Their Rebellious Submissive (Office Intrigue Book 3) Page 27

by Nicole Edwards

I could only assume, based on everything that had happened thus far, that things were only going to get more intense.

“I can’t stop thinking about you, either,” I admitted, smiling up into his face.

When Mr. Parker leaned down and kissed me softly, I held back the moan that threatened.

It was bad enough I was already falling for them. The last thing I needed was them to figure it out.

  Twenty-Nine

  ADDISON

BY THE TIME EVERYONE DESCENDED on the hotel bar at six o’clock, things were getting lively. At Luci’s urging, I had walked over with her and Jordan. When we arrived, Dale was there, which was apparently a surprise to Jordan. After we got drinks and took a seat at a high table along the wall, we waited for the others to join us.

Not too much later, Landon and Langston appeared. While they ordered drinks at the bar, Luci went over to stand with them. Then Jordan excused himself, taking Dale’s hand and leading him to the other side of the bar.

So, while I sat there alone, wondering if Mr. Snowden and Mr. Parker were going to show up, I felt a little self-conscious sitting by myself. My thoughts drifted back to the envelope that Mr. Snowden had presented me with after I’d received my punishment from Mr. Parker. It ended up being their latest test results that were on file at the club. Master Edge had brought theirs, as well as mine. Oddly enough, I wasn’t bothered by it. Mr. Parker had then informed me that we would not be using condoms going forward. I secretly liked that we had moved to that level of trust between us.

Granted, intercourse hadn’t been our main method of pleasure up to this point, but I took that as a good sign. Even thinking about the way Mr. Parker had taken me that day had my body heating.

  “Addison?”

At the sound of my name, I slowly turned, pasting a smile on my face as I searched for the person calling out to me. The man walking toward me with purpose was familiar, but for the life of me, I couldn’t remember his name.

“Bill,” he offered helpfully as though I’d asked the question aloud.

He held out his hand and I dutifully held out mine.

And then I remembered where I knew him from.

“Oh, right.” I reduced the wattage on my grin when he opted not to let go of my hand. “From dinner with Mr. Parker and Mr. Snowden. I’m sorry. With so many people…”

  “No need to apologize, honey.”

  Honey? Yuck.

“I saw you over here by yourself, thought maybe you’d like some company.”

No, actually, I wouldn’t. But rather than shoot him down, I opted for polite. He was one of the firm’s clients, after all. “I’m waiting for someone, actually.”

“Well, why don’t I wait with you?”

I managed to pull my hand from his grip and tried to be discreet as I wiped it on my skirt. “That’s very kind of you.”

“Can I get you another drink?”

“No, I’m…uh…limiting myself to one tonight.” Not that I needed to explain myself, but for some reason, I had the urge to keep talking. That was probably due to the fact that Bill was eyeing me like I was dessert. It was rather creepy.

I recalled the way he had eyed me that night when I’d been invited to dinner with Mr. Parker and Mr. Snowden on my first day. It had seemed strange, especially since he’d been wearing a wedding ring when we were introduced, but by the time dinner was over, the wedding ring was missing. Which made him uber-creepy in my book.

“Are you from around here?” he asked.

“I am. Lived in the area all my life.”

  “Me, too.”

Oh. Great. Now he probably thought we had something in common.

“So, how are things with the new job? Are they treating you well?”

“It’s great,” I told him. “I’m learning something new every day.”

“Since we work in the same building, I thought we might run into each other more often.”

“I do go to the sandwich shop frequently,” I said, simply to fill the weird silence. “It’s possible you’ll see me around from time to time.”

“That’s a great idea,” he replied, his eyes widening. “I could definitely do lunch. How about one day next week?”

Oh, God. He had completely misunderstood what I’d said. The guy with the wedding ring actually thought I was inviting him to lunch?

  “I…uh…” Yeah. No.

  Shit.

