a short drive across town and jumped out of the truck, making his way over to her side to help her out. She was still shaking pretty badly, and she leaned on him for support without even thinking about it.

Robyn handed Noah her keys and let him unlock the door. As soon as he closed the door behind them, she realized that her stomach was upset.

Noah watched as Robyn turned and darted down the hall. A few minutes later, she reemerged looking exhausted. Noah's first instinct was to take her into his arms. He did, and she immediately broke down into tears.

“I think you should lie down a few minutes,” Noah suggested as he tried to comfort her. Robyn nodded and slowly walked to her bedroom, where she got into bed and crawled under the covers. Noah turned to leave, but he stopped short when he heard Robyn's faint voice say, “don't go…just…come here and hold me for a while.”

Noah was a little shocked by Robyn's request, but he didn't hesitate. Kicking off his boots, he got in bed beside her and held her in his arms as she pressed herself against him. Under any other circumstances, Noah was sure he would be aroused. But right now he was genuinely concerned about her.

Once Noah was sure Robyn was asleep, he slipped out of her grip and left her room. He didn't want her to think anything had happened when she woke up, so he thought it would be best that he not be there when she did.

About an hour later, Robyn woke up and was momentarily confused as to why she was in bed. Then the details of her accident came rushing back. She wondered if Noah was still there or if he had left. As she tried to get up, she noticed that some of her muscles were sore. She walked down the hall and saw Noah sitting in her living room watching television.

“Thanks for helping me today,” Robyn spoke up, making her presence known.

Noah turned to see Robyn standing in the archway. She looked a lot better than she did when he brought her home. She had the color back in her face and didn't seem quite as shaken.

“How are you feeling?” he asked her.

“A little sore, but I’m better than I was a little while ago,” Robyn said, rubbing a kink from her neck.

Noah watched as she walked into the living room and sat down beside him on the couch. “Where does it hurt?” he asked, prepared to take her to see a doctor if need be.

“My neck is a little sore, and some of my back muscles are as well,” Robyn said.

“Well if you feel you need to see a doctor, just let me know.”

“No, I think I’ll be okay. I don't want to keep you here any longer than I already have,” Robyn said, giving him a grateful smile.

Noah stood, but before he left he said, “You do plan on taking a day off work tomorrow, don't you?”

“No can do,” Robyn said, shaking her head. “I have to be there.”

“No you don't,” Noah insisted. “I don't mind prolonging the project for one day if it means you can take tomorrow off to rest.”

“Well I appreciate the concern, but I have other projects lined up after this one. I can't afford even a one-day delay.”

“Ok then,” Noah said, sensing that he wasn’t going to win this one. “But feel free to call me if you need a ride out in the morning.”

Robyn nodded and followed him to the door, going to open it for him. “Thanks, but I’m going to call my insurance company after you leave and look into getting a rental car,” she said as he exited the house.

As much as she appreciated the kind gesture, she figured she had already crossed the line of professionalism with him enough as it was.

  Chapter 6

Robyn had a few problems getting going the next morning, mostly because she was sore, but she still managed to make it to Noah's place by ten.

The workers had started at nine, and Robyn walked around surveying their progress. Once she was pleased with their work, she walked in the direction of Noah's office. She lightly knocked on the door and Noah greeted her a few seconds later.

“Hey Robyn. When I didn't see you here at nine this morning, I was hoping that meant you had decided to stay home or go see a doctor.”

“No, I just needed a few extra minutes to get myself ready this morning,” Robyn said. “But I wanted to come by and thank you again for everything you did yesterday.”

“Anything for a friend,” Noah said as he closed his office door behind him. He noticed Robyn wince a little as she sat down and got concerned. “Are you sure you’re alright?” he questioned as he sat down beside her. “You look like you’re in a little bit of pain.”

“Yeah, I just… I've had this muscle spasm in my shoulder since I woke up today,” Robyn said.

Robyn felt Noah move closer to her, and then she felt his strong hands on her shoulders. He started to massage them, and Robyn had to admit that it felt good. She turned to the side a little bit to make it easier for Noah. She couldn't believe the effect he was having on her. She could feel the tension leaving her body, and she could also feel herself becoming aroused.

After several minutes, Noah stopped and asked, “does that feel better?”

Robyn moved her shoulders and was surprised that the pain was gone. “You have the magic touch,” said as she stood up. “I feel fine now.”

