'When you have another ring behind this one,' Dan murmured, kissing her fingers, 'you'll believe it.'
He looked deeply into her eyes, love and joy burning in his own.
'I glory in having you, my Anna. You're every dream come true!'
The same look was in Anna's eyes before he closed them with tender kisses. And two weeks later, as Dan's launch, repaired and newly painted, coasted in to Amara Cay, Anna turned to him with a happy, confident laugh.
'Abe has seen to everything!' she said delightedly 'It looks just as it looked when I first came here!'
'Except then, you didn't know that it was all for you, that you belonged here with me,' Dan reminded her, lifting her to the small new quay. 'Do you know now, darling?'
'Yes, I know!'
The dark eyes flashed with happiness, every last wistful look gone, and he swung her up into his arms as Josie came to the door, her face wreathed with smiles to welcome Anna home.
