The Jaxon Effect Page 22

by KC Michaels

Although the older Victorian style home, with white slat board siding, was nowhere near as magnificent at Jaxon’s mansion he seemed to be taken by it.

“Yes, this was the only home I ever knew until I left for college.”

“It’s charming. I like it,” he said with a smile. Kate couldn’t agree more as she missed that house and her parents more than anything.

She felt a nervous flutter when the front door opened and her parents came out to greet them. Her mom was impeccably put together as usual. Her blonde hair was swept up in a bun and she wore a fitted pink knee skirt and a floral blouse with a matching waste length pale pink sweater. Her dad was in his usual jeans and plaid shirt. They were such a contrast; June Cleaver meets Larry the Cable Guy. They proved the old adage—opposites attract.

“Katherine honey, we missed you. We are so happy to have you home.”

Kate hugged her. “I missed you too, mom.”

“Dad.” She walked into his outstretched arms so he could pull her into a bear hug.

“Bill—Rita it’s nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard so much about you both.” Jaxon greeted them.

“Mom—dad. I would like you to meet Jaxon.” Kate noticed right away that her mother was checking him out appreciatively. Even her own mother couldn’t ignore his looks. It was embarrassing.

“Everything you heard was all good I hope,” her mom said sounding almost breathy. “Katherine mentioned she was bring home a man but she didn’t say you were so handsome.” Jaxon give her a megawatt dazzling smile. It was then that saw her mom noticed Royce.

“Oh that’s Royce,” Kate said hurriedly. “He’s an old friend of Jaxon’s. I invited him along. I hope you don’t mind.”

“I hope we are not imposing,” Jaxon added. “It’s very kind of you to put us up for the weekend.”

“Of course not! Kate hasn't brought anyone home since she left for the city, so this is a treat.”

Kate noticed her dad eye Jaxon with uncertainty. Kate gave him a pleading look which caught Jaxon’s attention immediately.

To break the ice Jaxon pointed to her father’s Yankee’s hat. “What do you think of the Yankees pitching changes this year?”

Kate relaxed as she watched her father’s expression soften. Baseball was one sure fire way to get on Bill’s good side. Somehow Jaxon figured that out and she was grateful.

“Are you a Yankee’s fan son?” Obviously testing Jaxon’s worthiness based on his like or dislike of baseball.

“I’m a season ticket holder but, to be honest, I haven’t made it to many games this year.”

This was something Kate didn’t know about him. He was a Yankees fan.

“I have a collection of memorabilia in the house if you would like to see it,” Bill offered.

“I would be honoured sir. Lead the way.”

Kate’s dad ushered Jaxon into the house and she could hear them already talking about this year's chances at the World Series.

“Listen Jaxon, call me Bill.” Kate smiled to herself. Her dad was already putty in his hands too.

“Come on, let’s get inside you must be hungry,” Rita said to Kate and also Royce who was now standing beside them on the porch with the bags at his feet. “I have a casserole in the oven and I’ve just baked some cookies.”

Kate's mom was plating up the food when Bill and Jaxon finally re-emerged from the den.

“It smells wonderful, Rita,” Jaxon voiced his true appreciation for the savoury aroma that filled the kitchen.

Kate rolled her eyes as her mom blushed at him again. In five minutes he had both of her parents eating out of the palm of his hand. But of course he did, he was Jaxon Remington.

Sitting in the chair next to Kate’s, Jaxon swallowed his last mouthful. “That was delicious Rita, thank you.”

Kate’s mom beamed at him. Jaxon was used to eating at high end restaurants and he was also spoiled by the gourmet meals Jason cooked for him, Kate had tasted Jason’s cooking and he was a culinary phenom, in her opinion. Rita’s casserole paled in comparison, but he really did sound sincere.

“So Jaxon, what is it that you do for a living?” her dad asked.

Kate really hadn’t thought that one through before they arrived. Of course her parents would ask what he did. She wasn’t sure how they would react when they found out that he owned a strip club and a factory that manufactured sex toys. The latter being something they never really talked much about either.

