“You know what happened to the cat,” Brea mumbled good-naturedly. She met the eyes of the young bartender with a smile. “A sweet white wine, please.”

“Okay, princess…” Jase lifted her to the stool and leaned on one side, Nick moving to the other side with a cold brown bottle of ale. Brea leaned back until she felt the bar behind her, the goblet of chilled wine between her fingers.

“To show you how generous we are, you get to ask the first question,” Nick tipped the bottle up and laughed at the wrinkled nose she offered.

  “Maybe I’m not curious.”

“First rule, no lying. Not to us and never to yourself,” Jase leaned in and kissed her before she could move. “Penalty.”

“A kiss is a punishment?” She gaped at him.

  “For this particular game.”

“Wait a minute now…..and who judges if I’m lying?” She shot a look from one to the other.

“We’ll know,” Nick answered with a crooked grin. “Are you saying you’re not the 139

  least bit curious about us?”

Brea chose to remain silent, her lips pursed and eyes staring straight ahead.

“Not answering is as good as a lie,” Jase whispered against her ear.

“Only it’s my turn,” Nick told her, leaning in and slanting his mouth over hers, his tongue sliding seductively over her lower lip before nipping it and deepening the kiss. “I could seriously get used to these punishments.” Brea wasn’t sure why her cheeks flushed pink. But she did notice the interest from several males standing alone at the bar entrance to the lounge.

“What’s your favorite sex position?” Brea knew it was her voice. A little louder than she would have liked since several patrons of the bar tried not to look at her or the males she was with. And the males she was with, well, both of them hastily choked down the mouthful of ale they’d just taken.

  Then they stared at her.

Jase glanced over at Nick. “You want first answer? Or me?”

  “Afraid I’ll steal your answer?”

“Hmm….we could well like the same thing, this is true,” Jase chuckled, leaning over and to whisper in her ear. “You do know…..any question asked, you must also provide an answer for.”

“You’re making up these rules as we go,” she sputtered, lips bowed in a taut pucker. “Fine. My answer is I like being on top.” Her declaration was firm, ignoring the few people eavesdropping and the flames that tinted her cheeks in the dimly lit bar.

All eyes went to the sound coming from Jase’s pocket, his fingers pulling the disc 140

free and handing it to Nick. He then lifted Brea to the floor and started toward the restaurant, knowing Nick would have his palm resting possessively on her hip as they walked.

“I’ll give you a guess where my fascination lies,” Nick said sensually, his palm gliding down over her behind and squeezing. He was pretty sure she would have yelped along with the jump her slender body gave if they hadn’t come to the table and the cute waitress waiting to seat them.

He watched Brea toss back the rest of her wine and set the glass on the table before taking a seat near the window. Nick and Jase positioned themselves on either side, reclining in the comfortable chairs and accepting the menus with a thankful smile.

They listened to the specials and read absently when the waitress left to get their water.

“You didn’t answer,” Brea said after clearing her throat a few times to make her voice work. It was a little better in the dining room. People weren’t so close together but she would work to keep her voice down.

“So you are curious after all,” Jase closed the menu and like Nick, just enjoyed staring at her. He should have asked Mariana to describe what Brea thought she looked like, what she saw when she looked in the mirror. Because he could easily tell her she had clearly drawn the focus of most of the males in the place.

Something around her seemed to glow. Not a bright garish glow. No, this was a soft glimmer that radiated even brighter when she smiled.

“Is that your question?” She asked sweetly, giving him one of those dazzling 141

smiles now. Jase laughed and leaned a little closer.

“I’m pretty versatile as far as positions go. As long as you’re happy, that’s all I need.”

“Smarmy,” Nick said with a grin. “Maybe the better question is what do you like.” Brea swallowed. She was in way over her head. “Like?”

“No…not a good question,” Jase interrupted. “Besides, it’s not your turn.” But the stopped when the waitress approached, each of them placing their order and waiting.

“So what’s your question?” Nick kept watching Brea. They could smell her arousal, sense the excitement inside her from their conversation.

“How many lovers have you had, Brea?”

“Sex…lovers?” Heat attacked her cheeks when they both laughed softly. Nick lifted her palm from the table and kissed the soft center.

“You can stop the questions, Brea. We don’t want to embarrass you, honestly.”

“Two,” she whispered, grabbing in short gasps when Nick’s tongue ran along her wrist before letting her tug her hand free. “Is it important?”

“Not at all,” Jase answered instantly, his palm covering the one closest to him.

“I’ve had four,” he confided with a nod.

“I confess to five,” Nick shrugged. “I had a wicked cheerleader chasing me in high school.”

“Ahh…I remember…..I’m so glad you grew out of bimbos,” Jase chuckled. “I kept telling you she was wrong for you. She was using you to get to that idiot football 142

  player.”

“I was young and naïve,” Nick shrugged. “Hormonal overflow.” Brea worked to stop the laughter, but the corner of her mouth twitched even as she stared down at the table.

“We’re getting to you, princess. Admit it,” Jase met the smile in her eyes.

