Cancel your plans, witches and warlocks! You're invited to tonight's Firewick Festival.
Taking multiple lovers is a family tradition. Hell, it's a witch tradition, but Charice Brixton isn't having it. She doesn't have time for a man, let alone two powerful warlocks. She's perfectly fine running her magic shop in Kala West, Florida with her sisters.
Until she's forced to attend the Firewick Festival, a biannual gathering with stuffy board members overseeing the match of witches and warlocks in hopes of creating the perfect triad. Magical speed dating at its finest. Charice would rather have a root canal. She's willing to use her powers to keep from going, even if it means the wrath of those in charge. That is until two hotter-than-hell men walk into her shop and alter her plans.
As powerful warlock enforcers, Kye and Warren carry out the laws within the magical community. It only makes sense for them to find a mate equally as strong. When they meet Charice, her magic calls to them. Only she can help complete their Mystical Triad, the binding ritual that increases all of their magic abilities. One that involves a lot of power and a lot of sex. Can the Alpha Warlocks convince her they're better as a threesome in both power and love?
This 13,000+ word story is the first of the Alpha Warlocks of Kala West interlinked series but can be read as standalone. It has strong sexual situations and explicit content. Mature and brave readers only.

Chapter One
The black soot wouldn’t come off. Charice Brixton knew for a fact she did the spell right. She always did her spells right, but this one blew up in her face. Literally.
“Come on,” she muttered under her breath. She was washing her hands for the fifth time. Or was it the sixth? Hell, it was like trying to get a wine stain out of carpet. Stupid spots wouldn’t budge. She’d even tried magic to get the stuff off, but nothing helped.
This is what she got when she tried to use magic to shield herself from the local Elemental Board, known as El-Board in the community. She’d been summoned by them, in an email, no less. Whatever happened to announcements by mail, anyway? It was more magical that way, but no. They had to be current and efficient. Bastards.
Her day had started out like any other, opening the shop she ran with her sisters. Ethereal Delusions was the only magical shop of its kind in the small town of Kala West, Florida that catered to the supernatural community and assisted to more than just tourists looking for juvenile love potions and hexes for enemies. As the owner, it was only natural for Charice to check the shop’s email, which she now dreaded doing.
She had been summoned by El-Board members to attend the local Firewick Festival that night. No advanced notice. That was just like the demanding rulers with god complexes. They only summoned witches and warlocks when they were reprimanded or thought their powers were strong enough to be combined with others during Firewick. She should have been flattered they thought she was at such a high level of magical ability. Instead, she was trying to use spellcasting to get out of it.
The whole purpose of the Firewick was to match one witch with two equally strong warlocks to form the perfect triad. It was the magical community’s way of keeping their power balanced in a world that was steadily increasing with new supernatural beings that threatened their everyday lives. Or so El-Board said.
The joining also helped stabilize a town that contained a higher than average male population, which her younger sisters Claire and Carmen frequently enjoyed, Carmen more than anyone. It probably explained why they were late, yet again, for their evening shift takeover.
Charice poured another round of soap on her hands and scrubbed as she thought about the ceremony their mother use to tell Charice and her sisters about when they were kids.
The matching ceremony had been as old as witches themselves. Her mother had even gone through it, like every woman in their family before her. It’s how she was matched to her husbands. Charice and her sisters had two fathers and their mother raising them. She remembered seeing how happy her mom and dads were when they thought she wasn’t looking. A caress here. A giggle there. Even more than that, it was the silence that passed between them in the subtle glances that made her crave what they had. They were in love. Still were after thirty years together.
Charice wanted a love like that. Just not now when the shop was finally doing well. She loved owning her business and not answering to anyone but herself, and she wasn’t going to give all that up just because a group of old magical men and women beckoned her. She may have been twenty-nine and single, but she wasn’t lonely. Her sisters made sure of that.
The bell that signaled a customer had entered the shop jingled and rang through the building.
