“Enough!” Tyler blurted with an extra hard spank to each quivering pink cheek.
“I can’t…help it!” she spluttered between ragged breaths. “It hurts!”
“Of course it hurts!”
“Stop, Tyler, please,” she wailed. “I’m sorry…I cursed…I’m sorry about…your mother.” His hand was still falling with hard rapid-fire spanks.
“Good.”
“I won’t do it again! Ever!” She held her breath. The smacks had stopped suddenly. Was he finished?
“No, you won’t. Stand up.”
Whitney scrambled to her feet, her eyes never leaving Tyler’s as he got the soap that he’d bought out of the bag he’d brought from the car. Her eyes widened and she shook her head. “No.”
“Yes.” He unwrapped the bar as quickly as he could and poured some of the water from the bottle over it to make it wet. “Open.”
“Mm, mm,” Whitney shook her head vigorously and mumbled through tight lips until he smacked her bottom hard.
“I said open.” The look he gave her brooked no more argument.
Her bottom was still stinging and she felt she had no choice, so she opened her mouth just a little.
“Wider.”
Her eyes pleaded with him, but the answer she got was a raised eyebrow. As soon as her mouth was open wide enough, he poked the soap in, making her splutter. “That’s terr…terrible,” she whined.
“You wouldn’t expect it taste good, Honey, would you? That’s what makes it a punishment. That’s what happens to naughty girls with a nasty mouth.” He continued to push the bar in and out of her mouth until it was thoroughly soaped, ignoring her dramatic protests. He took her hand and sat back on the quilt, taking her with him.
She could hear the bag rattling and she panicked, rearing up and trying to climb off his knee, but she was held tight. “No. I don’t want that thing,” she said around her soapy mouth.
“Hush.” The brush clapped off her already sore bottom and she squealed.
“That hurtsh!” The soap bar in her mouth wasn’t making it easy to voice her protests.
Tyler ignored Whitney’s protests and continued spanking. It was her first time with anything other than his hand so he wasn’t spanking her overly hard, but she squealed like he was.
“Shtop, pleashe, shtop!” she wailed.
“This is what punishment feels like, Whit,” he said, punctuating each word with a spank.
“I’m shor…ry I was rude to your mom and for being a terr…ible wife…about ever…ything!” She gagged as the taste of the soap turned her tummy.
He spanked the back of each thigh several more times, ignoring her loud wails. When she burst into heartbroken tears, he stopped. “You’re not a terrible wife at all,” he said, bending to kiss the top of her head while he stroked her back.
“Rea…lly?” she sobbed.
“Really. You were a very naughty wife who needed to be spanked and have her mouth washed out.”
Whitney’s sobs settled slightly.
“That language was a disgrace,” he said, patting her sore bottom with a little more enthusiasm that she would have liked.
“Ouch!” she yelped. “I thought you were done.”
“I want you to think long and hard about the next time you decide to ignore what I tell you.”
“I won’t, I promishe! I mean, I mean, let me shpit, pleash.”
He helped her to stand and passed her the bottle of water. “Ok, Hon, you can rinse.”
“That was the worst,” she sniffled when her mouth finally felt a bit more normal again.
“Good. Remember that feeling.” Whitney would have loved to poke out her tongue, but it really didn’t seem the best time for that. Her ass was on fire and she’d probably not be able to taste food for a month.
“Are you still angry with me?”
“No,” he said, pulling her into his arms.
They lay back on the soft quilt in each other’s arms, drained both physically and mentally.
“I’m so sorry,” she said between hitched breaths.
“I know, Honey.” Tyler ran the tips of his fingers all over her back and bottom to soothe his chastened bride.
They lay like that in the open for quite a while until Tyler finally loosened his hold just a little. “Remember when we used to come here on a Sunday afternoon? We’d swing from that willow and drop into the water. We’d just do it over and over and until we barely had enough energy to crawl up the bank.”
“Then we’d lie here and dry off on the grass. Those were happy times.”
“Yes, they were, but there was always something missing for me.”
“What?” Whitney asked, lifting her head from his chest to look up into his face.
“This. I used to lie here as close to you as I dared and wish I could pull you into my arms.”
“Why didn’t you just take a chance?”
“Because being just your friend was better than the prospect of losing you altogether.”
“Well, I’m glad we’re together now.”
“Oh, so am I, baby.” he said, brushing his lips across hers.
Whitney ran a thumb over his nipple and chuckled as his firmed under her touch. “You know there is no one around. No one at all.”
“No,” he said thickly. “There isn’t.” He leaned over and deepened the kiss, his hands roaming over the warm skin on her bottom. When Whitney made a move to climb on top, he surprised her by flipping her over onto her back.
“Ah, I’m still sore, Tyler!” She tried to get up, but he pushed her down and straddled her. She wanted to protest, but his tongue was working its magic and she could feel Tyler’s hard cock through his jeans.
“Too sore?” he asked with a grin as she unzipped his jeans.
