She looked at the screen and saw that it was, once again, a private number. She thought about ignoring it, but something within her wanted to see who was trying to reach her. Asia reluctantly answered.
“Hello?”
“What's up best friend?” a male voice said.
Asia twisted her face. “Who is this?”
“Oh, so you don’t know my voice now?”
Asia paused for a minute as her heart began to race. Her eyes widened in fear, not believing who she was actually on the phone with.
“Dillon?”
“Yeah it’s me,” he responded with laughter in his voice.
What the fuck, she thought to herself. There was no way that he could be calling her.
“Why are you calling me? Aren’t you supposed to be locked up?”
“Let’s just say that the justice system came through for your boy. But fuck all of that. You and Aimee have been on my mind. It’s about time that we catch up.”
