Bet On It Page 15

by Elizabeth Perry

“Listen, I’m sorry baby, ok? I promise I’ll wear one from here on out, if that’s what you want.”

“Yes, that’s what I want!” she glares at me, as I rise out of the bed and start moving towards her. She takes a step back, hitting the wall before waving her finger at me.

“Oh no you don’t, Jake Matthews. You will not make me lose focus of being mad at you by coming at me with that sexy body of yours.”

I grin slyly at her, before caging her in against the wall.

“You think I’m sexy?” I wink at her, and she rolls her eyes.

“Really? Do you really need me to repeat it? Isn’t your head already big enough?”

My dick twitches, before, like always, turning firm from being so close to her.

“My head is actually getting pretty big right now.”

I reach down, grabbing my shaft once and stroking upwards, as her eyes follow and she licks her lips.

“Dammit, hot shot.” She blows out her breath, as her lust filled eyes land back on mine.

“One more time.” I smirk at her, and she cuts her eyes at me.

  “That isn’t what I meant.”

“One more time bare inside of you, baby. Please. You know you want it.”

“I do.” She whimpers, as her breathing becomes ragged. “You know that I do, that’s why you’re so dangerous for me.”

I reach under her and lift her up, bracing her against me.

  “Tell me yes, then.”

I pause at her entrance, running the head of my dick through her slick folds, as she shivers against me.

  “Jake.”

“Say yes.” I growl, as her head falls back and she moans yes long and loud, as I slide inside of her, right where I belong.

“Damn, Matthews.” Brock high fives me as I trot across home plate, after my second home run of the night. “I’m almost ready to forgive you for the ten-grand that I just had to shell out.”

He slaps me on my back, as I jog to the dugout, after waving up to the stands towards my parents, and winking at Laci who is on her feet cheering loudly.

The entire crowd boo’s me, but whatever. Fuck them. It only fuels me to play better.

And, well, let’s be honest. The amount of orgasms that I had last night aren’t hurting things either.

I should be exhausted, since we barely got any sleep, but instead? I feel like a new man.

“It’s not his fault we had to shell out ten-grand.” Eric grumbles, glaring at Brock. “It’s your fault. You’re the fucking idiot who posted all of that shit to Snapchat!”

“I love Snapchat.” Brock counters, before placing his hand over his heart. “Like, really love it.”

“Yeah? Well then you can pay me back ten-grand then, fuck face.” He rolls his eyes before flashing them to me. “Seriously. He put a video of us and those two chicks on his snapchat story. The same snapchat story that someone is hired to manage.”

I step past them, as they continue to argue, before finding a seat on the bench and taking a drink out of the water handed to me.

“Nice job son.” Coach pats my shoulder, before glancing back onto the field. “Way to show these fuckers that they don’t faze you.”

It’s our last game in the series. We wrapped up yesterdays with another big win, and I wrapped up my evening burying myself inside of Laci.

All in all, it’s turned out to be a damn good weekend, despite all the booing. And as long as we continue to hold the Devils, we will be walking away sweeping this entire series.

“Sounds like you’re the only one staying behind.” Eddie tells me, as he plops a squat next to me.

“Yeah. Me and Laci.” It’s out before I can even stop it, and his head snaps in my direction, as his eyebrows raise.

“Oh yeah? Is that so?” His head tilts towards me and he shakes his head. “Man…”

“She has to stay.” I rush on. “Coach said so.”

“Ah.” He nods again before glancing around, and then bringing his head right up next to my ear. “Did coach also say that she had to sleep in your room the last two nights?”

“What?” he has my full attention. He rolls his eyes before standing up. “Don’t play stupid, Matthews. I saw her leave yesterday and today. Anything you wanna tell me?”

“Yeah. Mind your own fucking business.”

He grins wide, flashing me his teeth. “You got it man. You already know that I can keep a secret. You aren’t gonna tell the other guys?”

I don’t answer. I just glare at him.

