  A Stepfather’s Intervention

Rebecca looked at her boyfriend and wondered what the hell had gotten into him. He was not like this a week ago. Hell, he was not even like this the previous day. Whatever had happened to him? She could see that he was angry, and she understood that he was angry. Why he was packing his things was a question she could not answer.

“Are you going to talk to me, Kyle?” Rebecca asked as the man shoved his shirts in his suitcase.

“I don’t think there is anything to talk about. You know why I’m packing, Rebecca,” he said and started to zip up the suit case. But the damn thing could not close. He kicked it to the other side of the bed and cursed.

“Kyle! What the hell is happening to you?” Rebecca asked. Never before had she seen the man so angry.

Kyle turned toward her and sat on the bed. “You want to know what is wrong? Your father is. I am not going to live in this house so long as he is paying the rent. I can afford rent somewhere else and the last thing I want is your father breathing down my neck,” the man said.

“I don’t understand. What has my father done?”

“Are you moving out with me or not?” Kyle asked, ignoring his question.

“You cannot just show up one morning and tell me to move out with you. I have a job and responsibilities. What you are asking of me is impossible. Why don’t you tell me what is happening?” Rebecca asked.

“I just want us to move out. Isn’t that enough reason? I make enough money, you make enough money. Why can’t we rent somewhere else?”

“First of all, we do not make enough money. Second, I understand that the idea of my father paying the rent burns you but that is company policy.” The reality of the situation is that he is not the one who paid the rent. It was the company. They were living in a comfortable house, a house they would never be able to afford by themselves.

Only recently, Kyle had hinted marriage to Rebecca and she was waiting for him to propose. They had actually toyed with the idea for a number of days and Rebecca had shown him all the signs of saying yes. It was a point in their lives where they knew they knew they needed to settle down.

Kyle got to his feet and took his suitcase where it lay, some of its contents laying on the floor. He stuffed everything inside and tried to lock it once more. It yielded this time and he was able to zip it up before he walked to the door.

“I cannot force you to come with me. I quit your father’s office and I am going away. Good bye Rebecca,” he said and left.

Rebecca sat there and watched the door for about an hour. She was not sure what to think. The man she loved had just left the house and her life at the same time. She tried to cry but no tears could come to her eyes. She went through their lives and saw no flaw. She had been a good girlfriend. Maybe she worked too hard, but then again, so did he. They worked in the same office. The only difference was that she was his boss, or handler.

He liked mentioning that she was his boss, something Rebecca did not want to think about. She knew that sooner or later, it would bring problems. Now here she was, seated on her bed with her eyes on the door because the man she loved had left.

Rebecca got to her feet and thought about what had happened. Nothing seemed to come straight to her. Every thought was jumbled. He had mentioned her father. What did her father had to do with this? She wondered. Then again she realized that the two men had been at war for the last six years.

There was something about Kyle that the man never liked. The worst thing about her father was that he did not know how to sugarcoat anything. He was a rough and honest man. He feared no one and always told the truth like it was. He was also not her biological father. He had only joined her life as her father when she turned sixteen.

He and her mother had fallen for each other and they had hit it off pretty well. Rebecca had been too young to care. During her teenage years, she did not care much about what her mother was doing. She had her life to live and the truth was her decision to not meddle in her mother’s affair had born the best of results.

The man had not taken long to marry her. He was a good man after all. His name was Jake, a large no nonsense man who approached Rebecca on their very first meeting and told her he was going to marry her mother. He did not wish to have any problems with her. Rebecca had not cared. They had been in a period marred with financial instability. Her mother was working two jobs after her dick of a husband left with another woman.

Rebecca’s mother had started working immediately her husband left, sometimes even sleeping at her workplace because commuting was hard for her. Rebecca worked as well, and helped whenever she could but the fact that they were almost dying of poverty created some friction between them. There was always so much to do and so little money to do it.

Jake’s entrance in their lives had created a difference in the first week. The first week of knowing the woman, Jake had taken her grocery shopping. He had cleared their outstanding bills and taken her mother out on dinner. This was one of the main reasons why Rebecca did not meddle. Her mother was happy for the first time in a long time. She had played hard to get for the man but Jake was not the kind to be turned away so he pushed on. He then got her a job in a respectable company so that she started making decent money in decent time.

Suddenly life was good for them. Happiness seemed to come back into the house. Rebecca’s mother started getting happier. She started smiling, something Rebecca realized she had missed for a long while. If her mother was happy, then she was happy. So when Jake approached her and asked her whether he could marry her mother, Rebecca had said yes. There was no point in saying no.

The wedding had been private, not too much people around them. They had started living together and Jake had taken over the family. The good thing about him was that he was ready to invest in their futures. Both women went to school. Rebecca did not have a problem because she only needed to continue with her education. Her mother enrolled into a college and studied for four years to get her degree.

