I laugh loudly, “I can walk, silly.”
“This is faster. I can’t wait to fuck my pregnant wife.”
“Girlfriend. You’re pregnant girlfriend.
“Not for long. We’re getting married. I’ll propose. Don’t worry. I’ll blow your socks off with a romantic as fuck proposal. But, we’re getting married. Soon.”
I blink a few times in an attempt to keep my own tears down, “Okay,” I whisper. “I love you, David Flynn.”
“I love you too, Cassandra Flynn.”
He sets me on our bed and spends the rest of the evening making love to me. I think it’s the first time I’d call it something other than fucking. He took me slow and easy kissing every part of my body. “You’re a fucking goddess, Cassandra. A goddess.”
I fall asleep in his arms repeating that word in my head over and over. Goddess. For the very first time in my life, I believe it. I am a goddess and I deserve this. We both do.