“Richards struck out boys. Time to take the field.” Coach whips his head around

“That’s what I thought.” His smirk fills up his whole damn face as he reaches down a hand to me and pulls me to stand.

  “Does she know?”

  “Know what?”

“Dude.” He tosses me my glove as we start onto the field. “She mean something to you?”

When I don’t respond, he answers for me. “So, that’s a yes. You gotta tell her about the bet. If she finds out another way…”

He doesn’t need to finish. I already know.

If she finds out another way, she will never want anything to do with me again.

“We’re here.” He murmurs, as he pulls the truck into the driveway that is packed full of cars.

I look at the modest ranch house that seems to sprawl on, but if anything, it looks like a normal home of a normal family. Not what I imagined, but it’s beautiful none the less. I guess maybe in my mind I imagined that his family would live in some enormous mansion, but turns out, it looks like an average house of the average family.

  “Oh, wow. Big party?”

“Yeah. It usually is. My mom invites everyone.” He rolls his eyes, but his smile tells me he is far from annoyed. “It would probably be bigger if half of the town didn’t hate me.”

I let my eyes flutter up to his, and I’m immediately sorry that I do, because for a second, I get lost in the pools of blue that I have been fighting like mad to avoid.

Only because the second that I look into his eyes, I end up being a wobbling pool of want and need for this man, and that is the last thing that I need right now.

I’m about to meet his parents, for goodness sake.

After about ten outfit changes, I had finally decided on a light blue sundress, but now, as I am sitting so close to Jake, and his breath is soft on my skin, I’m wishing that I had more clothing on.

Like maybe a snowsuit of something.

“I don’t understand how anyone could hate you.” I murmur, and he reaches over, pushing a lock of hair out of my face, letting his thumb stroke my cheek for just a moment, before his hand drops back down.

“Thank you, baby.” He presses a kiss to the tip of my nose, before opening the door to his truck.

He hops out, before waving at me to put my hand down as I start to reach for the door. He jogs over to my door and opens it, before holding up a hand to help me down.

“We’re in the south, sweetheart. If my Momma saw you opening your own door, there would be hell to pay for me.” He winks, as he takes my hand and helps me step down. The second my hand is in his, sparks shoot through my entire body and I inhale sharply. His eyes darken as he pulls me into his body so that he can shut the door behind me.

  “Jake.”

  “Laci.”

My heart begins to race, as he moves his body towards mine.

I take a step back from him, putting some distance between us as his eyes stay firmly on me.

He chuckles softly, before shaking his head, letting his thumb stroke my palm.

“Why are you always running away from me? I feel like I’m always having to back you into a wall to get you to look at me.”

“I like it when you back me into the wall.” I tease, but then shut my mouth, as his eyes darken.

“Dammit, baby. We may not make it inside, and I am totally ok with that.”

  “Jake…”

“Laci.” His mouth moves towards m
ine, as his lips brush softly over me. “Fuck.” He mutters, before stepping back and reaching down, adjusting himself in his shorts.

“Now I have to walk back there with a raging hard on.”

  “Poor baby.”

“If I stand here any longer with you, your legs are going to be spread and you will be screaming out my name. C’mon. I want you to meet everyone.”

Before I even have time to respond, my hand is back in his, and I’m tugged through the front yard, towards the side of the house, stopping at a large white fence. Jake pauses for just a second, before glancing at me and giving me a small smile.

“Ok, just so you’re aware, my mom is probably going to latch onto you. And she will probably squeeze you, and maybe kiss you.” I watch as he cringes, before sighing loudly. “But I promise she means well. It’s just…” he gives me a sheepish look before staring into my eyes. “It’s been a really long time since I’ve brought a woman home.”

I get a wink, before he flips a latch on the fence, and suddenly, I’m face to face with at least a hundred people.

It’s the epitome of an American cookout.

