Jamie smiled, and watched one play at the edges of Henry's mouth. “Impossible and complicated sounds like a great start to a wonderful relationship,” she said and he laughed. He took her into his arms and she snuggled into his chest with a grin. “I hope Michael is okay.”

Henry tightened his arms around her. “He was shot in the shoulder, I’m sure he'll be fine. His mother is a doctor and she will patch him up.”

Jamie moved her head to the side and looked at the abandoned park. She couldn’t believe what her father had done. What his men had done. She’d heard the stories about him when she was at school, but she’d thought they were made up to make him look evil. Jamie closed her eyes as tears slid down her cheeks.

Henry held Jamie in his arms. His mind kept alternating between what had happened in the club, and of all the blood, to the beautiful red-head in his arms. William Moore and his men had come in with their guns and shot people. It was hard to wrap his brain around. They’d been there looking for Jamie, and determined to get answers anyway they could. It was then that William had noticed him. He’d been standing with Mike and William had stomped over, gun in hand as he demanded to know where his daughter was, but Henry hadn’t answered. He’d watched William shoot Mike in the shoulder and blood automatically soak his shirt. Henry had yelled to Matthew to take his brother to their mother.

He’d thought that opening a club like the No B would be dangerous, and that people would get hurt if they were ever caught fraternizing. But no one had ever gotten hurt during a raid before. They would usually be arrested and taken into custody, but the Black Enforcers had never used guns before. They’d never shot people for just being there.

“Jamie, I want you to come home with me tonight,” he said looking down at her with concern.

She slowly she lifted her head off of his chest and shook her head. “No, my father would burn down the city looking for me and I donis me and ’t want any more bloodshed because of me.”

Henry touched her cheek. She was so beautiful it made his chest hurt and he needed to make sure she would be safe. “I don’t think it will be safe for you at your home, the rebels are not going to be happy about what happened tonight, and I don’t want you in the cross fire.” He knew his people would be irate about what had happened.

Jamie's smile widened. “Well, Mr. Roarke, I would say you care about me.”

Care wouldn’t be the word he’d have used. He could feel his heart opening up for Jamie. “I care more than I probably should.” He watched her look down and bite her bottom lip. When she did that it made him go crazy. He wanted to be the one biting her lip, and after their kiss he wanted more. Henry smiled at her. “Sweetheart…look at me.”

Slowly Jamie’s dark green eyes came up to meet his. He knew he had found the one he wanted to spend the rest of his days waking up to. He brought his lips down to her, and gently brushed his lips against hers. She moaned and he grinned. He crashed his lips down on hers, and pulled her closer to him. He loved how her body seemed to fit perfectly against his, it was like she was made for him and him alone.

He could taste her raspberry Chapstick on his own lips as he deepened the kiss. He knew at that moment he would do anything for the girl in his arms. She made the sweetest noises as he kissed her. Henry moved his hand away from her face and into her hair; he tangled his fingers in her short, silky, red hair and she slipped her hands into his back pockets.

He took his lips away from hers, and leaned his forehead against hers. Jamie’s breathing matched his, fast and rough. Her eyes were still closed, but he realized she was shaking with her sobs. Henry moved a hand under her chin to force her face up to his. “Jamie, what’s wrong?” He wondered if she wasn’t feeling what he felt for her.

“W-what will we do if we get caught? My father will blame us on you and you alone,” she said with her eyes shut, and he grinned at her.

He hoped that if they did get caught he would be the only one that was brought to the tower. He didn’t want to think about her being tortured because of him. Henry was pretty sure her father would save her from that. “Jamie, we don’t need to think about that right now. I just want to be with you, and I know that after tonight it will be harder for that to happen, but I am willing to try.”

She opened her eyes, and he brushed away a few tears. “I will fight for you, Henry Roarke.”

He could see the determination in her eyes. “I’m the one who will walk to the end of the earth for you,” he laughed and she raised her eyebrows at him. “Did you ever think you would like a Blue?”

She smacked his chest. “You act like I’ve never seen a Blue before. I was raised by my housekeeper, and she is a Blue. You met her today.” Jamie reach

He smiled as he smelled raspberry. Henry put his hands up in surrender, but his smile gave him away. “I like you like this. You aren’t a push over.” He’d figured she wouldn’t be, not with who her father was. He would have taught Jamie how to be strong, and independent.

“Whatever,” she mumbled, and his smile widened.

Henry moved away from her and went to the bag on his bike. Since she wanted to go home, he wanted to be able to contact her without her father knowing. He unzipped the bag on his motorcycle and pulled out his back up cell-phone, the one he kept in case of emergency. No one knew the number, and it had a safe line so no one could tap into it.

He turned around to find Jamie had followed him over to the bike. “This is for you. I want to have a way to contact you.” He handed her the phone. “Your father won’t be able to tap into it.” She pushed a button and the screen lit up her beautiful face. “I’m the only person that knows the number.”

