Stealing Third Page 18

by Marta Brown

“You know what, sweetie?” I snuggle my head against hers before wrapping my arm around my wife’s shoulder and walking us out of the stadium and to our car. “One time your mommy didn’t want to go to camp either, but she was glad she did because not only did she make lots of new friends, she also made memories that will last her forever.”

“Really?” Ellie looks up at me through her lashes, smiling. “Forevers?” she says with a small lisp.

  “Forevers.”

  The End

  Thanks

First and foremost, I must thank all of my amazing readers. You’ll never know what it means to me that you have taken the time to leave a review, send a tweet, or email me a note to say something I wrote made you smile. You have made me smile too!

I must also give a big, huge thank you to my editor, Taryn Albright, who does magic with her green pen; my CP Kathie, who is my constant cheerleader; and to my beta Tauna, who tells it like it is, and shares my love of all things EC.

And finally, to my friends and family (especially my mom and my husband), I cannot thank you enough for all of your love and support. It is because of you that I am me. I love you.

  About the Author

Marta Brown grew up in the Pacific Northwest and was a teenager when Doc Martens, Pearl Jam and flannel were the norm, and Dylan loved Kelly forever (Beverly Hills, 90210 shout out!). She still lives just outside Seattle, now with her husband and cat, and loves the rain. When she’s not writing about cute boys, first kisses and the magic and wonder of being seventeen, she’s watching The CW. And she sleeps in. Late.

On the picturesque island of Martha's Vineyard, there are two kinds of residents. Locals and Stays.

Local boy, Lane McCarthy, plans on spending his summer working at the country club to save money for college in the fall, while summer stay, Ashley Whitmore, and her elite group of friends are only there to play.

As the summer heat goes up on the island, so does the ante, when both Lane and Ashley must decide what they’re willing to wager in order to follow their dreams…and their hearts.

With stakes as high as the surf, and hopes as high as the midday sun, will they risk everything and go all in?
