Mountain Rough Page 10

“And the resort? I’m pretty sure he’s not going to just walk away from that.” I continued scowling.

“No, I don’t think he will. Brandon has agreed to pay for all of the repairs once Red is gone. He’ll even pay to have someone run it in Red’s absence and all of the profit will go to Red. In a few years, once Jacob is in college and no longer living under the shadow of that mountain, we will all sit down and talk to him. We’ll tell him the truth and if Red wants to come back after that, we’re both open to letting time heal these wounds.” She reached out and put her hand on my shoulder. “It’s a fair deal and the best one Red is going to get.”

“I can’t speak for Red, but I’ll talk to him.” I let out a sigh. “This may change his mind.”

I ran everything by Red’s lawyer first. She was surprised that Brandon was willing to give up so much to keep the secret buried until the time was right, but she agreed that it was probably the best deal Red would get. Red wasn’t quite as receptive, but with enough begging, he finally saw that the deal on the table was a good one. Brandon kept his word, and a few days later, I was standing outside the police station, waiting for Red to be released. Nothing could have prepared me for the feelings that would overwhelm me when I saw his face in the sunlight again. I ran to him. I wrapped my arms around him and I swore that I would never let him go.

  SIX MONTHS LATER

“If another kid on a fucking skateboard does a flip in front of me, I swear I might knock him the fuck out.” Red growled as we walked hand-in-hand through the park near our apartment. “I mean, fuck. I’m walking here!”

“Come on, chill out.” I put my hand on his arm. “You’ve been living here for six months and you still haven’t adjusted to life in a college town?”

“It was a lot easier to ignore when I was actually a student. God, I hope I wasn’t that fucking annoying.” He paused and leaned against the wall that overlooked a man-made lake in the center of the park.

“See, I told you there was a little nature nearby, you just have to know where to look.” I smiled and took his hand again.

“I guess it’ll do.” He squeezed my hand and then put his arm around me. “Truthfully, I’m happy as long as I’m with you.”

“I know it was tough to leave Blue Ridge behind, especially without getting to meet Jacob, but you’ll get a chance in a few years.” I leaned against him and snuggled into his embrace.

“It was the right thing to do. It may hurt, but it wouldn’t be fair to drop that kind of weight on him while he’s still in high school. At least he’ll know that I did care about him. Still, I don’t expect the eventual discussion to be a happy one. I doubt he’ll want anything to do with a father that abandoned him.” Red exhaled sharply. “Okay, I’ve had enough of nature. I’m ready to take you back home and make you beg.”

“I have homework.” I turned my head and glared. “Plus, Hannah hasn’t started on her assignment, so I’ve got to help her with it as well.”

“I thought you weren’t going to keep enabling her.” He sighed and we started walking back in the direction of our apartment.

“It’s a slow process.” I smiled and shrugged.

“Yeah, what the girl needs is a trip across someone’s knee—regularly.” He leaned against my ear. “Just like you do sometimes.”

“Got any friends back in Blue Ridge with a hand as firm as yours is?” I giggled and nudged him with my elbow.

“Not one that is firm enough to keep her in line.” He chuckled. “Okay, do what you have to do, but save a little energy for me.”

“It’ll be more than you can handle.” I continued giggling.

“I doubt that.” He let his hand drop to my ass and gave me a quick smack.

  Epilogue: Red

It was hard to adjust to life outside of Blue Ridge the second time. I wasn’t quite ready for the corporate world again, so I got a job working as a lumberjack for a logging company until the money from the resort started to come in. It was enough for me to live comfortably and it kept Mandy from having to work so she could focus on school. I spent a lot of late nights trapped in my own head. I had given up a lot for my freedom and the life I was getting to share with the woman I loved. There were going to be hard times ahead when we finally did tell Jacob the truth, but until then, I just had to watch him turn into a man through the photographs Susan sent every few weeks.

“You’re late.” I was still sitting in the living room when Mandy tried to sneak in and close the door quietly.

“Sorry, Hannah’s paper required more TLC than I realized.” She walked across the living room and dropped her book bag on the floor.

