Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl-Lacuna coil
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
It’s been two months since Reyes asked her to fuse and marry him. They were back at the house where the reapers showed up at for her. After he promised and swore to her it wouldn’t happen again. Guards were all around the house. She had still wanted to find her own place but he said he had something in the works and to just be patient.
Her sisters were engaged to his brothers as well. They were thinking of making it one big hoo-ha ceremony. It would be packed enough anyways. They had publicly announced their decisions to fuse and marry at the Endless Ball. The response was overwhelming excitement and happiness that the two legions would soon be merging half and half. His got queens, theirs got kings.
The reapers had never shown back up and that bothered all of them. She sighed contentedly as Reyes pulled her into his side. They had sex non-stop it seemed, she loved it, she knew he loved it because he told her. That led her to the topic at hand.
“Reyes we need to talk about it.” He kissed the top of her head and finally agreed.
“I want a family little fae.” He said looking at her face.
He never said anything she expected to him to. She wanted one to but were they really ready? “Were going to be fused this year and wed, we will be in a new living situation the legions are going to be stronger than they’ve ever been. There’s no reason to stop. If I could keep you in my bed and fuck you all day I would, I never get you out of my system.” She looked at him and smiled. “Okay.” She sighed.
He rolled her onto her back again, “The thought of you carrying my child is enough to almost tie you to the bed seriously.” He grinned before shoving back inside of her. When they finally stopped he reminded her of the dinner they were having here tonight with Olivia and her friends. She sighed and nodded that she remembered.
How could she forget dinner with her? This was for them to talk out their ‘differences’. Reyes had put Olivia in her place twice before now when she tried to come between them. She had seemed as surprised as she was when he first did it.
She spent the day wondering the halls of the large house before going to figure out what to put on for dinner that night. She chose a simple violet chiffon a line dress that hit a little above her knees she always had the glow to her now, even if she didn’t take from Reyes everyday which was rare anyway, he didn’t want her taking bottled blood when he was here whenever she wanted to feed. Not a problem by her the bottled blood made her disgusted when she had to drink it. She had just slipped her open toed matching heels on when Reyes walked into the room and found her. “You’re so beautiful.” He said kissing her. He deepened the kiss and slid his hands up her dress. “Reyes we can’t.’ She brought her arms around his neck anyways.
He removed her panties in one fluid motion and quickly pushed his way into her. She gasped trying to adjust around him as he began vigorously thrusting into her and sitting her on the bathroom counter. He adjusted so he could go deeper and sped up. She came and he followed with a curse and kissing her deeply. She had her hands on the side of his face and smiled up at him. He ghosted a kiss to her lips before getting a warm rag and wiping them both off.
He slid her panties up her legs and helped her down. “I love you little fae.” He murmured looking down at her. “I love Reyes.” She said smiling at him. He took her hand and led her downstairs to the larger dining room where Olivia and her friends were already seated. Olivia looked flawless as usual. She eyed them holding hands and she could almost see the distaste in her eyes instead of the bullshit fake smile she gave the. Reyes pulled a chair out for her and then sat beside her.
Storm sat Clover right beside her and he sat opposite of her. Hades and Jenna sat at the other end of the table. Two staff from the kitchen set the table quickly and then exited the room. The room was silent no one was saying a word. She was more concentrated on her Cimmerian that had begun urgently whispering to her.
She had, had some ups and downs with it over the last few weeks. It would be begging her to do something reckless, anything. Reyes was always right there to help her and had been teaching her how to stop it. On the worst day she wouldn’t even leave the room and he stayed with her the whole day. She worried once they fused it was going to get stronger and she wouldn’t be able to deal with it.
“We need to clear some things up.” Khaos finally spoke. “That’s the only reason were doing this.” Storm added. “None of you are going anywhere so whatever you want to say to each other say it now.” Khaos said now. No one spoke at first. She heard one word the Cimmerian was saying Her. It was saying something before that but the whispered voices were so hard to understand that’s all she was catching.
Mallory eyed Jenna’s orange ruby diamond ring, jealousy was an ugly thing. “When are your ceremonies?” Araminta asked. Her light to dark silver ombre hair hung down over her shoulders and her matching eyes glanced around at them.