Charice stilled. Hadn’t she put the Be Back in 30 sign out? She’d sworn she did.
“Hello?” a man’s voice called out. “Your door was unlocked. Are you open?”
“Oh, hell!” she chided herself. She must have been in such a hurry that she forgot to lock the door after flipping the break sign. “Just a minute!” she called out to them. She grabbed a hand towel and headed to the front of the store.
A man was leaning over her display case of natural stones and gemstones. Charice couldn’t see his face, but he dressed well and had a strong build hidden underneath the green dress shirt and khaki slacks. He was muscular for sure, and he definitely had a nice ass to go with it. Round and grab-worthy. She could stare at this stranger’s sexy backside for a good while, but she figured that wouldn’t be good for business.
“May I help you?” she asked.
“Yes, you can.” A second man she hadn’t seen spoke and was next to her.
His voice was laced with pure lust, and the sound made Charice want to melt into him. He towered over her and dwarfed her size, and she wasn’t short or small. He wore a black leather jacket that matched his black t-shirt and jeans. His long midnight-colored hair was clasped back, making the sharp features of his face stand out. What had Charice’s attention though were his full lips and hazel eyes. She wanted to taste those lips and could stare in those eyes until they consumed her whole.
Staring. She was staring, and from the way his eyes roamed over her body, he was appreciating his view too.
“What can I get you?” she asked, unable to pull away from those eyes. The more she looked into them, the more she thought she saw them shift, like something was rolling underneath and begging to be let out.
“That depends on what you’re offering,” the man with hazel eyes said.
Oh, this one was bad news. She just couldn’t figure out if she liked it or not, but her body’s reaction was saying she like him very much. He made the most inner parts of her tighten and beg for attention.
“Down, Warren,” the well-dressed man said to the taller one. A grin danced on his lips as he talked. “Excuse my friend here. I’m Kye.” He was only slightly shorter than the other man and leaner too, but he also made Charice feel small by overshadowing her.
The warm lighting of the shop made his chestnut hair shine with soft streaks of blond. Kye’s green eyes reminded Charice of the brightest gemstones she’d ever seen. Emeralds with a hint of darkness. Nothing she sold could match that entrancing color. He lifted his hand in greeting.
She raised her hand to meet his, but instead of shaking it, he brought it to his lips.
Her body responded to his soft caress
and firm kiss, but it went deeper than that. It was her power that answered him as well. She could feel it rumble beneath her skin, eager to meet this person that made it stir. It wanted to play with him in more ways than one. These men were definitely filled with magic and a strong level of it too.
She hated letting his hand go, but holding on while she helped them was not a sane option. “It’s nice to meet you,” she said, easing away. “I’m Charice, the owner. What exactly are you looking for?”
“We may have found it already,” Warren said.
Charice saw a wicked smile curve up his mouth. She felt like a deer being eyed by a starving wolf. Fear should have filled her by the way he watched her. Instead, her pussy clenched and made her bite her lower lip to stifle a moan.
From his widening smile, he knew what he was doing to her.
She walked behind the counter to put some distance between her and these men, who were reminders that it had been a long time since she had sex. Too long.
Kye said, “We were told that you have the best charms and ingredients for spells in Kala West.”
“Our loyal customers are to thank for that. Who recommended you?”
“Old friends.” Kye smiled so it reached the corners of his eyes. “We never see a modest witch these days. You’re a refreshing sight.”
“Thank you. I think.”
“It was definitely a compliment.” He leaned over the counter making it hard to put any more space between them since the floor-to-ceiling bookshelf was at her back.
She stood her ground. “You still haven’t told me what you’re here for.”
Warren started to speak, but Kye silenced him with his hand.
“We desire the missing part of a cloaking spell.”
Charice stared at him. “Cloaking spell?”
“Yes. A powerful one. One that can hide the most powerful magical being.”
He placed an intricate, dark blue cloth down in front of her. White cursive writing wove into it, and the words looked like a magic spell.
