The Cowboy and His Best Friend

“She’ll be back soon, my love,” Colt says.

I lean back into him and soak him in.

“I know she will. I just got used to her being here every day.”

“I have ways to distract you, if that’s what you need.”

I moan. “Don’t start anything you can’t finish, and we can’t sneak away for at least another hour,” I say as I rub my ass against his cock.

“Soon as they’re gone, your ass better be naked in our bed.”

I groan, and he kisses my neck again then goes to help load up the van. When all the goodbyes are done, and they’re driving down the driveway, I look at Colt, and I see him giving me a questioning look. I turn and bolt up to our room.

No sooner than I lie on the bed does Colt walk in and go straight to the bathroom. I hear running water. When he comes out a few minutes later, he too has removed all his clothes. He walks up to me and holds out his hand. I take it and follow him into the bathroom.

“I thought we could take a relaxing bath together.”

I smile and climb in. That’s my Colt; he always seems to know what I need. Plus, what girl wouldn’t like a bath that includes three orgasms?

  Five Years Later

I never could have dreamed of a life this perfect. Sage is my wife.

  My wife.

I didn’t think anything could top watching her walk down the aisle of the ranch church to me in that lace dress.

Our honeymoon was amazing. We climbed Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park. It was on Sage’s bucket list, but she had always been scared to do it. It was a scary hike where in places you must hold onto a metal chain to keep your balance and not fall hundreds of feet to your death.

The view from the top and the look on her face when we made it was all worth it. I also took her to California and rented a convertible. We drove the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Seattle, making stops along the way for anything that caught her eye.

We ended our honeymoon in a cabin at Grand Teton National Park, her favorite place of all her travels. It was perfect and as promised, we had been on a vacation every year since.

I’ve worked off her list of items she didn’t get to do. Our first anniversary, I took her Alaska. We hiked part of a glacier with a tour guide and stayed at this cozy cabin where we got to see the Northern Lights. We even got to drive a dog sled.

That vacation was amazing. For our second anniversary, I took her to Hawaii. We toured Pearl Harbor and hiked the volcano like she wanted. We toured a pineapple farm and went snorkeling. We spent time on the beach, trying the local food, and even went to an authentic luau. My girl makes friends everywhere she goes and never takes the tourist path. She likes meeting the locals and seeing the location from the local’s side.

Then three years ago, she gave me the news that made me even happier. She was pregnant with our son. Sage was beautiful pregnant. She glowed, loving every minute of it, and I couldn’t keep my hands off her. So much so, Mac switched to helping Blaze on the east side of the ranch so I could be here on the west side with Sage.

I’m walking the barn now with my little man, and my heart is so full. He loves the barn and the ranch, and he loves dressing like Daddy. Sage has him in jeans and a flannel shirt. He even has his own cowboy boots and a cowboy hat on.

We walk toward the house and see Sage come out of the side door. She’s pregnant again, this time with a little girl. She looks so sexy with her baby bump on full display in the dress she has on.

“Grandma and Grandpa are here to take him to their house for the night,” she says.

I smile. It’s our anniversary, and Mom and Dad are looking forward to a night to spoil our little man. I don’t even make it to the door before my parents have him whisked off and heading to their house.

Sage and I are heading to our cabin like we do every year to celebrate. If she wasn’t already pregnant, she would be again after tonight. I’d keep her pregnant all the time if I could convince her of it.

“Come on, my sexy wife. I have plans for that sexy as sin body of yours,” I growl, and she laughs.

The drive out to the cabin seems to take three times as long. I’m so hard I could hammer nails.

When we get to the cabin, I want nothing more than to carry her to bed and keep her there all night, but I need to take care of both my girls, so I set her down at the kitchen table.

“Have to feed my girls first,” I say then I lean down to her ear. “And trust me, you’ll need all the strength you can get,” I whisper and watch her body shiver.

I bring the food to the table and pull her into my lap to feed her every bite. It’s something I love doing, knowing I’m taking care of her this way.

“Colt, I’m so full I couldn’t eat another bite.”

“Baby, just a few more. I want to make sure you and our baby girl get enough to eat.”

She groans and takes another bite. She doesn’t ever deny me. She told me once it’s such a turn on when I’m taking care of her like this.

When she’s done, I carry her to bed and take my time loving every inch of her all night long. I never want her to doubt my love for her. That’s why we had all the problems we did many years ago, and I promised her she would never have a reason to doubt me again.

I think I’m doing a good job. When she passes out after orgasm number six, I know I am.

  The Cowboy and His Obsession

  Chapter 1

  Megan

My brother Blaze got married today. He’s the first to get married, though Sage and Colt are getting married in two months. I can’t prove it, but I’m pretty sure Mom and Dad adopted Colt just so Sage didn’t lose him. I could tell from a young age, there was always something there, but now I’ve never seen them so happy.