“Dad it looks like you lost a few pounds,” she said as a sure fire subject changer. Her dad gave her mother a look as if to say he told her so. Exactly what Kate expected him to do.

“Your mother didn’t think anyone would notice,” he said proudly. Rita rolled her eyes. Typical Bill and Rita banter. Some things never changed Kate thought to herself happily and she was also feeling grateful that the change of subject had steered them away from the conversation about Jaxon’s profession.

“I’m in the entertainment business,” Jaxon piped up. Kate kicked him under the table. She couldn’t believe he had said that. She really wanted her parents to like him.

  He only shrugged in return.

“What sort of entertainment?” her father asked. Kate cringed; she did not want to hear how he would answer that question.

“So what did you think about dad's baseball collection?” she asked Jaxon, sharing with him a pleading look. He must have taken pity on her.

He has some really valuable stuff there. Actually Bill, if you want I know a guy in Manhattan who can appraise your collection for you. I think you would be surprised how much some of that stuff is worth.”

Bill pondered the offer for a moment. “As long as the guy knows I have no plans on selling any of it. I’ve always hoped that maybe one day I will have a grandson to pass it along to. He winked at Jaxon and then shifted his eyes immediately in Kate’s direction. Kate almost choked on her water while Jaxon seemed unscathed by what her father insinuated.

“Katherine darling, are you okay?” her mom asked, with genuine concern. Apparently Bill’s remark went over her mom’s head. Embarrassed, Kate only nodded.

“So how did you kids meet anyway?” her father asked.

Before she had a chance to answer, Jaxon spoke up.

“Well, your daughter took care of me in the emergency room one morning when I had a nasty dog bite. She is very competent and you should be very proud of her.”

He sent a heated look in Kate’s direction which immediately transposed into a hot memory that jolted her system. She remembered that day very well; his beautifully sculpted chest, his long muscled legs and the erection he couldn’t hide.

“Yes, we are very proud of her.” Her mom answered turning to face Kate.

“Katherine are you feeling ill? You look a little flushed.” Her mom placed her hand on Kate’s forehead. You feel a little warm. Maybe you are coming down with something maybe you should go upstairs and rest.”

  “No, it’s nothing I—”

“I think that’s a great idea Rita,” Jaxon piped up and Kate could see a devilish glint in his eyes. “Royce, where’s Kate’s bag?”

Kate knew had a feeling rest was the farthest thing from his mind. Especially giving that look. Bill cleared his throat.

“So how long have you two been seeing each other?”

“Thirty six days,” Jaxon answered immediately and Kate was surprised because she didn’t even know that. Then again, technically if you considered all of the time he had spent trying to avoid her, it was more like a week – maybe a week and a half – but she didn’t correct him. That would open up a whole new slew of questions which she was not going to answer.

“I see,” her dad said. “Usually when man comes home to meet a girl’s parents, he is serious about her.”

  “Dad, please!” Kate exclaimed.

“Thank you for dinner Mrs. Sims,” Royce cut in. “I am going to take a little walk outside. I need to stretch my legs.”

  The conversation
paused as they watched Royce slip out the back door.

“What Kate?” her father defended. “Aren’t we entitled to know what this man's intentions are, with our daughter?”

“Oh Bill, leave them alone. If you continue to grill poor Jaxon, she might never bring another man here again.”

“You can ask me anything you want Bill."

Bill pursed his lips to say something else but the conversation stalled again when someone entered through the kitchen door. Kate stiffened as she saw her sister.

As usual her Kelsey was beautiful. She was wearing tight jeans and an even tighter tank top. Her hair was hanging freely down her back and she looked so vibrant and fresh. Her lips were the exact same shape as Kate’s, but they were painted a bright red.