Bill’s grin widened and I had the urge to hop off my chair and put some space between us. As it was, he was invading my personal space and making me incredibly uncomfortable. But I was literally backed into a corner, so I didn’t have a choice but to sit there and silently wish him to go away.

It only got worse when he turned and put his arm over my shoulder so that we were both facing the bar.

“Do you come here often? I haven’t been able to make it by in a while. But on Friday nights, several of us like to stop in and have a drink after a hard week. I can introduce you to some people if you’d like,” he offered.

He didn’t even give me a chance to turn him down.

“That woman over there, the one with the green shoes…that’s Diana. And the guy beside her is Chet. They both work in my office.”

Was he seriously going to do this? Why would I even care who these people were?

Now that I wasn’t forced to look at him, I scanned the room, hoping to find Luci or Jordan or…hell, anyone with a pulse who could get me out of this.

“And that one right there, the short…rotund guy. That’s Jim.”

Someone cleared their throat and I damn near launched into the air. I turned to see Mr. Snowden standing not two feet away on my other side.

“Mr. Snowden,” I greeted, dislodging myself from Bill as I hopped off my chair. “I’m so glad you could make it.”

His eyes assessed me for long moments and I prayed he could tell I hadn’t invited Bill over here. And I certainly hadn’t invited him to touch me.

“I actually need you to help me with something,” Mr. Snowden said casually, but there was definitely a dark undertone to his words. He wasn’t happy.

“Of course.” I turned to Bill who was watching us intently. “Duty calls.”

He nodded curtly. “No problem. But remember what I said. Let’s have lunch next week. My treat.”

Even though there were several inches between me and Mr. Snowden, I felt his body tense as soon as the words were out of Bill’s mouth. Rather than add fuel to the fire, I simply offered a wan smile, then turned to Mr. Snowden. The look I gave him practically pleaded for him to get me out of there.

“If you’ll excuse us,” Mr. Snowden said, his tone polite, but the gleam in his eyes reflected his fury.

I started walking and Mr. Snowden moved in close behind me, his hand on the small of my back.

“Where’re we going?” I asked, keeping my voice down.

  “Just keep walking.”

Okay then. He was being awfully cryptic.

And if I wasn’t mistaken, he was quite pissed.

  The question was…why?

We stepped out of the bar, then headed down the wide, carpeted hallway that appeared to lead to the hotel’s ballrooms. Before we got to the very end, Mr. Snowden pulled me into a smaller hallway, this one dark.

The next thing I knew, I was up against the wall, Mr. Snowden’s body crowding me before his mouth crushed down on mine.

I moaned, then slid my hands inside his suit jacket and around his waist.

“Don’t ever let me see another man touching you,” he snarled between kisses. “That asshole’s lucky I didn’t kill him.”

  Was he jealous? Seriously?

For some reason, that made me feel good.

That or it was the way he practically devoured me, his hand sliding down the back of my thigh, then hooking behind my knee. He ground his cock against me while his tongue plundered my mouth. I moaned, unable to get close enough.

  “Do you understand, precious?”
r />   I nodded, unwilling to stop kissing him. “I understand, Mr. Snowden. I will make sure no other men ever touch me. No one but you and Mr. Parker.”

He groaned, an approving sound that had my body lighting up.

  JUSTIN

THE MOMENT I STEPPED INTO the bar and noticed Bill talking to Addison, I knew what was going down. And the instant I saw my pup making a beeline for them, I realized he was about to stake his claim.

Not that I could blame him. Over the course of the past few weeks, Ben and Addison had spent quite a bit of time together. He had texted me while I was out of town and given me updates. I was slightly disappointed that nothing had happened since our naughty nurse scene, but I was holding out hope. Unfortunately, I knew Ben was holding himself back. Whether it was out of respect for me or solely because he didn’t want to overwhelm Addison, I wasn’t sure.

