Thirteen Hours

"So, so wonderful," Thad said, murmuring as he watched Hans and milked his orgasm for more. Hans mewled and writhed beneath him. Thad took his hand away only when Hans murmured a quiet plea. After another kiss, Thad slid his hands around Hans's waist, lifting him up on the bed so he could strike him deeper inside.

  "Thad. Oh—"

Thad was soon passionately calling Hans's name. His smiles became strained as he came and then placed Hans back on the bed gingerly. Thad still gripped Han's waist, leaving small fingernail marks in his pale skin.

When they parted to clean up their mess, it was after a kiss and more pleas of love and devotion. Hans remained naked, but he didn't bother to hide himself under the blanket. He liked seeing the marks Thad had made on his body, however temporary. He rose and faced the window and the new dawn outside. The black flowers were still a speck in their garden, but he imagined the rest of the countryside covered in them. He imagined Therese and Joan together, loving each other as long as they could while Therese became famous in her own regard. He imagined Lucinda and Xavier walking through the garden together, Lucinda protecting Xavier from the tulips wherever she could. Then he saw Izzy in his mind's eye, staying by their side for all of this, because she, too, could become something larger and greater than herself.

"What are you looking at?" Thad asked. He slipped his arm around Thad's waist and rested his chin on his shoulder. He was still naked as well, his skin warm and flushed from their shared desire.

"I'm looking at my happy ending, I think."

Thad laughed then peppered more kisses on Hans's body. "You're smart, but you don't know everything, you know. I think you're wrong on this."

"Oh? If not a happy ending, then what is it?"

Thad faced Hans, his outline glowing against the morning sun again. "Hans, this is just the beginning."