She took quick stock of her own attire, which consisted of pair of loose Khaki pants and a white t-shirt. Her hair was in a ponytail and she wasn't wearing any make up. The lip-gloss she applied that morning had long since worn away. Next to her sister Kate felt plain, she always felt plain. Fancy clothing and heavy makeup just didn’t feel natural to her. Normally plain was how she liked things but at that moment she wished she put a little more effort into her appearance. Her sister was the only person in the world who could make her feel that way. Looking at Kelsey was always like looking in the mirror, except that the image staring back at her was a more vibrant, sexier version. Jaxon looked appraisingly at her sister; the way all men did. Of course he would be attracted to her. It made Kate want to vomit.

She straightened her shoulders and looked directly at her sister. “Jaxon is my boyfriend from New York.” There she laid it out there for Kelsey. Kate laid claim to him even though Kelsey hadn’t actually asked a question pertaining to who he was or what he was doing there. The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife. “I’m ready to take that nap now,” she then said to Jaxon icily.

Jaxon looked from one sister to the next and realized he’d better get Kate out of that kitchen before something came to blows between her and her sister. He could sense that Kate was doing all she could to keep her composure in front of her parents. He pulled out his chair and stood in front of Kate’s holding his hand out to her. When she accepted it her pulled her from the chair and brought his mouth to hers giving her a scorching hot kiss. He broke the kiss after a couple of seconds and faced Kate’s family.

“I'm sorry,” But your daughter is just so damn irresistible.”

Her mom fanned herself with her napkin while her dad rolled his eyes at his wife. Jaxon pulled Kate away from the kitchen.

  “Where is your room?”

“Upstairs,” she said still reeling from the kiss. He had such an effect on her. Her plan was to hold back the sex until he gave her the truth about his past, but after that kiss, she was going to give in. But just this once. Next time he would have to tell her.

“I’ve got the bags,” he said. “Lead the way.”

  “Thank you,” she said.

  “For what?”

“For knowing that I needed that kiss.”

Kate opened the door to her childhood bedroom. Nothing much had changed since the last time she was there. She was grateful for the queen sized bed she once shared with Kelsey. A big man like Jaxon wouldn’t fit in anything smaller. The walls were painted a soft pink and the curtains were white and frilly. Her bed spread was a darker shade of pink.

“I never figured you for a girly girl,” Jaxon said, looking around at all of the pink.

“That would be because I'm not,” she replied with a cool tone.

“You shared this room with your sister.” He seemed to realize. “I'm sorry; I know this is hard for you.”

“You know what, it’s fine. And speaking of my sister, I owe you big time.”

  “You do?”

“Yes I do,” she said pushing him toward the bed. “I don't like having debts so I think I would like to pay up now.”

Kate pushed him gently back on to the bed and fell on top of him. She put her nose into his neck and inhaled deeply. He smelled of a decadent masculine sexy man. Her man. He smelled like she remembered… earthy and sexy.

“God, I missed you.” She began to unbutton his shirt.

“I missed you too,” he said, reaching for her. Before she knew it, she was under him. He straddled her while he opened the remaining buttons of his shirt and threw it to the floor. He nuzzled her neck while she ran her hands up and down the hard smooth planes of his back.

Kate could feel his hard erection pressing against her. She began to move against him, to create some friction that would hopefully provide her with some relief from the flames that were burning inside her. God she wanted him. She needed him. He pulled up her shirt and raised it over her head. He tossed it on the floor and it landed next to his own shirt. She was wearing a lacy green demi- bra. He smiled.

“I hope to God your underpants match this bra. I love this colour on you.”

So he liked her in green. She would have to take a trip to Victoria Secrets when she got back to the city and buy every piece of sexy clothing they had in the store, in that colour. But then again didn’t he like her pink set as well? She suddenly felt daring and capable.

“Why don't you see for yourself if my underwear matches?”

The sparks of desire she detected in his eyes caused her to shiver. He wasted no time at all taking her up on her offer. He purposefully pulled down the zipper of her pants and his nostrils flared as he discovered the smallest scrap of green silk barely covering her.

