About the Author
William Fotheringham has been the Guardian’s cycling correspondent since 1994, and since then has covered 19 Tours de France and four Olympic Games, launched the magazine Procycling in 1998, and has written best-selling biographies of Tom Simpson, Fausto Coppi and Eddy Merckx. A racing cyclist for over 30 years, William lives in Herefordshire with his wife and two children.
