She sat on the stone bench, strings of light glowing softly behind her head.
“It’s not quite right,” she said, touching her hair in its bun. It was sprayed into a sheen, rather than loose as Samuel had once imagined and placed on paper.
But she held out her hand. Samuel reached for her, taking the proffered fingers. He didn’t think he would be able to speak, but he realized as his drawing became reality, that words weren’t necessary at all.
