“Thanks Jeremy,” Sydney stated with tears in her eyes.

  “I didn’t say anything because I have a condition.”

  “What? Anything!”

“I need you to see me once a year and I need to see my son and the children. I want to see you alone for one week once a year at my place of choice.”

Sydney’s face wrinkled, a frown crossed her beautiful face. Her eyes glared and shone like glass, then she shook her head. “No! No! No!”

“Either you agree to this or you will lose Danny and I will challenge you for my son. Sooner or later you will be mine I promise you. I always get what I want and I want you at any cost.” The coldness surrounded his heart, body, and mind. There was no reasoning with him.

“You have sunk so low Jeremy,” Sydney said wiping away what ever tears she had left that made her feel anything for Jeremy. What about Nadia?”

“Don’t worry about her. She wants me at any cost.”

“This is too sick to be believed.”

“That maybe so, but the end justify the means.”

“It doesn’t bother you that I hate you.”

“You’ll get over that and you won’t hate me forever. Remember, I’m the father of your baby and he’s my child.”

  “He’ll never be your child.”

  “Don’t be so sure.”

“Don’t be so sure of what? Danny said as he walked up to Sydney and Jeremy standing with their backs to him and whispering. “You two are going at it again.”

“It’s nothing.” She turned from Jeremy. “What did the doctor say? And when can I take my baby home?”

“Now, he’s doing fine. Thank Jeremy because he never left his side.”

Jeremy stood with a smirk on his handsome face with his clear green eyes that was once Danny’s face.

“Thanks.” A chill filled the air and covered her words. Jeremy walked off to meet Nadia in the cafeteria where she left to get some coffee.

Sydney and Danny finally relaxed for the first time in years. Danny turned to Sydney, “We’re closing the apartment and I’ve sold the house in LA. Max called to tell me that a rap artist purchased it yesterday. We’re going to take the children to the farm and live there away from everybody and everyone. You have two days and we are gone. Do you think you can be ready?”

“Yes, I need to get away from all these bad memories. Get me out of here Danny.” Sydney grabbed Danny and he held her close to him. She placed her head on his shoulder.

“I want to wipe away your tears and problems. I don’t want to see you cry. His hands touched her skin gently and she stopped because she knew that he would protect her from every threat, if only he knew the threat.

  Scotland

The family had been in Scotland for eleven months and had nothing but peace and quiet. The children played all day with the animals. No one knew they were around until they came in for supper. Sean the eldest was protective and loving with the younger children and took care of them. He had gotten the practice from being the head of the house at a very early age.

They settled into knowing their father, and after Sydney and Danny told the children what had happen to him, they were thankful that their father had come home and they prayed that he would never leave them again. Only Sean remembered what his father looked like, and he said he could always look at his uncle Jeremy if he ever missed that face. The other three were so young that they didn’t remember much.

All they wanted to see was their father’s green eyes because his eyes are gentle and calm. It was beginning to be a wonderful leisurely life. And Sydney was getting use to it. She didn’t need too much money and the money they had could last another couple of years without Danny working.

Max finally had time to reintroduce Danny into the movie community, and the world of movies had accepted him eagerly, especially since he was as great as he had ever been and some say better looking. Sydney lay in bed late with Danny. The children had already made their way on to the bed and made a trampoline of it. After trying to get their parents out of bed, they gave up and quickly left to play.

Danny locked the door, took off his top and dove next to a naked Sydney.

The phone sounded out a long ring.

“I’ll get it.” Danny watched Sydney and patted her naked behind as she climbed across him. She put on her beige silk robe and stepped on to the cold wooden floor. She had been expecting a call from Steven and Heather. They were flying in together within a week. This would be their first time in Scotland and Heather was especially excited about the visit because her mother’s parents came from a little village in Scotland, and she wanted to see Danny. She hadn’t seen her favorite man in years. She wanted to get a closer look at his gorgeous face, and see his eyes, and hear his Scottish brogue.

“Hello.” Sydney’s voice was upbeat and cheerful.

“Sydney, the year is ending and it’s time,” Jeremy said in a low sexual voice. “I’ll have a private jet ready next month. It’ll take you to Paris, where I’ll be waiting for you.”

She quickly hung up the phone and a cold mask covered her face. A chill ran through her soul. She knew she had to go. She knew Jeremy and his threats to which he always made good on them, and she knew that she had to satisfy Jeremy’s naked obsession or her life as she knows it would come to an abrupt end. She exhaled and thought that if she had one wish she would wish she could disappear.

She was gliding through a dream leading to a cliff.