I’m at the reception in the event barn on the ranch, watching Blaze and his new bride on the dance floor, and they look so in love. I want that, but I can’t let it get in the way of my dreams. I’ve been working at the beauty salon and once I finish school this semester, I finally get the last of the business signed over to me.

I’ve been working on it with the owner, Betsy. She knows I want to own the shop, and she has no one to leave it to, so she has me working there from the time I was sixteen, learning all aspects of the business. I started with cleaning and moved up to making appointments. Once I graduated high school, she helped me get my license to do nails and had me start there. Then I earned my makeup license, and finally the hair license.

After that, she had me working a chair for a bit then started me on the shop bookkeeping. She made me an assistant manager of the shop and instead of a pay raise, she gave me twenty-five percent of the shop. She then started taking a few days off a week or coming in late, so she could help watch her grandkids.

The condition to get twenty-five percent more was to get my associate’s degree in business management. I got another twenty-five percent when I took over the shop, and she retired to be with her family in Arizona. She will give me the last twenty-five percent when I finish my bachelor’s in business management. I have this last semester, and then it’s all mine.

I can’t let anything stand in my way of this. It’s so close I can feel it. My family understands. Blaze and Riley are heading to the lake house for their honeymoon. They have invited us all out a week later to give Riley the full lake house family experience, but I decline. I need to finish this paper and some reading. So, a house to myself for a week is heaven.

I glance around the dance floor, trying to find Hunter. He’s become my best friend, is always around, and has been one of my biggest supporters. He has fit in great with my family and after that first dinner, he’s always been around. He’s doing great in vet school and working with his dad at the clinic. He has helped with our cattle many times, so we give him a lot of hands-on experience, and he’s always there. I
can’t believe after this semester, he only has one more year of school. Then he’s a full-on veterinarian. I’m so proud of him.

As one of Blaze’s groomsman and I as one of Riley’s bridesmaids, we get to spend a lot of time together already. I love spending time with him. I see him on the dance floor with Abby, Sage’s friend who has been staying at the ranch. Her parents just died and having no other family, she has stayed with us until she gets back on her feet.

Seeing Hunter with his arms around Abby, laughing on the dance floor, does something inside me. It can’t be jealousy, right? Hunter is my best friend, but that’s it. We’re just friends. You don’t get jealous of your friends. You want them to be happy. This is the first time I’ve seen Hunter with another girl; that must be it.

Still, seeing him with Abby has me unsettled. It’s not that I don’t like Abby. She’s such a sweet girl and honestly, she’s perfect for Hunter. So, why does that thought make me want to punch someone? I’m not a violent person, but I feel like I could be right now.

The song ends, and I walk over to Hunter and put on my best fake smile for Abby.

“Can I have the next dance?”

“Oh, of course. You two have fun,” Abby says and walks over to Sage and Colt.

“You two seem to be having fun.”

  “Abby’s a nice girl.”

I look into his eyes and can’t make out the emotion I see in them.

“Maybe you should ask her out,” I say, even though it kills me to do so.

For a second, I think I see hurt flash across his face before it’s gone, and I can’t be sure.

“Abby is nice, but I’m not interested in her.”

“You’re interested in someone?” I ask, shocked. I didn’t know this.

I see a ghost of a smile cross his face “Yeah, this girl has had my attention for a while now. Won’t give me the time of day though,” he says and shrugs his shoulder.

“Who is it? Want me to talk to her?”

I get a full smile this time. “No, it’s okay. Timing isn’t good right now anyway.”

We dance in silence for a bit, and I let it go. I don’t think I want to know who has caught Hunter’s interest. I’ve never seen him go on a date since we’ve been friends or even heard him talking about dating. We hang out all the time and until now, I’ve never given it a second thought.

I enjoy my dance with Hunter and try to ignore how it feels to have his hands on me. How my body tingles when his eyes are on me. How special I feel when I have his attention, like nothing else around us matters.

He’s always been there for me. When Riley’s crazy ex-boyfriend showed up, and the guys were worried about him breaking into the house, which he eventually did, Hunter let me stay at his place. He was my prom date and to every dance at school after we met. Now, every time there’s a business event in town or one for the ranch, we go together. I’ve gotten so used to it, it’s comfortable.

“You still not going to the lake house?”

“No, I need to finish this paper and get caught up on some reading.”

“Care for some company? I told Sage I’d stay at the ranch while they are gone and watch the animals, but I can stay in a cabin if you don’t.”

  “You’re always welcome.”

“Good. Plan at least one movie night. We haven’t had one in a while.”

I love our movie nights. Popcorn, junk food, and Hunter makes some amazing milkshakes. We crash on the couch or on the bed in my room and watch movies until we pass out.

  “Deal.”

Too bad the ranch has other plans.