Regardless of his reasons, they were getting closer, there was no doubt about that. And I was sure that Ben wouldn’t make a scene with Bill, but he was going to need to do something to prove—if only to himself—that Addison belonged to him. Ben was territorial that way.

So, while Ben escorted Addison out of the bar, I made my way over to Bill. He was drinking a beer and glancing around as though Addison would simply reappear and be ready to go…wherever a cheating husband took a woman he picked up at a bar.

“Bill,” I greeted, my tone firm.

His eyes widened as he looked over at me.

  “Justin. What a pleasant surprise.”

No, it wasn’t. I could tell by the sound of his voice.

“I noticed you were talking to my secretary,” I stated. There was no point in beating around the bush. I had discreetly warned him off Addison once. Since that didn’t work, I was going to ensure he was clear regarding where I stood on the matter.

“We were just talking. She mentioned going to lunch.”

“She mentioned?” That didn’t sound like Addison at all.

“Well, she said she frequents the sandwich shop. I offered to buy her lunch.”

With my hands in my pockets, I attempted to appear cool and calm. “I informed you that she wasn’t available.”

He smiled, but it came across more as a sneer. “So you said. I figured I could give her the chance to tell me that.”

Lowering my voice so that the entire bar didn’t hear me, I took one step closer. “Bill, you’re a married man with a kid at home. You have no business hitting on any woman. Whether she’s single or not.”

That clearly wasn’t what he wanted to hear, but he was smart enough not to deny it.

“And when I said Addison was spoken for, I meant it.”

Bill’s gaze cut to the direction Ben and Addison had gone.

“Is she dating…?” His eyes moved back to my face. “I thought you and Ben were a couple.”

  “We are,” I confirmed.

“So, what? He can step out on you, but you’re going to warn me away?” He barked a laugh. “Typical.”

“Let’s just say Ben and I have an open relationship.” I cocked one eyebrow. “As do Addison and I.”

  Bill frowned.

I took another step closer. “Since I obviously wasn’t clear the first time I told you she wasn’t available, I’ll make sure you understand this time. Addison belongs to me and Ben. Don’t make me have to say it again. The next time, I won’t be so kind.”

Not waiting for a response, I turned and headed toward the bar. Bill was a client, but that didn’t mean I was going to sit back and let him encroach on what was mine. The man had a wife and kid, for fuck’s sake. He needed to show a little respect for his vows and for the family he’d created. And if he didn’t, he would be looking for another firm to represent him, because that was the sort of shit I couldn’t tolerate.

When Ben and Addison didn’t return a few minutes later, I opted to go in search of them. If for no other reason than to ensure that Ben was all right. I knew he’d been worked up when he saw Bill’s arm around Addison. It had pissed me off, too, but I’d been privy to Bill’s previous interest in her. I knew Addison wasn’t the least bit attracted to him. It was written all over her face.

I found Ben and Addison in a darkened hallway on the main floor of the hotel. It looked to be a service area. Good thing most of those people had probably already gone home for the evening. Otherwise, they would’ve been in for quite the show.

Leaning one shoulder against the wall, I observed the two of them. Watching as Ben practically inhaled Addison was quite the treat. The man was holding back, but just barely. The way he pressed her up against the wall… The only thing keeping him from impaling her on his cock was the fact they were both dressed.

When it was evident they had no idea I was there, I finally cleared my throat. Ben merely turned his head toward me while Addison hid her face in his shoulder.

“You okay?” I asked him, pushing off the wall and moving closer.

“I will be,” he said, his eyes meeting mine.

It was then that I saw the unadulterated lust in his golden gaze. He didn’t even need to speak for me to know that he was desperate for something. I had previously wondered how I would know what Ben needed, but evidently, there was a silent communication between the two of us that was more than enough for me.

“I don’t think Bill will make the mistake of hitting on her again,” I told him.

Ben nodded his head. “Thank you.”

  “My pleasure, pup.”

