Destiny: AN MFM Romance Page 15

by Brent, Taylor

Jill glanced at the paper and sighed in relief before rushing back up the stairs, clutching her purse to her chest.

Rose beamed after her and picked up the phone behind the bar. She dialed a now-familiar number, smiling when a masculine voice answered on the third ring.

“Niyol?” Rose said. “Get ready to help me plan a wedding.”

The wedding happened only two months later before the bride developed much of a baby bump. The whole town came out to witness the new couple’s joy and happiness.

Jill’s adoptive parents met her birth father and Rose, and the four got along surprisingly well. Both Niyol and Jill’s adoptive father, Jim, walked her down the aisle.

Perhaps the most shocking part of the whole wedding was when Roger agreed to be Luke’s best man, but the two seemed to have moved past any jealousy or resentment. As Roger said, Luke was still his best friend, and nothing could change that. The gesture warmed both Jill’s and Luke’s hearts.

The one small hiccup was when the couple let slip to Roger that Jill was pregnant and how far along she was. Jill had had to reassure Roger that he was not, in fact, the father of her unborn child, which, thanks to Rose’s constant interference, she could do with a clear conscious.

Luke and Jill departed for their honeymoon—a cruise that Jill’s parents had paid for—and the rest of the guests settled in to finish the party. Rose sipped a glass of whiskey and watched the townsfolk as they interacted with each other. Her eyes snagged on Roger, drinking deeply from his glass at a table by himself.

Rose frowned. She really did have a lot to make up to him. Sighing, she looked around the dance floor.

No time like the present, she thought with a mischievous smile.
