Veruca leaned back, meeting his eyes, her lips trembling even as they curved into a smile. She kissed him and he tasted tears, though he couldn’t be sure if they were his or hers. Squeezing him tight, she let him know with her entire being just how much he meant to her and he did his best to do the same for her.
When she pulled away, she lifted his hand to her chest, mirroring his action with her own.
“I think we should always be able to find each other.”
Finn felt a familiar tug in his chest and after a moment, when he could see the faintest hint of a glow in her chest, he realized she hadn’t just taken part of him, she’d given him part of her as well.
“Forever,” he said, leaning in to kiss her once again. He couldn’t think of a better word.
