  Captain’s Log, Solar Wind, 15 May 2116.

  Nearly at Prime Oil Base.

Ailyss Quinlan has cracked. She is the Unicate agent, as we suspected. Some surprises though. Turns out she has a younger brother, Keenan, and the Rebellion captured him. Forced her hand into betraying herself. How does the Rebellion know about Ailyss and where did they find her brother? There are missing pieces in this picture too!

I’m personally extremely proud of my crew, especially the younger ones. Who would have thought? They came up for her in unanimous solidarity, shielding her from justice. Pirates! It saves me having to explain why I didn’t want to put her to death in the first place.

Federi is not to be moved into getting involved with her in order to control her. Actually cut himself in anger when I suggested it. Or perhaps that was an accident. Wondering if I shouldn’t take that stiletto away from him, he might hurt himself one day!

Concerning Ailyss, I hope the alternative plan, binding her to the ship by loyalty and friendship, is going to work – does she have it in her? Donegal Magic was mentioned in that context. And a complete surprise – Federi pledging his life to guarantee hers, although his instinct dictates that she should be executed. Wonder why he did that. It did give me the official loophole past Pirate Law though.

Tzigan went against my orders today, wonder what’s eating the man. So did Verushka. Shall have to pull her up. Fraternizing with the new crew.

The Rebellion has been dealt a blow, we have eliminated six more of their Schooners. Admiral will be pleased. Also at the news of the Rebellion port on Hiva Oa. Will have to occupy that. I’ll leave that coup to the Admiral. Got to leave some of the good bits for him!

New pirate, Captain Salvatore Rodriguez, best of luck to him. That makes two within three weeks. Great going!

  R. Lascek (Pir. Capt.)

The National Hymn of Southern Free

  Mahala ! Mahala!

  Mahala Freedom! (uh-hum!)

  Mahala people! (uh-hum!)

  Mahala Crime!! (oh yeah!)

We are the Free Free Country, Mahala…

  We are the Southern Freebies…

  No tax (uh-hum!)

  No work (uh-hum!)

  Mahala peace (and quiet, yeah!)

  Plenty business (uh-hum!)

  Ubuntu ! (uh-hum!)

God bless our freedom! (oh yeah!)

We are the Free Free Country, Ubuntu

  We are the Southern Freebies…

  (Ubuntu, uh-hum! Mahala, uh-hum!) x2

  (uh-hum, uh-hum! Chicky-bum*!)

  The Solar Wind sails on:

The Assassin (The Solar Wind II)

“They’re tightening the net. Captain does have a plan, but it relies on running and hiding. All hells, that’s never going to be enough!”

Federi foresees about three weeks of future for the Solar Wind, after which – the end. What is hiding in those data capsules makes the forecast worse. Even if the Solar Wind manages to escape the Unicate somehow, Earth won’t.

The Solar Wind III: Freedom Fighter

"Keep an eye on them, Federi!"

Captain Rushka Donegal on the bridge! But the young girl doesn't feel up to running a ship full of unruly young crew. And then they come across disaster... So it falls to Federi to pick up the pieces while his Captain is not aboard. And while he rolls his dramatic eyes and gets things done, Paean Donegal arms up and signs on for the Fight for Freedom.

  The Solar Wind IV: Raider!

Alien Touchdown! If the crew of the Solar Wind thought the Unicate and the Rebellion were tough cookies, they haven't yet met the Danaan - from Planet New Dome. Coming to take over Earth - or destroy the planet. Or alternatively, for a mango daiquiri in the subtropical paradise of Southern Free. And then destroy the planet.

The Solar Wind V: The Morrigan

The Solar Wind takes off into space, trying to loot - or help loot - Dana’s treasure. An ancient treasure that has been set up millennia in the past for the immortal Danaan. The path takes them into territory for which they are in no way prepared: Deep interstellar space, and foreign galaxies.

How much is really known about those vast uncharted realms? How safe are they in the hands of a raider who might still turn around and blow up the Earth anyway? Strange little aliens invade the Solar Wind and start messing with the crew and an evil entity tries to take them over, not that the added complications are needed, because Captain is already acting quite deranged...