Noah stood in front of Robyn and noticed that her face and neck were a little flushed. He was caught off guard when Robyn moved in closer to him and gave him a hug. He had a hard time controlling himself as he took in her scent and felt her breasts press against his chest. In most cases Noah had great control over his body, but not in this case. He felt the familiar pull in his groin and knew the hug had to end, otherwise he would do something he would regret.

Robyn wasn't sure if she was imagining it or not, but she thought she felt Noah become aroused as she hugged him. She was surprised when he pulled away and walked over to the window. “Are you alright?” she asked him, her concern showing on her face.

Noah nodded, but a meek, “I'm fine” was all he managed to get out.

Robyn knew she had to get back to work, but she had to do one thing before she could. She walked over to Noah and went to place a light kiss on his cheek, but he tilted his head at just the right moment and kissed her hard on the lips instead.

Having Robyn that close to him made Noah lose control. He was surprised and pleased when Robyn put her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. A moment later, he stepped back and whispered, “I'm sorry. That was very unprofessional of me.”

Robyn shook her head and neared in on him again. “Noah, let's forget about the fact that you’re my client for a second,” she insisted. “There was a reason you kissed me, wasn't there?”

Noah sat down beside Robyn on the bay window ledge and looked over at her. “What would you say if I said I was falling for you?” he challenged, coming right out with it.

Robyn stood up and stood in front of Noah. Since Noah was leaning against the window ledge, he was at the perfect height for her to look into his amazing green eyes. “I would say I’m falling

for you too,” she finally responded.

“But we shouldn't be doing this, should we?” Noah said, knowing full well that they were breaking the rules. Even so, he
wasn't going to let the one woman who had finally made him feel whole again walk out of his life simply because she was working for him.

“Maybe,” Robyn said. “But there's nothing stopping us from pursuing a relationship once this project is finished.”

Noah smiled upon realizing that she was offering him an alternative.

“It isn't going to be easy, but it’s only three weeks,” Robyn purred, running a hand down his chest. “It won't be so bad.”

“Well if it would make you feel better, I could go and stay with a friend for the duration of the project,” Noah offered.

“That might be for the best. Having you here each day will be too tempting,” Robyn admitted.

“I agree. Let me make a few phone calls and I should be gone by lunch time,” Noah said. As he watched Robyn head for the door, he had to add, “I’m only willing to do this knowing that we can see each other once the house is finished.”

Robyn nodded and flashed him a smile. “Don't worry,” she called over her shoulder as she left the room. “I'll let you know as soon as I'm done.”

A few hours later, Robyn was dealing with a small problem in one of the bedrooms when Noah entered the room and asked, “Do you mind if I steal you away for a moment?”

“Sure,” Robyn said, trying to remain professional. “I'll meet you in your office once I have this all squared away.”

Ten minutes later, Robyn entered Noah's office without knocking. “Is there a problem?” she asked as she closed the door.

“No,” Noah said, shaking his head. “I just wanted to let you know that I'm gonna go stay with my brother Shane until the project is done. I thought you should know where to reach me incase any problems arise.”

“Ok, well in that case, I should probably tell you now about a meeting we need to have next week. Ken and Joanne want to come out and meet with you and look at the house, so I'll need to contact you to set up a time for that,” Robyn explained.

“That isn't a problem,” Noah said.

“Good,” Robyn said as she moved in closer to him. “And thanks for coming to see me before you left.”

“No problem,” Noah whispered as he stared down at her pouty lips. “Would it be out of line for me to ask for a goodbye kiss?”

Robyn smiled and shook her head, closing her eyes as she felt their mouths meet. She wanted this moment to go on forever. She loved how gentle Noah's touch was. The kiss finally ended, but she stayed in his arms for a few minutes more.

“I could stay here like this all afternoon, but you aren't going to get any work done if I do,” Noah spoke up, pulling away from her. “You know where to reach me. If you need anything at all, just call.”

Robyn nodded, eyeing his behind as he sauntered away and left his office. Good lord, she thought with bated breath. This man just might be the death of me.

  Chapter 7

Robyn survived the rest of the week without any major issues, mainly because she kept herself sufficiently busy. It was difficult being at Noah’s house without him there, but she managed.

On Thursday morning, Robyn stayed a few minutes later than everyone else and walked into Noah's closet. She just had to get her hands on one of his t-shirts and take in his scent. She finally decided that Noah wouldn't mind if she borrowed one for the next two weeks. She would tell him about it when she called him on Monday to set up the appointment with Ken and Joanne on Wednesday.

On Saturday night, Robyn was trying to watch a movie when her doorbell rang. She wasn't expecting anyone so she walked to the door and smiled when she saw Noah on the other side.