“Help me,” she said, tugging stubbornly at the stuck pants. It was hard when Tyler’s weight was holding them on. She slapped his bottom playfully with a giggle.
“Oh, really,” he said. “Be careful what you wish for.” He shook off his jeans, his eyes not leaving her face as he pushed inside her, pressing her onto her sore bottom.
“Ow!” she whined. “That hurt…oooh.” What started as a raspy burning chafe moved very quickly to a decadent friction. There was something about being out in the open with the night sounds all around them. The cool air on her goose-bumpy skin as they relived the past with some frills added to what had always been childish fun. She pushed up towards her husband, meeting his every thrust, her hands clutching at his fine ass. It was so firm and warm despite the night air and she could feel his muscles clenching pleasingly under her fingers every time he surged into her.
When he let out a primal roar, she joined him with a cry that felt like it echoed across the lake.

“Oh, hi, you’re home,” Brian said, putting the last of the plates and silverware on the table. “Supper’s nearly done. They’re back, Grace!”
Grace looked almost shy as she joined them with a large platter of chicken. “I cooked your favorite,” she said, placing it on the table with a generous smile for Tyler. “I hope you like fried chicken, Whitney.” she added.
“Thank you,” Whitney said with a nervous smile. What was the catch? “I love chicken.”
“Well, good,” Grace said, returning to the kitchen to get the side dishes.
“Would you like some help?” Whitney asked.
“No, you sit right on down. You’re a guest.”
There it was. She was a visitor and not part of the family, Whitney thought.
“Tomorrow you can help,” Grace said with a glance at her husband as she sat down carefully. “I’m sorry about earlier when you got here.”
“Thanks, Mom.”
“I’m sorry too,” Whitney said, happy when Tyler gave her hand a squeeze.
“So, what did you see on your drive.”
“The lake. We had a look at some houses from the outside that were to let,” Tyler said.
“You’re goi
ng to rent? You should stay here and save and then maybe buy something,” Grace said.
“Mom, we can’t afford to buy just yet. I haven’t even started my new job.”
“But you had a good job.”
“I was in the city, Mom. Everything is more expensive.”
“Rent is dead money wherever you are.”
“Grace,” Brian said. “They’re newlyweds. They need their own space.”
“Exactly,” Tyler said, grateful for his dad’s support.
“Are you going to work, Whitney?” Grace asked.
“I don’t know yet.” Whitney glanced at Tyler. “I’m going to go to school, I think.”
“Will you be going to the community college?”
“Yes, Mom, to start,” Tyler said with a little irritation.
“I just thought it’s cheaper, that’s all. No point starting an expensive education and then finding there’s a baby on the way. You’d have one income, a school debt, and three mouths to feed.”
“Mom! We just got married!”
“You know, I think we need more gravy,” Brian said.
“There’s plenty in the boat,” Grace said.
Brian poured a good deal of the gravy onto his plate and then took his wife’s arm. “Come help me get more,” he said.
Whitney tried to hide a snicker as she filled her mouth with the delicious food. “She could be right.”
“We’re talking about a few classes to see what you might like.”
“What if I did get pregnant?”
“Then we’d have to adjust our lives around that,” he said thoughtfully. “I’d rather have you to myself for a while yet, though.”
“Yeah, me too.”
“My mom means well.”
“I think they’re arguing,” she said.
“My parents don’t argue. They discuss.”
“Their discussion is getting loud.”

“I AM being nice,” Grace hissed. “I’m offering some advice.”
“Then maybe it would be better if your advice was less judgmental. Let your son be a grownup. He’s been away from home for a long time.”
“So what does that mean? He doesn’t need his family anymore?”
“No. It means that we get to have a visit with our adult son and his new wife.”
“It’s not easy to just let go.”
“No one’s asking you to not be Tyler’s mother any more. Just loosen the reins. Smile and accept their plans for what they are. Their plans.”
“They could be making a lot of financial mistakes.”
“They’re adults. They’re entitled to make their own mistakes and learn from them.”
“If you say so.” She unfolded a dishtowel and wiped an invisible mark on the counter with it, then folded it back up again.
“I better refill this gravy boat.”
“I don’t know how,” she said.
“Why? Where’s the rest of the gravy?”
“All over your plate,” she answered with a grin.

When Whitney opened her eyes at the start of the next week, she sighed. They’d been making love in the early morning every day since they’d come home, but this was Tyler’s first day at his new job and he left early. They’d quite enjoyed being jammed in the slightly larger than normal twin bed. So much so that this morning, on her first morning alone, it felt large, cold, and empty. She wanted to have her husband’s warm body wrapped around her.