The family had made progressive steps toward a better future. This was all thanks to Jake who had never gotten tired of looking out for them. In addition to allowing them to pursue their education, Jake had gone a step further and allowed his wife to start her own company by fully funding it. The company was coming up all right such that if they ever went apart, the woman would have her feet firmly supporting her. Rebecca had been given a position at Jake’s company the moment she graduated, in an addition to a house and a car. The life she was living at the moment was all thanks to her stepfather, a man who showed beyond all reasonable doubt that he loved the family with everything he had.

Why he would make Kyle go was beyond Rebecca. She and the man, her stepfather had fought with, was the man who was going to marry her. The truth was that he never approved of her. Not that it was his place to approve of anyone she was with. He never approved of anyone anyway, Rebecca had told him to stay out of her private life, and she was going to marry Kyle whether he liked it or not. It was pretty obvious to see that the man created a lot of tension in the family because even her mother was starting to get involved.

The fact that Kyle worked at the same company only made it worse because it allowed Jake the power to harass him every time he felt like it. Kyle had gone sil
ent for too long it would seem. Now he was gone and there was nothing Rebecca could do. Or was there? She started thinking of the man’s proposal, that they should move, even change jobs. It was not a bad option especially considering that the man she called step father was causing them hell.

Rebecca decided she was going to confront the man, ask him what his problem with Kyle was, and if he failed to give a good reason, the she was going to move out and quit. She had her degree already and some work experience in a reputable company. There was no need to keep working for someone who did not care about her personal happiness. She loved Kyle, or she thought she did. What they had was stable and Jake did not have any right or reason to break them up.

With tears streaming in her eyes, she moved to the front door, picking her keys along the way and headed for her car. She had to sit in her car for a few minutes to calm down before driving to work. She did not live close to the office and had to drive for some time before getting to the office. Along the way, Rebecca had to ask herself why the man was doing what he was doing. She knew that Jake did not do anything without a good reason. It was not like him to hate on something that vehemently and not have a good reason.

Either way, Rebecca stormed into his office, going past a surprised secretary who tried hard to tell her that Mr. Jake was not in the office.

“Where the fuck is he?” Rebecca asked. She was too angry to care how she addressed her stepfather.

“Uhmmm, ma’am, he is at the penthouse. Is there a problem?” the secretary asked. It was self-preservation, trying to see if the problem involved her in order to handle it before Jake did.

“Nothing much. I need to talk to him at the moment,” Rebecca said walking back out.

“Ma’am, can I call him and tell him that you will be coming?” the woman asked.

“You do that and I promise you that no one else will ever hire you in this city,” Rebecca said as she waited for the elevator to open its doors.

The woman nodded and keenly went back to her desk. She did not want to lose her job. Jake was a bastard who paid top dollar for the services he got. She liked the working environment as well. While bosses were used to sending their secretaries everywhere, Jake was the kind of guy who did most things for himself. He always maintained that he did not need a secretary to look after himself. The woman thus did very little work and got paid very well for her effort. Losing the job would be disastrous. She knew that Rebecca had the power to get her fired in an instance. Not that Rebecca had ever done that before. If anything, Rebecca was considered a cool person by most of her workmates. They all loved her and the way she worked. She never quarreled with anyone and was always ready to help.

Rebecca left for her car and drove straight to the pent house. Unlike her house, the penthouse was coser.it was where the man hosted most of his clients when he wanted to impress them, or get them out of the office. At this time of the day, the man would be alone. He never went there a lot because he had a house and a wife to go to. At times he would go there and call his wife, then they would spend a night in the pent house. It happened rarely though. It was open to anyone in the family, even Rebecca, but she seldom went there. It was mostly because Kyle had been forbidden from going there.

She got to the house in a huff and stormed to his door. The place had carpeted floors so no one could hear her walking, until she banged on the heavy door. There was silence, right after the resounding bands and Rebecca wondered why the hell she had banged on the door so hard. When the door opened, Jake stood there, in his shirt and pants. It was clear that he had been sleeping.

“Rebecca?” the man asked, quite puzzled that his step daughter would come to the use.

“We need to talk,” Rebecca said and pushed past him. She walked to the living room and stood there as the man closed the door and followed her inside. He could tell that she was upset but since he had just woken up, it was taking him time to pinpoint where the problem was without asking.

“I thought you had a key to this place.”

  “I left it at home.”

“I also thought you would be home today, “Jake said. He walked to the window and peered outside. Below him, life seemed to go one as usual.

“Kyle moved out and broke up with me,” Rebecca said all of a sudden.

The man turned to her and stared at her for a few seconds. It was clear that he was not surprised with the news. It was as if he had been expecting the news. When he did not say something for long, Rebecca started talking again.