Jamie nodded and put the phone in her bra, a stupid grin filled his face. She looked at him and rolled her eyes. “My dad would want to know why I have an extra phone, and he won’t check here.” She patted her chest, and he laughed. She was the one that reached out to take his hand. Her fingers traced the tan line from his bracelet. Jamie smiled and looked up at Henry, and he couldn’t help but to smile back. “You know, there is no turning back, you are stuck with me.”

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him. “I believe you are the one stuck with me, sweetheart.”

She giggled and snuggled her face closer to his chest.

He knew that their time together was coming to an end, and soon. Henry sighed. “I should get you home before you have the Black army looking for you.”

Jamie shook her head against his chest. “If my dad hears your motorcycle he’ll know I was with you. Then you will have the Black army after you.” She looked up at him with her all too knowing eyes.

“You’re right, let me text a friend.” Henry didn’t want to have Jamie out of his sight, but he knew he couldn’t get close to the Moore house without her father knowing.

He moved away from her to text Mike, the Rich family was a highly respected Black family.

How are you doing? He texted and pressed the send button. Within seconds he had a reply.

  I’m grrreeeaaatt, mom drugged me.

Great, he was too high to come and get Jamie. He could ask one of Mike’s brothers. Henry didn’t want to chance her with Mike’s crazy, horny brothers, but at least Mike would be fun to be around tonight.

“I just texted Em, she’ll be here in about ten minutes,” Jamie said from behind him, and he turned around. “She’s going to say she picked me up by Black Diamonds.”

“I don’t like that you have to lie,” Henry said and she shrugged. He could tell she was a good girl and she was too good to be lying to her father about where she was.

“I don’t like it either, but we don’t have a choice. My father will kill you if he knew the truth.” Jamie looked away from him, but he saw the fear in her eyes. He took the few steps that were between them and hugged her to him. He knew what they would do to him, but imagined it one-hundred times worst because it was William Moore's daughter he was falling for.

  In sc
hool they taught you what would happened if you broke the Black's laws. The one that always ended with death for the one that wore the blue bracelet was falling in love with a Black. You were supposed to stick to your own class, never moving up or down. Henry now had a personal reason to want things to change.

“Will I see you again?” Worry dripped from her voice.

He kissed the top of her head. “Sweetheart, nothing but my death will keep me from you.”

Jamie laughed and shook her head. “You're crazy,” she said, and he grinned.

He was crazy for her and no one else. A car's headlights shined on them as it parked about a hundred feet from them.

“That would be my cue to leave,” she said, but didn’t move away from him.

He thought back to when she’d come into his private room earlier that night. She’d looked like she wanted to rip him apart. Now she looked at him as if he were her world. “Meet me back here tomorrow night.” He had something he wanted to work on, and needed to see her again.

Jamie bit her bottom lip. He had already figured out that it meant she was thinking about something bad. “My dad will have me on a tight leash after tonight and most likely won't let me out of his sight for a while.”

Henry glanced at the car where Emily sat waiting for Jamie. “Maybe if it’s you and Emily he’ll let you come, do you think? I’ll get Mike here too. He hasn’t shut up about her since he met her.”

She smiled up at him, and he loved how her eyes seemed to sparkle in the moon light. “Okay I’ll try, but I can't promise anything.”

Henry nodded and gently brushed his lips against hers. He watched her sparkling dark green eyes flutter closed. He laid his forehead against hers, and she opened her eyes.

“You make it really hard to leave.”

He grinned and winked at her. “I’ll see you tomorrow night.”

She laughed, and he reached down to take her hand in his. They walked to Emily's car without saying anything else. When they got to the car, he opened the car door and she turned to face him. “Thank you for tonight,” she whispered, and grinned at him.

He shook his head, she deserved so much better than this. She stole his breath away when she smiled at him, and she was more than just beautiful, she was smart and caring. “One day I will treat you to a real date, Ms. Moore.” Jamie's eyes grew glossy. They both knew they could never have a real date. Not as long as the law was still in place. Henry pulled her to him, and held her close. “Text me when you get home,” he whispered against her ear and gently kissed her neck. She shivered in his arms.

“Okay,” Jamie said with a nod and slowly moved away from him. She glanced one last time at him over her shoulder, and then got into the car.

He shut the door, and laid his opened hand against the window. Henry moved away from the car and watched it drive away, and then he walked to his bike. He picked up the helmet to put on, and smiled because it smelled like raspberries.

  * * *

Jamie turned to get one last look at Henry; he was walking to his bike. When she’d planned on see him again, she’d never imagined it would end like this. She’d been so mad when she thought he was using her, and when she slapped him she thought he would be angry with her, but he wasn’t. Tonight had been amazing and her lips still tingled from Henry's kisses. Her mind took her back to the club and the sound of gun shots rang through her ears again.

“Are you going to tell me about what the hell happened tonight and why I need to be your alibi?” Emily asked and quickly glanced at her.

Jamie had never kept anything from her, but if she told her, then Emily could be tortured for the information. She took a deep breath and turned to look at her best friend. “I will tell you what you need to know, and nothing more. I don’t want my dad to hurt you. Tonight I went to No B without you. I needed to see Henry and talk to him alone. I wasn’t there for long before all hell broke loose. My father came in looking for me and his men shot people. Henry got me out of there.”