“Tell us about your parents, Brea,” Nick leaned back, the large platters laid out on the table before them. The hints of pink faded from her cheeks, tawny lashes blinking quickly.

  “My parents….”

“They made the most perfect daughter,” Jase said softly. “They were important to you.”

Brea began eating slowly, one shoulder up and down as she thought and chewed. “Very good fish….” She picked up a fresh wedge of lemon and squeezed it over the thick, battered plank. “They were fun. And happy….always kissing and touching and laughing.” She stared out the window for a quiet minute. “There was a warmth around them,” one shoulder rose and fell. “Maybe it was just me, but it was like the love they had spilled out, there was so much of it,” she swallowed hard and reached for the tall glass of cold water.

“No other relatives?” Nick asked casually, the spoon he held scooping out some of the thick seafood soup before tearing off a large piece of the grilled bread to dip in the red broth.

“No. I asked when I was little. Not even photos. Mom told me there was a big 143

fire where we used to live and all the pictures were lost,” Brea dragged a thick potato through the ketchup. “Long before digital.”

“You didn’t always live in Newburg?” Jase picked up the thread.

“I did. So they tell me,” she grinned at them both. “But my parents lived in North Carolina. But I don’t know where. They didn’t like talking about it. It made them sad.

Several close friends died in the fire.”

“Your grandparents? Both your parents were only kids?” Nick asked with a small frown.

“It upset them to talk about it, so I stopped asking. Are your parents local?” She asked, looking from one to the other.

“Just north of Aftport,” Nick answered, launching into a family history that wove through Jase’s family and the majority of their lives. They liked hearing her laugh, hearing her questions and even the bits of teasing she offered when they relayed events through their lives.

“Let’s dance!” She pleaded as t
hey headed for the exit over two hours later. She looked from one to the other and saw the slightest hesitance. Her gaze taking in the people in the lounge and realizing they were probably a little above the average participants in age, but she didn’t care.

  144

  Chapter 15

Another part of her wondered how far she could push them in indulging her.

Jase saw that teasing smile and groaned.

Brea gripped each of their hands with hers, leading them through the bar to the lounge that was playing a mix of dance music that echoed through the building. A few people were on the floor, arms up and hips swaying. Several girls danced while guys at various tables looked on enviously but not brave enough yet to make their move, she thought.

Jase was positive his eyes were going to be permanently crossed before the night was over. She wouldn’t allow one of them to leave the dance floor, instead making certain she danced between them both, hips bumping and arms up as she swayed and rubbed against one or the other of them, all in erotic, smooth movements to the music paying.

He also knew they were attracting a little attention. She wasn’t shy in her movements or gestures and evidently knew the pounding lyrics and beats to the songs being played. Their little Brea was constantly surprising them, the lyrics and language used something he’d peg as being caught in the twenty-something age bracket. Not their quiet little coffee blender.

The next song, a reggae mix had her swaying sexily against Nick, his hands settled on her waist as she ground her hips against him, turning her back to him and sinking to the floor and back before switching to Jase.

  145

Brea laughed happily. For the first time in the past few weeks, she laughed and it was a good feeling. They liked to play. She loved to dance and teasing them both was making her incredibly aroused and they played along without trying to cage her.

Jase took her hand, swinging her lightly to the mixed country reggae music. All three of them were laughing and dancing when a man came from the side and tried to grip Brea’s fingers, pulling her against him for a dance.

“You don’t mind sharing and she seems to enjoy it,” the man said when Nick took a step toward him. “Com’on, sweetheart….let’s dance.”

“No.” Brea shoved her hands against his chest, her head shaking and feet stumbling back a little. Where did the sudden fear come from? Why did someone have to intrude on their fun? She felt Jase behind her and took his hand, wrapping it around her middle. “No. But thank you.”

“The lady isn’t interested,” Nick stood at their side, her other hand in his and her chin up.

“The hell she isn’t,” he looked her up and down with a leer he didn’t try and contain. “If she’ll take on two, what’s one more?” Brea felt her eyes widen. She’d never seen anyone move that fast before and stared at Nick’s hand wrapped around the man’s shirt, lifting him effortlessly off the floor.

“The lady….is not interested. Go while you can still walk,” Nick suggested coldly, giving the younger man a shove toward the door.

“Brea….maybe we should go,” Jase had watched the color leave her face. But 146

  only for a moment.

Her chin tipped up, their eyes meeting and she smiled at him, her head shaking.

“Be right back,” she promised, kissing him softly and then kissing Nick. Mine, she heard whispered fervently inside her mind, inside her heart.

Brea walked up to the girl playing the music and made a request, the strains of the Latina female filling the club.

  She moved back to them.

Not walked, Nick realized. There was a new sultry look in her eyes and for the first time in his life he knew what prey felt like. He didn’t have to look to know Jase was feeling it too because her eyes were always on one or the other of them, no one else in the club mattered.

Her body swayed, hips gyrating and stomach flexing to the blended salsa music.