“I still find it odd why he would cite you as the reason for our breakup. Knowing that you never liked him, and knowing very well that I told you to back off, I don’t know what is stopping me from following him and getting the hell out of your life,” Rebecca said. She was angry.

“Common sense, and your gut maybe,” Jake said. He had not moved an inch. The only thing he had done was push his hands into his pocket, which he did when he was about to give a lengthy speech or about to give some advice.

“Common sense? My common senses are telling me to get as far away from you as possible. My gut feeling is telling me that you never want me to be happy,” the woman said.

Jake laughed, “I doubt that. Look Rebecca, you are smart. And you can do without him. Let him go and look for someone more suitable,” he said.

Rebecca found it so insulting that a tear dropped off her eye. She fumed as a sudden urge to scream tore through her. Yet she could not scream. She could tell that Jake was hiding something. What could that be?

“I do not want to be honest with you because I do not want to hurt you, Rebecca,” The man added, “Kyle was never the guy for you. I knew that the moment I laid eyes on him for the first time. Mind you, that was long before you even joined the company. Did I do anything to push him away? No. I never even talked to him about you. At least not the past three weeks. So for him to leave because of me, while I have not talked to him about you should get you thinking,” Jake said.

“But he said you pushed him away,”

“He pushed himself away from the company. We talked in the morning and he knows why he left the company and you in the first place,” Jake said.

  “Why?”

“I think you need to ask him why, yourself. Hear it from his own mouth.”

“He was cheating, wasn’t he?” Rebecca asked. This had been a concern she had never voiced. She had suspected it for some time but did not have the courage to ask whether he was cheating on her or not. The man was simply confirming her suspicions.

“You deserve someone who is not a coward in your life. He could never handle you, at least not you alone. You need to wait for the right man, not every guy that walks into my company,” Jake said with a slight smile.

For some reason, Rebecca did not hurt. She realized that when she suspected Kyle to be cheating for the first time, she had hurt so much that it did not hurt any more. Yet the truth was somehow disconcerting because she had hoped that it was not true. Now here she was, quite sure that Kyle was completely out of her life at the moment and that he would never be allowed back. She sat on the couch and covered her eyes with her hands.

“I was not expecting this,” yet deep down, Rebecca knew that her father must have had a reason to throw the guy out of his company. Something snapped in her and she turned to her stepfather who seemed to recognize something in her eyes. He pulled his hands out of his pocket and stood there, as if expecting, her to come to him. This she did by getting to her feet. Her head seemed to swoon as she took the first step toward her stepfather. She could not explain what was happening to her but it seemed so right to a point that it aroused her.

Jake took her in his arms almost as if it was the most natural thing in the world. She wanted one thing and she knew she would get it.

“This could be the worst idea,” Jake started to say but silence him with a kiss. It had not been his idea when he opened that door. Yet here he was, his body was already responding to her touch. Her lips were supple and delicious.
He suddenly found himself wondering why he had taken so long.

“You are not afraid that people might find out?” he asked, breathing heavily. After all, it was a small world out here and there was a chance that Rebecca would grow cold feet.

“No one will find out if we are careful. Again, I don’t really care,” she said it so casually that. Rebecca was not thinking clearly, and she did not want him to change her mind.

“And you swear you are not going to tell anyone?” Jake had to be sure. But she was making Rebecca angry and impatient.

“Come on Jake, no one is going to find out, now shut the fuck up and actually fuck me,” Rebecca said and when he tried to speak again, she put a finger on his lips. He made up his mind and scooped her up into his arms.

Jake placed dropped with her to the couch, gently, before his lips found hers again and he started to kiss her with a lot of eagerness. He did not need to undress her, Rebecca was more than ready to peel off her clothes. The woman had done a good job.

He now had her completely naked and in all her glory before he started to kiss her body, starting from her mouth and heading further south. Jake suddenly found out that he would love this supple body. There was a quality in it that drove him crazy. There was something about it that made him want to be with her for a long time. Or maybe it was his hormones speaking, he was not sure.

But he was sure of his lovemaking. At that, he was an expert. But with the urgency of her kisses, he needed to fuck her hard, she needed her pussy undone and he was going to do a pretty job. He joined her on the couch and took her right nipple in his mouth. She responded with a moan. Rebecca liked a man who could handle her well, a man who could take good care of her needs. This she found out now, the man was taking her like a pro And Jake was the man.

Rebecca’s hands went to his head and gripped hard, she was too aroused for him. He bit on her nipple and she yelped. She liked what he was doing to her. Jake started to slide his hands all over her body, touching her wet pussy several times before he started to head further south. There were things that he was never taught, they came by instinct or maybe they came with experience. Like eating a woman out, he did not need to be shown how it was done. And now her pussy was weeping for that cock.