“Sometime this year.” Hades answered her. “This is a giant waste of time.” Aurora said and as she flipped her blonde hair she noticed something. The black outline of a circle with a K inside of it with the tiniest scripture to the side of it.
It was a mark. They looked like tattoo’s on the underside of wrist. Male beings marked their partners if they didn’t want to fuse or still did fuse and wanted a sign of their union. She had always thought it was a territorial sexist thing. They were very close to the vampires across from them at one time they all had marks on their lower wrist. She took a sip of her water and swallowed.
He had never mentioned this to her. “What the hell is that?” Scarlett asked gesturing to Aurora’s wrist. “Something from a long time ago.” Khaos answered her. “This is going to get us nowhere, I don’t know why you chose this route again, she’s fucking crazy.” Mallory gestured to Jenna, “She’s crazier.” Olivia gestured at her now. “Again?” Jenna asked. The room got quiet. Reyes was studying her and something started to make sense.
Olivia opened her clutch and lifted out a long white box. “Olivia.” Storm warned. “What? It’s hers isn’t it?” She slid it across the table to her. She looked at it. She had never seen it before in her life. “What is this?” She asked not touching it. No one answered her. Reyes seemed like he was debating something. Scarlett reached across the table and picked the box up and flipped it open. “What is this?” Scarlett asked passing her the box now to see what was inside it. She looked down at a dark silver chain with a dark ruby pendant on it. She studied it. Where had she seen this before? Then it donned on her where she remembered it from.
The picture Chelsea had shown her, and every picture she had ever seen of her. Clover recognized it. “Why did she have that?” Clover asked any of the brothers that would answer. Shouldn’t she of been buried with that? She was so confused Reyes died before her so how did Olivia have her necklace.
Then her mind cleared. Olivia and Mallory were the female lovers of the reapers. She felt ill. Why was Reyes with her? Her head was swimming, “It’s you.” Scarlett said quietly. “This was supposed to go smoother than this.” Khaos said. “It’s them.” Jenna said moving from the table. Hades stood when she did. He reached for her. “Don’t touch me.” Jenna said backing away from him. He moved quickly and grabbed her sister and disappeared out of the room with her.
Her heart tripped over itself. “What the hell is going on?” She and Scarlett asked. Hades had just warped. Like the reapers did. “The bodies weren’t ours.” Khaos said looking at her sister. Scarlett started to move away from him. She looked at Reyes and he was watching her. Clover looked point seconds away from hyperventilating. She went to move but Storm was quicker and grabbed her and warped out like Hades had. “Where did they take them?!” She demanded to know.
They won’t hurt them.” Reyes said standing.
He blurred to her and grabbed her, one minute she was in the dining room the next she was in the bedroom. She shoved away from him the necklace still in her hands. “What the hell is going on?!” She yelled. Reyes watched her for a minute before responding.
She could hear Jenna yelling and then Reyes raised his hand and the room went quiet. “Soundproof.” He said as an exclamation. “The body you buried wasn’t mine. They were just four of my larger guards. When you hurt me, it was almost like a blessing.” Her heart was racing. She backed against the wall.
“There’s only two.” He shook his head. “No little fae, we switch off , this is me keeping my promise to you, I’m ending this for you. You don’t have to wonder anymore..” She just stared at him. “I was strong enough to manifest as a reaper. I was very angry with you when I came back.” Reyes was a reaper. No, Reyes was the reaper who did all the fucked up shit to her and had hurt her friends and destroyed her home.
Thinking back on how he worded certain things it was right in front of her. He was being deceptively honest. Reyes didn’t lie he just twisted his words and knew how to speak around anything he needed to. “You..killed me.” She choked out. Her Cimmerian was screaming in her head with everything going on to get away from him. “Little fae.” He moved towards her. “No!, Just don’t.” She wanted him away from her. She was already backed into a corner.
“Why have you done all of this?” She had so many emotions she was feeling at once. “You hurt me enough to kill me. So, I let you suffer and then I killed you. That’s all in the past now. Were here together and it went exactly how we planned. I am never letting you go.” He transformed before her eyes and surged at her and grabbing her by the throat.