Emily stopped the car at a red stoplight, and turned her hazel eyes to look at Jamie. “I know there is more to this story,” she said, closing her eyes. “He’s a Blue isn't he?” Emily reopened her eyes and stared at Jamie.

Jamie shook her head. “I can't tell you that, my father will question you and he wouldn't hesitate to hurt you to find out what you know. Less is better.”

Emily mumbled something that sounded like a curse and hit the steering wheel.

“Henry wants us to meet with him and Mike tomorrow. He said Mike hasn’t been able to stop talking about you.”

Emily didn’t respond, she just kept driving, her eyes staying on the road.

Ten minutes later they pulled into Jamie's driveway. They didn’t talk at all. Jamie slowly got out of the car, worried about what Emily was thinking, but she said nothing further on the subject. “I’ll call you tomorrow,” she said as she started to close the door.

“I’ll go,” Emily told her, and Jamie looked back in the car at her. “I’ll go with you to meet the guys, just tell me what time.”

“I’ll call you,” Jamie replied, shutting the door and running up the walk to the house. Before she could even turn the doorknob on the front door, it opened.

Her father’s dark-green eyes were on Emily's fleeing car. “Where the hell have you been?” He turned his heated gazed to Jamie.

She took a deep steadying breath to calm her nerves. “You know how I feel about having bodyguards, and I wanted to be alone. I knew that wouldn’t happen, so I called Emily to pick me up behind Black Diamond, why?” she said defiantly, wondering if the men that were assigned to her were in trouble. She didn’t want them to lose their jobs. Slowly her father moved out of the way to allow her in the house. She headed up the stairs without a backward glance. She wanted to text Henry.

“Jamie we need to talk about what happened tonight. You can't just ditch your bodyguards, not now. There is something going on and some people would love to use you against me.”

She knew they would have to talk about all of this, but not right now. She sighed, and turned on the stairs. “Dad I’m so tired. All I want to do right now is sleep. Can we please talk in the morning?”

He pinched the bridge of his nose and nodded his head. “Fine,” was all he said as he turned and walked down the hall.

Jamie shook her head and walked up the stairs to her bedroom, gently she shut the door behind her. The first thing she did was pull the phone out of her bra. She scrolled to the contacts list and there was only one number listed, but no name attached to it.

I'm home, Jamie wrote and pressed send.

Within a few seconds the phone buzzed in her hand. Good, but I miss you already.

Her heart soared as she read his words. She peeked at the time and grinned, it had only been twenty minutes since she’d seen him. She ambled to her bed and sat down. Her heart was beating so hard she thought it might break free. I miss you too, Jamie wrote back and brought her finger tips to her lips. They were still tingling from his kisses. She wondered if he was feeling what she was, if he could still feel her lips on his.

Did evi>erything go okay with your dad?

She felt a smile grow on her face, he was worried about her. No one besides Emily had cared about her like that. Yes, we are talking in the morning. How's Mike doing? Jamie asked hoping Henry would have an update. She had been worried about him since he’d told her he’d been shot.

He will be fine. His mother is a doctor and is taking care of him. But it's getting late. Get some sleep. I will be counting the seconds until I see you again. Good night, sweetheart.

She didn’t think her heart could beat any faster, but she was mistaken. She loved that he called her sweetheart, no one had ever called her a pet name before and she loved it.

Good night, Henry. Jamie desired to say more, but she wasn’t romantic with her words like he was. She had never been good with words. She’d had boyfriends, but none of them made her feel like this. She wanted to be w
ith Henry, even knowing that it was against the law, and her father would freak out. Slowly Jamie got up, glanced at the phone one last time, and then put it in her underwear drawer. She wasn’t taking any chances with her father finding it.

Jamie changed into a white tank top and black spandex shorts and then crawled in her warm bed with her mind on Henry and his kisses.

  Chapter Five

  Fiery Red Head

Jamie was torn out of an incredible dream with Henry, by a loud hard knocking on her bedroom door. She squinted at the clock on her wall and moaned it was only a little after nine in the morning.

“In my office, in five minutes,” her father ordered through the door. She knew it was pointless to argue with him when he sounded like that.

Slowly Jamie got out of bed. She checked her cell phone and saw one new message from Emily.

I'm up for tonight, but I want to know everything.

She sighed, and shook her head. She didn’t think Emily should know, but she didn’t see any way around telling her. Jamie strolled to her bedroom door, but stopped when she remembered the other phone. She pulled open her underwear drawer and grabbed the phone. Her heart raced when she saw one new text message was waiting for her.

Good morning, sweetheart. I don’t want you to be surprise when you see me. Your father called me into work today. He said we had to talk about his seeing me at the club last night. I’ll tell him what he needs to know. I want to be able to see you, even if it is just a little bit during the day. I’ll be seeing your beautiful face soon.

Jamie lip. Her father had seen Henry. She questioned what he was planning. She left her bedroom, heading toward her father's office. Jamie was still wearing a skin tight white tank top, and her black spandex shorts. She was pretty sure her hair looked like it was on fire and sticking up all over her head.
