“Nick told me he’s not going to re-enlist and has an interview with the Omega Team.”

“Tomorrow afternoon. I’ll introduce him, then the rest is up to him.”

His mother sighed. “I worry about him. Between your father’s death and Joann’s, he’s closed himself off from everything.”

“The Omega Team will be a good change of pace for him.”

Mia appeared at his side, holding out a beer. “Thanks baby.” He spread his legs, resting his feet on the concrete and patted the chair. She slid between his legs, leaning back on his chest. Seemed his life came full circle.

“I haven’t had the chance to tell you how sorry I am that all this put you in danger,” Mia said.

His mother waved her hand in the air. “I didn’t even know I was in danger until after the fact. Really, the only negative is I have to find a new secretary. Can’t believe I didn’t recognize her as someone Dylan dated. I even contemplated fixing them up.”

Logan shook his head, ignoring the statement. “If you really feel the need to continue to work, why don’t you just run the agency? You could then take more time for yourself. Maybe take up golf?” Logan tried to give his mother his best rendition of his father’s ‘I’m right, listen to me’ look, but by the way his mother laughed, it didn’t work out too well. He tipped his beer and swigged.

“Tell you what.” His mother patted his shoulder. “I’ll reduce my working hours if you knock this one up.”

He coughed and gagged, some of the beer drizzled out onto Mia’s shoulder, who covered her face with both hands, shaking her head.

“Geez Mom. I can’t believe you said that out loud.” Though he wasn’t too shocked since his mother was all about babies.

His mother stood. “I’ll let you two ponder that thought. But remember. I’ll never be the mother of the bride, so the marriage thing?” She shrugged. “Not concerned with. But grandbabies? Little Sarich grandbabies? Yeah. I don’t want to wait too long for those.” With that statement, his mother turned and walked toward Mia’s parents.

“Oh, God,” Logan whispered, resting his hand on her taut stomach. Her skin drenched with the hot sun. “She’s going to talk babies with your parents.”

Mia’s middle tightened as she let out a soft laugh. “I think our mothers have started knitting little booties together.”

“That’s nuts.” He fanned is thumb across her soft skin below her belly button. His mind wondering what it would be like to see her mid-section swell with a new life.

“Not as crazy as us taking fourteen years to realize we loved each other.”

“I suppose.” He dropped his chin to her head. “We haven’t talked about this, but any chance you can move to Tampa?”

“That can be arranged, but I have a few demands.”

  “Okay?” He swallowed.

“I’m not moving there to live alone, so I want to move in with you. I’m still going to work, but might change a few things about my career, but I don’t expect you to give up the Omega Team.”

“All good with me.” He kissed her temple.

  “There’s more.”

“I'm listening.” He took a sip of his beer. He’ll agree to any and all of her demands as long as he got to spend the rest his life making hers better.

“The bootie thing? I don’t want them to have to wait too long to actually make the booties. Maybe two years? Tops?”

He spewed his beer for the second time. Sure, his mind had wondered there, but he never expected her to voice it so…so…confidently.

  “You don’t like that idea?”

He cleared his throat. “No. I actually like it a lot. Totally on board with it…did I just say that?” He tilted her chin to the side. “Mia Vanderlin, what have you done to me?”

She smiled, twisting her body until they were chest to chest.

“Our parents are watching,” he whispered, trying not to glance to the other side of the pool and ignoring the heckles coming from his brothers.

“Considering they want us to give them grandchildren, I don’t think anyone of them are going to have any problem with a little public display of affection.”

He growled, wrapping his arms around her body. “Are you gonna kiss me, or what?”