Kids are running through the yard, jumping into the large pool off to the side. There are groups of people everywhere, laughing, drinking and talking, while an older man who looks identical to Jake stands in front of a huge bar-b-que, wearing a white chef’s hat and an apron that says, “Kiss the cook.”

“Jakey boy!” A small dark-haired woman screeches, as she comes flying down the deck steps and throws herself into his arms.

“Hey Momma.” He grabs her, spinning her around as she reaches up, taking his face in her hands and smothering him with kisses.

“Mom, ok.” He turns red as she smooches him continuously. “Momma, ok. Ok.”

“Lorraine, leave that boy alone.” The man in the chef’s hat says with a laugh, grabbing his wife and setting her on the ground, before throwing his arms around Jake and patting him hard on the back.

  “Welcome home, Son.”

Everyone now notices Jake, and he is instantly swarmed with hugs, and hellos, high fives, and handshakes. I step back to the side, allowing everyone access to him.

His mother’s eyes land on me, and I notice that they are identical to his. Actually, he looks just like her, which is ironic, because he looks an awful lot like his dad too. She has a darker skin tone like his, he has the same dark hair and light blue eyes. She smiles at me, showing off two dimples exactly like his, before wrapping her arms around me.

“You must be Laci.” She tells me, as she squeezes me into a death grip hug.

“Yes.” I squeak, before I feel strong arms around me pulling me back slightly.

I glance up and see Jake, smiling down at his mom and me.

“Momma, she’s just a little thing, ok? Don’t break her.”

“I’m sorry, honey.” She tells me, reaching up and running a lock of my hair through her hands. “She is beautiful.” Her eyes land back on mine. “I’m sorry, you are beautiful, just like Jake said, dear.”

“Yes, she is.” Jake looks at me as he says the words, making that weak feeling come back. Dammit all. What a mess this man makes me.

“We’re so glad that you could make it.” His parents say, as he mother nods fiercely, before grabbing my arms.

“Yes, we certainly are so happy to meet you. Jake here has told us so much about you.” My eyes must widen, because for real? He has talked about me to his parents?

I glance up to Jake, who looks like he wants to crawl under a rock.

“Thanks guys. I can always count on you to embarrass me.”

“Don’t be embarrassed dear! I can totally understand why you are so smitten with her.”

Her eyes are soft on mine as she links an arm with me.

“You really are just so beautiful. The two of you could give me some gorgeous grandchildren.” She then winks at me, as I nearly choke, and Jake does much of the same.

  “Oh my god, Momma, please.”

“Don’t you get mad at her, now, hot shot.” A gorgeous woman comes up alongside Jake, before elbowing him. “Can you blame her for wanting you to quit being such a whore and settle down? All the woman wants is a few grandkids from her only son.”

Ok. Stick a fork in me, because I am done.

Toast. Completely finished. We’ve been sleeping together for less than a week, and now I’m supposed to be bearing his children?

Jake squeezes his eyes shut, before giving me a pained look and mouthing “I’m so sorry.”

“Laci, this is my sister Jen.” He glares at his sister before pointing to me. “Jen, this is Laci, the woman who I may have had a shot with until you all just ruined it for me.”

I instantly like Jen. She rolls her eyes high before waving her hand at her brother.

“Oh please. Quit being such a cry baby, Jakey.” She turns her gaze to me, and smiles wide.

“I’m sorry, Laci. My baby brother has always been a little on the dramatic side. Don’t take us seriously by any means. We just don’t get to embarrass him too much anymore, so forgive us for taking advantage of this moment. But, we are all super serious about the grandkid part.” She winks and Jake groans loudly. I don’t think that my eyes can get any wider.

Another equally beautiful woman runs over, but instead of riding Jake like Jen just was, she flies towards him and jumps into his arms.

“Jakey!” she squeals, as he spins her around.

  “Hey B.”

She has his neck in a death grip, squeezing him hard.

He finally sets her down and spins her around towards me.

“Laci, this is my baby sister Bianca.”

