“And rich, which every good-looking gentleman ought to be. There! I give you leave to like him. There are far more stupid people you have been fond of.”
Jane laughed, causing her sister to laugh in turn. “Lizzy!”
“It is true, and you know it is.”
“Very well, Sister. Mr. Bingley was delightful, and very attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed our dance, and I look forward to seeing him again.”
“I do not think you will have to wait long for that. I heard Lady Lucas mention a dinner to Mama to welcome the Bingley party to the neighborhood. I cannot imagine it taking too long to organize. I predict that before the week is out, you will see the handsome Mr. Bingley once more.”
Jane smiled fondly at her closest sister. “I hope you are right, and I hope that he likes me as much as I like him.”
“How could he not?” Elizabeth laughed again at Jane’s rolling eyes.
“I also hope,” Jane continued with a sly smile, “that Mr. Darcy improves upon further acquaintance.”
It was now Elizabeth’s turn to roll her eyes. “Let us hope so.”
Just then, their mother’s voice could be heard, calling them downstairs to attend her, and they rose to heed her summons.

Zoe Burton first fell in love with Jane Austen’s books in 2010, after seeing the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice on television. While making her purchases of Miss Austen’s novels, she discovered Jane Austen Fan Fiction; soon after that she found websites full of JAFF. Her life has never been the same. She began writing her own stories when she ran out of new ones to read.
Zoe lives in the snow-belt of Ohio. She is a former Special Education Teacher, and has a passion for romance in general, Pride and Prejudice in particular, and NASCAR.