By the end of the second salsa song, she had them both ready to grab her up and carry her out of the lounge over their shoulders. She’d rubbed her behind against them both, dropping to the floor and wrapping her arms around their neck as she danced, singing along all the while.

Brea fell into one of the chairs at the empty table when the song ended, grateful for the large bottle of water Nick handed her.

“Those are some seriously sexy moves you got, princess.” Nick complimented gruffly.

Brea laughed softly. “Does that mean you approve?” Jase pulled her back against him, her head on his shoulder and his mouth 147

  covering hers.

He’d wanted to be smooth, slow and teasing. But when she turned in the chair and moved to his lap, her hands framed his face and her mouth took over the kiss.

There wasn’t a single tentative or hesitant move.

She kissed him long and deep, thrusting her tongue into his mouth and urging his to play. She tasted the pure male hunger and groaned against his lips, nipping the full lower lip and then backing up, amber eyes flashing gold and filled with passion.

He let her slip from his hands with a low growl, until he saw her slide onto Nick’s lap.

Nick opened his mouth just in time for it to be covered by hers, slim fingers spearing the dark hair at the sides of his head as she straddled him, pressing herself against his chest. She felt his cock harden beneath her and ground sexily down.

She was responsible for that, she shouted to herself.

  He – no – they….wanted her!

She heard her name whispered against her mouth when Nick pulled his head back, his kiss hot and roving along her jaw.

“You said I had power,” she asked softly, knowing that Jase could hear them talking.

“It radiates off those little fingers,” Nick told her gruffly.

“Then this is what I want,” she leaned closer, her lips touching his ear as she whispered. She took a little, sharp nip before raising her head, meeting the dark, glazed eyes that overflowed with hunger.

  148

  For her, she thought breathlessly.

  “Are you sure?”

“We should go home,” she whispered back, letting one jean covered leg slide back from his lap and standing up.

Jase heard the words. Those sweetly sexy words she said without hesitation. For a long few seconds he looked at the palm she held out to him. He knew the whispers around them. He knew they’d be directed at her in the sexist society that ruled. He knew she had listened to them, too, and shoved them aside.

Brea wrapped one palm around each of theirs and stood tall with them on either side of her before stepping forward and heading out of the club to the parking lot. She could feel them behind her, their heat and hunger. It had been flashing through the humor and laughter all night long, through dinner and when they danced.

She stopped at the exit, holding up a finger and disappearing into the restroom.

“What did she say?” Jase met the look on his friends face.

“Give me the keys. I’m driving,” Nick said, almost laughing at the expression on Jase’s face. Both of them had always been in control; always in charge of situations.

Until Brea. The keys jangled in the center of his palm, fingers closed around them.

“Why are you driving?” Jase felt the moisture dry up in his mouth.

“Because she wants you in the backseat with her,” Nick told him, one brow up at the way his friend’s jaw dropped open.

  “She wants….”

“She….wants you in the backseat of the car,” Brea said, coming up behind them 149

and winding her arms around Jase, palms flat and pressing over his chest, stopping just at the belt to his jeans. “I’ve never made out in a car before. And I think I like this idea of having power,” she whispered hotly against his throat, biting down and letting the soft gurgle of laughter free when his body reacted.

“And just how are you planning to use this power?” Jase took her hands, opened them and pulled her between them as they st
epped into the cool spring night.

“Well,” she answered triumphantly after a few seconds, happy with her choice of words. “Yes. I plan on using it well,” she heard the locks being released and slid over the wide, cushioned bench seat. “A nice slow drive through the park, please,” she told Nick with a sultry smile, her palm out and patting the seat beside her.

“You look nervous,” Nick commented, chuckling as he slid behind the wheel and started the car.

“I make you nervous?” Brea asked, sliding her behind toward the outside of the SUV and laying along the seat, her palms pressing over his thighs.

“Right now you’re scaring the shit out of me,” Jase murmured, snarling when his comment made Nick snort with laughter.

“Don’t mind him. I have plans for him, too,” she whispered, her fingernails grazing the inside of his thighs until they touched the bulge beneath his jeans.

Jase watched her drag her tongue around her lips, his groan low when she pressed her face against his crotch. His head bounced up when he felt her hands opening the leather belt he wore.

  “Brea….”

  150

He meant it to come out stronger. Firmer.

He meant to lift her away from him, instead, his hands were buried in her hair when those slim fingers pulled the brass zipper down. Instead, her name came out like a hungry groan and the windows began to steam up.

Brea wasn’t about to confess she really didn’t know what she was doing. She knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to taste them. She wanted her tongue and lips all over them both.

The good girl was arguing, protesting.

Brea shoved her into the closet and closed the door.

She drew in a long, slow breath. Wild. Forest and earth and male. Definitely male, she breathed, her fingers tracing the thick heavy weight of him barely hidden beneath the thin fabric of black boxers. She rolled to her stomach on the seat, elbows holding her up as she cupped her palms and pressed them along his cock.

“Oh, fuck,” Jase hissed when her mouth pressed against the fabric seconds before her fingers pulled them out of her way.