Their lovemaking had been soft, sweet, and QUIET. It was interesting; there was something kind of hot about making love in a single bed in a teenager’s room, trying not to be heard by the olds. There was also a lot to be said for hot, noisy, carefree sex and that they hadn’t had since that night at the hotel when Tyler had spanked her. Not at all. Might be time to do something about that; they needed a plan to get out of there for an evening and make love properly like grownups. Something involving a hot erotic spanking would be nice. Her hand slipped down between her naked legs. She hadn’t worn clothes to bed since the first night they’d made love. There was nothing better than the skin-on-skin feeling. Whitney shuddered as her fingers made lazy circles around her swollen nub. She wondered what Tyler must have seen and felt while he was spanking her that night. Her soft bottom cheeks flattening and bouncing with each spank? Could he feel the heat of her skin as her bottom colored under his hand? He must have been able to see her glistening girly parts as she squirmed around on his lap. SHE could almost feel that sting, AND when he’d fingered her with one hand while spanking her with the other…
It came on her quickly. Blood rushed through her veins en route to her sensitive core. Every part of her thumped, making her twist and writhe and press her bottom into the bed as the final spasms jerked through her, leaving her body buzzing. Luckily she had the presence of mind to bite the sheet to keep from shouting out, because suddenly there was a loud rapping on the door.
“Whitney?”
“Shit,” she whispered. “Ah, yes, Grace?” she choked out, clutching the quilt up to her neck in case her mother-in-law decided to open the door.
“Are you decent?”
“Not very,” Whit whispered. “I’m just getting dressed. I’ll be down in a minute.”
“I’ve made us some coffee and breakfast. We need to talk.”
“Oh, great,” she said softly to no one. “Ok,” she answered. Back to earth with a thud, she thought. We really need our own place. They’d looked at some townhouses and a couple of apartments, but there just didn’t seem to be anything around here.
* * *
“Morning.” Whitney crept into the room, all the time kicking herself for being afraid. She wasn’t afraid of Grace, really, but she was afraid she might fly off the handle and say something that would ruin everything. This was her mother-in law; she had to keep the peace while she was here.
“Good morning,” Grace said. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes,” Whitney answered politely. “Very well.” Oh, God! Had she heard something when she was outside her door?
“I don’t know how you two are comfortable in that bed.”
“It’s fine, honestly.”
“It’s been hard to talk with the men around,” Grace said. “I thought it was time we cleared the air.”
“Ok.”
“I was less than nice when you first arrived and I’m sorry for that.”
“I didn’t notice,” Whitney lied. “Ok, I did, but you apologized already.”
“I don’t expect you to understand,” Grace said with a smile. “One day if you have a child yourself you might.”
“I hope we have children,” Whitney said, trying to help the awkward conversation along.
“You probably will,” Grace said. “I only had the one child.”
“Yes, I know,” Whitney added sympathetically.
“You become focused on that one child when you have one, with everything. From the perfect nutrition, their education, their friendships, everything. He was a good boy.”
“He still is.”
“Yes, I know he is,” Grace said, sipping her coffee. “You know he always loved you.”
“Oh?” Whitney was surprised that Tyler’s mom knew anything about her. Tyler had never taken her there when they were young. They’d always spent their time at school, or after school at the diner, or she’d hang around where he worked.
“When a child hurts, you hurt for them. It was hard to see him suffer after you rejected him over and over for other boys.”
“I never rejected him,” Whitney said. “I guess I should have noticed, but I was a kid too.”
“I realize that now,” Grace said. “Are you sure you didn’t know?”
“I’m positive.”
“Then I’m sorry I jumped to the wrong conclusions. I guess I assumed more than I should have, but he wouldn’t talk to me.”
“So you thought when we turned up married I was going to hurt him again.”
/> “In a nutshell, yes. I’m so sorry, Whitney.”
“That’s ok.”
“Do you think we could start again?”
“I’d like that.”
* * *
“I had SUCH a great day today,” Whitney said, wrapping her arms around Tyler’s neck and kissing him.
“Really? There I was at my first day of work, worried that you and my mom might kill each other.”
“Nope. We had a good talk and it’s all ok. Sorry. How was your day? Were the people nice?”
“Yes the people were nice,” he said with a grin, happy that she was happy. “Tell me about your day.”
“Well, the most important thing is we talked. We went shopping and we had lunch at the diner. I just loved being a customer there instead of a waitress.”
“I bet.”
“Then we came back home and we started dinner. Your mom is gonna teach me how to cook.”
“Did you go and enroll today while you were in town?”
“Not exactly.” Whitney didn’t much like the tone of his voice. It was quiet and friendly, but in the way she imagined that someone’s voice would sound like before they ask you what you’d like for your last meal when you’re on death row. “I was having a good time and I guess I forgot.”
“What was the last thing I said to you this morning?”
Whitney chewed the inside of her cheek. “You said not to forget to enroll because there’s only a couple of days left.”
“Did you forget?”
“Kind of. I didn’t not enroll on purpose if that’s what you mean.” Whitney was put out that he was focusing on the one thing that didn’t need focusing on at that moment. Didn’t he care that she and his mother had talked? Didn’t he care that she had had a great day? “I don’t know why you’re being so mean. It isn’t the last day! It’s ONE of the last days. That means I can still do it tomorrow.”
“I’m not yelling at you, Whitney, and I’m not being mean. I’m simply asking you why you didn’t do what we agreed you would do. It doesn’t sound much like you forgot to me.”