“That doesn’t surprise me.” I reached for her jeans and started to unbutton them. “I hope you saved some energy for me.”

“I did.” She nodded and kicked them off once they were past her hips.

“Good.” I pushed her panties down and opened my robe to expose my engorged cock. “Because I’m definitely not going to be able to sleep until this is dealt with.”

“I’ll deal with it.” She smiled and straddled me.

I pushed my cock into her wetness and she started to sink down onto it. We had to make the best of our stolen moments together. She lived with me, but school kept her busy. We usually only got a chance to make love late in the evenings or early in the morning. I hoped we would have a double feature and she wouldn’t have to rush off the next morning, regardless of how late I kept her up. She started to rise and fall on my dick like an angel ascending to the heavens and crashing to earth. I pulled off her shirt and squeezed her breasts while she moved, feeling my cock getting harder as it tasted more of her pussy.

“You’re definitely making up for having me wait so long.” I grunted and brought a hand down to her hip.

“I missed you.” She started moving faster, taking every inch of my cock when she descended down onto me.

Her pussy was definitely the highlight of the day for me. It had been a couple of days since I she was riding it and I hated waiting that long. I watched as her gorgeous body bounced on me, rubbing my hands across it. She pushed my robe open and pressed her hands to my chest, using me as support while she moved. It was hard to believe that I almost lost her at one point. There was no way I would let that happen after we got a second chance. I was going to make her mine forever. She belonged with me and nobody else. I would be the only man to ever feel her pussy wrapped around my cock.

“God, I’m so close.” I felt pressure in my balls.

“Me too.” She nodded and exhaled.

I loved watching Mandy orgasm, but I loved the way it felt even more. Her moment of bliss started and she spasmed on my cock, sending me to a new height of pleasure. I threw my head back against the chair and let out a loud grunt as I felt cum rushing through my shaft. My seed drenched her pussy with the combination of our lust, mixing with her orgasm as she moaned. I might have had to wait a while for her to come home, but it was worth every second. She rode me until the last drop was gone and her orgasm had subsided. Once her bliss was finally done, she leaned forward against my chest and I held her tight.

“I want this for the rest of my life.” I ran my hands along her body. “I don’t want us to ever be too tired for passion.”

“Well, if you ever get tired of it—I guess I’ll have to beg.” She chuckled slightly and sank deeper into my embrace.

  Epilogue: Mandy

“I can’t believe your graduating with honors.” Hannah let her graduation robe fall down her slender figure. “And I’m barely walking across the freaking stage.”

“Maybe if you spent more time studying, we could be walking across the stage together.” I put on my robe and reached over to adjust a wrinkle that had formed near her shoulder.

“I guess I should just be happy that I’m graduating.” She shrugged. “Thank you for all your help. I know I wouldn’t even be sliding across the stage with a questionable GPA if you didn’t drag me across the finish line.”

&nb
sp; “Is that actual gratitude?” I chuckled. “I guess you finally are starting to grow up.”

“I guess I am.” She nodded and smiled. “Here I was doing everything in my power to end up with a rich boyfriend before graduation, and you just stumbled into a relationship with the greatest guy in the world.”

“You could have went with me to the resort.” I smiled and walked over to the mirror. “Maybe it would be you that had a ring on your finger by now instead of me.”

“Nah.” Hannah shook her head. “I wouldn’t have even stayed a night once I saw that resort. When things got complicated, I would have bailed.”

I held up my hand and looked at the ring Red had put on it. We got engaged a few weeks before graduation and we were planning to get married once the time was right. I had agreed to a long engagement because both of us wanted to make sure Jacob could be there if he wanted to be. We had another year before that would happen, but it hadn’t stopped us from getting an early start on our family. I wasn’t sure if it was a boy or a girl quite yet, but I wasn’t walking across the stage alone. A part of Red would be with me—and that made me more excited than the degree I had worked so hard for.

“Ready?” Hannah walked up and took my hand.

“I’m ready for anything.” I looked over at her and smiled.