“Oh Kate, be still my heart or you are going to kill me." Even though he professed to love them, her green panties were the next thing to be added to the pile on the floor.

Kate was already wet for him, glistening with desire. Jaxon lowered his head and swiped his hot pink tongue across her heat. She couldn’t help but let out a moan and he did the same.

“You taste like ambrosia, Kate. I will never get enough of the taste of you. I will never get enough of you.”

Jaxon settled into a rhythm with his tongue and Kate was in ecstasy. She was supposed to be the one pleasing him but right now, she couldn't argue. Although, if the sounds he was making were any indication, he sounded pretty dammed pleased at the moment. She could feel his fingers begin to probe her clit. He parted her flesh and inserted a finger, which was quickly replaced by his hot wet tongue. She thought she might combust. She wanted to touch him but she couldn't really do anything but lie there while he ate at her. He ravaged her like a man starved – starved for her.

“God, Kate do you know how desirable you are? Do you know how much I love to worship your body like this?”

Kate couldn't respond, she could only whimper. What he was doing to her was heavenly and she never wanted him to stop.

Jaxon circled the pad of his thumb over her sensitive nub and her torso lifted off the bed on its own accord searching for more. He obliged. She felt like a surfer riding a large wave that would crash any minute, crash and leave her in a state of utter bliss. Before she knew it, Jaxon was completely naked and on top of her. She could feel his hard shaft poking at her entrance.

“I need to feel you Kate. I need to feel your ecstasy.”

He pushed himself into her slick entrance and filled her to the hilt. He pushed into her with a force she didn’t think she had ever felt from him before, like he was trying to push his entire being into her so they could become one.

“Kate, this feels so good. Does this feel good to you too, baby? Tell me how it feels.”

“Gooooood,” she half screamed, half groaned. ‘Sooooo Goooood!”

“I can't hold on much longer. Please come for me. I need to feel you.”

Kate obliged and let the flood gates open. She wasn’t sure if she had ever come so hard before. It was such a whirlwind of force that she felt, like her body was exploding in several places at once. Jaxon joined her, almost immediately, and then he collapsed on the bed beside her. Kate realized, in that moment, that she never wan
ted to be without Jaxon again. A quiet tear rolled down her face. She loved him with every fibre of her being and she couldn’t let him pull away from her again. As crazy as her pipe dream was she was going to do everything it took to make him hers forever. If only she didn’t have that nagging feeling that the worst of their problems was yet to come. The man she loved had secrets and she just knew there was so much she didn’t yet know.

  CHAPTER 21

Kate tried to remember the last time she felt so content. There hadn’t been one. This was it. “They like you. My parents really like you.”

“You didn't want them to know about the club?”

“I'm sorry. I'm not sure what they would think of that.”

  “Does it bother you?"

“That you own a strip club?”

“Does it embarrass you?” He seemed bothered by the possibility.

“Of course not, Jaxon. It’s just that they are from a small town and they don’t really understand things like that. I didn't see the point. I mean this is only a pretend relationship, after all. Next week I will tell them we broke up.”

“Yeah, right okay. He sounded irritated. Why don’t we have a shower and you take me into town?”

“Town? You want to go to town?”

  “Why not?”

“For starters the entire town is about the size of one Manhattan block.”

“I want to see where you grew up.”

“Okay, if you really want to. We can go to the ice cream shop. They have the best Blueberry ice cream.”

“Blueberry ice cream?” He sounded as though she said it was mashed potato and gravy flavour.

“Yes Blueberry. You have never tried Blueberry ice cream?”

  “No.”

“Then you're in for a treat.”

Kate came out of the shower, her lips blue with cold. Apparently her parents had never had shower sex otherwise they would have invested in a larger hot water tank. Even after the water had become ice cold she and Jaxon couldn’t tear themselves apart from each other. Jaxon forced them both out when he finally noticed Kate's shivering was no longer due to the aftershocks of her third orgasm.