“And here I thought I would have a hard time keeping you away,” Robyn said as she let him in.

“Funny,” Noah said. “I just thought I'd come by and let you know that I stopped by the house today. It's really coming along.”

“Well don't get too excited, but we may be a day or two ahead of schedule,” Robyn said.

“Really?” Noah grinned. “Now there’s something to look forward to.”

“Well you’re here now. Why don't you come in and stay for a while?” Robyn offered as she headed towards her bedroom. “Just let me go put some shorts on.”

She came out a few seconds later and Noah commented on the fact that he had a shirt just like the one she was wearing.

“That's because it is yours,” Robyn said, hoping Noah wouldn't be mad. “I hope you don't mind. I was thinking about you the other day and went into your closet. This smelled like you, so I borrowed it.”

“Well it looks great on you,” Noah said. He put his arm around her as she sat down and asked, “how are you feeling? I mean… after the accident and everything. I’ve been worried about you.”

“Oh, I'm fine now. I guess a few muscles got pulled, but it's no biggie,” Robyn said.

“Damn. I was hoping I would have to give you another massage,” Noah teased, trying to act disappointed.

Robyn grinned. “Hey, I'm not stopping you. In fact, you're more than welcome to give me a massage whenever you feel like it.”

“I better not. I'm afraid I would go too far,” Noah admitted.

For the next five hours or so, Robyn and Noah sat and talked about their week and what they had been doing to keep their minds off of each other. They both admitted they weren't doing a good job. At one point Robyn reminded Noah that he was the one that came to her doorstep, not the other way around. He tried to convince her that he was just worried about her, but it didn't work.

Around two in the morning, Noah decided he had better get back to Shane's. He gave Robyn a gentle kiss before he left, and he made no promises to her that he wouldn't show up on her doorstep again.

Robyn phoned Noah about their upcoming meeting on Monday during her lunch break. Things were really moving with the work on the house, and she simply didn't have the time to call him during the morning. She was relieved when Noah’s voice came through the phone.

  “Hi Noah, its Robyn.”

“Hey, it's great to hear your voice! Are you giving into the temptation now?” Noah joked.

“No, this is a business call. Remember that meeting I told you about? Well I need to find out what time is good for you to meet us here on Wednesday,” Robyn said.

“How about two in the afternoon? I have a meeting in the morning that day.”

“Two sounds good. I’ll call Ken and Joanne and let them know.”

“Great, I'm looking forward to seeing you again. By the way, it looks like I have to go out of town for a few days on Friday. I have a few meetings and interviews to do out in LA. I just wanted to let you know in case you called and wondered where I was.”

“Well thanks for the heads up. I want to say I'll miss you, but you don't need to go out of town for that.”

“I know, but just think… If everything is on schedule, or ahead of schedule like you said, it’ll only be a few more days until you're no longer working for me,” Noah said with enthusiasm.

At this, Robyn only smiled. Wednesday could not come fast enough for her. Ken and Joanne were coming out to the house at 1:30 to take a look around before Noah arrived. Robyn had determined that the house would be done by Wednesday, and she knew Noah would be just as pleased as she was to hear that.

Ken and Joanne were a few minutes early to the meeting, and they seemed pleased with how the project was progressing. Robyn took the few minutes they had before Noah got there to ask if she could take the following Thursday and Friday off for personal reasons. Since they were both pleased with her work, and her next project wasn't due to start until the week after, they agreed to give her the two days off. Now she would just need a few minutes alone with Noah that afternoon to tell him the good news.

Noah arrived a few minutes before two and looked amazing in his black suit. Robyn was not prepared for how good he looked. On top of that, he did a very good job at keeping things on a strictly business level around Ken and Joanne –better then she would have done, anyw
ay.

The meeting lasted forty-five minutes, and Ken and Joanne both seemed pleased to hear that Noah was very happy with the work Robyn was doing. He even made a point of saying that he was thrilled he would be able to move back in the next week after he returned home from his business trip.

Ken and Joanne finally left after about another fifteen minutes of friendly conversation. As soon as they were gone, Robyn closed and locked the office door and walked up to Noah.

“Do you have any idea how good you look in that suit?” she purred.

“You like it?” Noah asked, smiling slyly.

Robyn didn't answer back with words. Instead she let her hands explore his chest underneath his sports coat. Noah responded by placing his hands on Robyn's bottom and pressing her against his growing arousal. He moved over to the window for support and brought Robyn between his legs. She then removed his coat and continued to let her hands explore his chest.