And that deep, dark need that was so prominent inside me roared to the surface. Tonight, we weren’t going to be bystanders, forced to keep our distance. Tonight, I wasn’t going to sit back and watch my pup dominate our little rebel like I’d initially thought I would.

No. Tonight, I was going to dominate them both.

And I was going do to it my way.

  “Come here, pup,” I ordered.

Ben stepped back from Addison, taking her hand before turning to face me.

  “Little rebel.”

The blush on her face was quite appealing. It gave me an idea.

“It hasn’t been that long since we role played,” I stated. “But I think it’s time for another scene.” I focused on Addison. “It’s important that you understand up-front that I take these scenes seriously. No matter where we are. I expect one hundred percent, which means it’s imperative you get into character. If at any time you feel it necessary, you can use your safe word. Or if you need to slow things down, use yellow.”

There was a hint of intrigue in her gaze, which I liked.

  “Yes, Mr. Parker.”

“Good.” I glanced between them. “Now, I want the two of you to go back out to the bar. You’re on a date, so have a drink, laugh a little. Then, when you’re ready, invite Ben back to your place,” I told Addison. “Take as much time as you need. The only other requirement is that when I arrive, you both need to be stripped down to your underwear.” I narrowed my eyes. “Not naked.”

  Ben nodded his understanding.

“I’m going to be the man who goes to his girlfriend’s place to find her in bed with another man.”

Addison’s eyes widened. “You want me to pretend to be a cheating girlfriend?”

“That’s exactly what I want. Do you have a problem with that?”

  “No, Mr. Parker.”

“I want you making out on the bed when I arrive. Then you’ll follow my lead from there. Any questions?”

Addison shook her head, and I could see the interest in her gaze. I doubted she’d ever role played quite the way that I did it, but she hadn’t balked at any of my suggestions so far. Perhaps she was eager to see just how far I was willing to go.

In fact, tonight would be a night that girl would never forget.

“SHALL WE HAVE A DRINK?” I suggested after Mr. Parker left the two of us alone in the hallway once more.

It was a tough decision, one that actually surprised me. At my a
ge, making out in a hallway wasn’t the norm, yet the instant I saw that man’s arm around Addison, I’d lost my shit. Every possessive instinct in my body had come to life and the only thought had been to claim this woman as soon as fucking possible.

I was slightly embarrassed by my response, but there was nothing I could do to change that now. Might as well move on with the evening, see what Mr. Parker had in store for us.

“I’d love to,” she said, smiling sweetly.

And I knew right then that she was already in character.

I admired that about her. It was something that was necessary if anything was to come of what was transpiring between the three of us. If I had to identify one serious kink of the man I loved, it was role playing.

“Very well. Then we’ll pick up where we left off later tonight.”

Addison’s smile was radiant. “I look forward to it, Mr. Snowden.”

Placing my hand on the small of her back, I led Addison back to the bar. The place had filled up quite nicely for a Friday evening. It was a casual place, but one that people congregated to whenever they needed some down time. Nothing fancy, but it was nice.

My gaze scanned the room, searching for Bill. I was glad to see that he wasn’t there. Perhaps Mr. Parker had said something to send him on his way. Not that it mattered, but I wanted to spend some time with Addison, not worry whether or not some asshole was going to hit on her again.

I led her over to a table, then went back to the bar and ordered a glass of Glenlivet for myself and white wine for Addison. When I returned, she was still sitting there, smiling sweetly.

I noticed Mr. Parker talking to Landon, Luci, and Langston. Zeke and Greg were also there, chatting amongst themselves. I considered talking to them but decided I would focus on my date. After all, I didn’t get this sort of opportunity often.

“So, what is it that you do?” she asked politely when I took my seat beside her.

“I’m in advertising and public relations,” I said.

“Oh, really?” She seemed genuinely pleased by that. “I work in public relations, myself.”

  “Do you?”

“I do. I love it, actually. The people I work with are so nice.”