“Oh!” she squeals again, before grabbing me and wrapping me in a tight hug, squeezing the air out of me as Jake chuckles and pulls her back.

“I’ve heard all about you! It’s so nice to meet you! It’s been a long time since Jakey had a girlfriend. We’re so happy that you were able to come!”

“Oh, I’m not…” I stare up at Jake with wide eyes. “We’re just friends.” I finish, as all eyes snap to us.

“The hell we are.” Jake whispers, low enough so that only I can hear it, and maybe Bianca, besides a huge smile explodes on her face as the words leave his mouth.

“Ok, ok. That’s enough for right now.” Jake’s head scans his family before grabbing my hand, and pulling me away from his sister.

“I’m going to go and make some rounds. You all obviously need a moment to get yourselves together.”

I nod, pulling out of his grasp. “Ok.”

He chuckles, pulling me closer into his side. “Not you.” He nods at his parents and sisters as he pulls us away. “That was for them.”

  “Oh.”

“You’re with me today, Laci. I’m not letting you out of my sight.”

“Ok. But, can you please tell me why your family thinks that I’m your girlfriend?”

Both of his hands fly to my waist, as he spins me to face him. Our eyes lock, as he smirks slightly at me, before pulling me closer.

“They must have just assumed, being as I am so crazy about you.”

“You told your family that you are crazy about me?” I can’t help the butterflies that erupt in my belly over this. I mean, come on. Could he be any more adorable?

“I didn’t have to. They just knew.”

  “Because you talked about me.”

A finger reaches under my chin, tilting my face up towards his.

“No. Because I couldn’t stop talking about you.”

My heart squeezes in my chest, as he bends down, gently brushing his lips against mine before taking a step back.

Our eyes lock, and just like that, the rest of the world fades away. Suddenly it’s just he and I, staring deep into each other’s eyes, getting completely lost in each other. I feel myself moving towards him, completely being sucked in, when I hear a loud cackle that snaps me out of it.

“See? I knew they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Look at how c
ute they are.”

Jake stiffens at his little sister’s voice, and squeezes his eyes shut, before shaking his head.

  “I swear to fucking god…those people…”

“Love you.” I squeeze his arm, before taking a step back, out of his embrace.

He grumbles something, but I can’t understand all the words. Something to the extent of “They have a funny way of showing it.”

He takes my hand back in his, before leading me across the lawn.

We go to several different groups of people, all who want to hug and kiss Jake. I meet his high school coach, multiple teachers, neighbors, friend’s, parents of friend’s, high school friends, on and on. By the time we’re finally back on the deck by his mom, I’m dizzy from all the hugging and kissing, and I barely remember my own name, let alone the dozens of people that I met.

I’m certain, that I just gained five pounds. Jake was not joking when he said that his dad was the pork bar-b-que master.

It was the best damn food that I have ever had.

I think I maybe orgasmed the second the food hit my lips, and by the time I had polished off my third sandwich, I was feeling like I should never put on a bathing suit again.

But it was just so good, and I couldn’t stop myself even if I tried. Jake had looked on, smiling at me, even though I felt like a piglet and anything but sexy. But hey. Sometimes a girl just needs to eat.

Finally, though, the Georgia heat had caught up to me, and the pool just looked too tempting. So, I managed to squeeze myself into my suit and suck in my stomach to the best of my ability, before plopping a squat at the pools edge.

The beers that I drank have loosened me up a bit. Mix that in with the fun atmosphere of this party, and I’m totally relaxed and having a great time.

Plus? His family has laid off on the girlfriend, grandkid and marriage comments, and while they still look at us and smirk amongst each other, I’m pretty sure that Jake begged them all to stop.

And as much as Jake cringes over the ribbing his family gives him over me, it literally makes my heart feel like it could burst. Everything that he has here, is something that I dreamed of when I was young.

He’s very lucky, and I think while he lets on that they drive him crazy, deep down he wouldn’t change it.
