  EXCERPT

Settling on top of the bed, she grabbed the phone and lay back on top of the covers. The ringing continued to echo throughout the room as a final moment of hesitation crept into the air before she answered.

  “Hi.”

“Hello,” the male voice replied on the other end.

It was him. She could never forget his voice. The huskiness and deep tone sent shivers down her spine. It would make any woman melt with desire.

  “Who’s this?” she asked teasingly.

“Daniel. Were you expecting someone else?”

“No, only you. I’ve been thinking about you all day. Waiting for your call since your message. Thank you for the beautiful present you sent me.”

“Did you do what I asked?”

  “Yes.”

  “So who are you tonight?”

“Karina, but I can be whoever you want me to be.”

Her voice dropped down to a whisper. The nervousness hadn’t subsided. She was sure that he’d be able to tell what was going on with her. Taking a deep breath, she slowly inhaled and then exhaled in hopes it would help settle her a little bit. It did, but not as much as she would’ve liked it to.