She eased a little closer to read it, which meant getting closer to Kye. He smelled so good, like seawater and sunlight, if you could bottle up such a scent.
She had to focus on what to say to him. “What part do you need?”
“The powder of a stone I’m sure only you can procure. Grounded passion stone.”
Charice leaned over more, remembering the blood-red stone she had bought weeks before to sell. “And how is the powder used?”
“A pinch of it rubbed into the skin along with the incantation.” He showed perfect teeth as he kept eye contact with her. “Do you have such a stone?”
“I’m not sure. I’ll have to check my stock.”
“That would be greatly appreciated.”
Charice started to move to the gemstone area, not sure how she could go through it without them seeing the actual stone.
Their coming in right when she needed it had to be the Fates. Maybe their spell would do the trick.
She needed that stone if she was going to hide from El-Board until the Firewick Festival was over. It was just three days. Then she would face the consequences afterward. Better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.
Before she could move away, a hand covered hers. Warmth flooded her, but under it was a source of magic that had the power to do anything it wanted.
She looked up at Warren staring intently at her.
“You have something,” Warren said. “A dark smudge. Right there.”
His hand reached up to her face before she could think of what he was doing.
She allowed him to roll his thumb over her cheek. It was so innocent, but deep down, it was the most intimate touch she ever experienced. He wasn’t just grazing her cheek. He was touching every intimate part of her. She closed her eyes and fell into his touch, and the power intensified.
The air around her came alive. Charice could feel her air element rise to the surface to stretch its reach. He power had to meet this man that stroked it awake. She felt a draft in the shop, but no window or door was open. Her element wasn’t just waking up. It was ready to dance.
Her power never reacted like this when she used it on her own by doing spells. These men were more than ordinary men. They had to be warlocks.
She had to pull it back into herself, or she would lose control of it.
Was this man touching her responsible? Did he stir her magic with a simple caress?
Charice imagined him using those strong hands to roam her body, thumbs grazing her nipples and palms cupping her breasts.
The front door bell went off again, or she thought it did. She was too far gone to check or even care. All that mattered was this man’s touch. This stranger who reached a part of her that no other lover had just by rubbing her face.
“Charice?” a voice called.
She knew that voice. Her eyes opened wide to see her sisters standing in the doorway, staring at this strange man touching her face.
Charice pulled back fast, and immediately felt the disconnection. She fell back into the bookcase and books scattered onto the floor. Thankfully, none hit her in the head. Although, that seemed like a good way to avoid the awkward situation she was currently in.
Everyone was staring at her. Her cheeks heated up.
The two guys probably thought she was a loon, and her sisters already placed her in crazy town because she spent all her hours in the shop or buying things for it. No social life whatsoever.
“Are we interrupting?” Claire asked. As the middle sister, Claire was the real balance to the three of them. While Charice was the calm one, usually, and Carmen was the emotional one, Claire embodied both of their personalities.
Charice could see the conflicting questions dance in Claire’s head, while Carmen’s huge smirk was hard to miss.
“Please say we’re interrupting something,” Carmen said.
Charice tried to think of a reasonable explanation for why she was being so intimate with a customer, but she had nothing. “Our customers were...”
“Just leaving,” Kye said. “Thank you for your help. Let me know if you find the stone. You can reach us by using that cloth. It was a pleasure, Charice.”
He kept her gaze for a moment longer before turning to leave. He had to tug at his friend, who hadn’t even turned to acknowledge her sisters. Warren’s focus remained intent on Charice as he leaned over the counter, an intensity that felt like he could melt her clothes off with a blink of his eyes.
Yep, Charice thought. This one is definitely dangerous.
“Let’s leave these ladies to their business,” Kye said to him.
“Until we meet again.” Warren said.
Charice didn’t have time to say anything before they left the store.
Now, she had to face her relentless sisters, who would bombard her with questions about what just happened when she had no clue. Goody.
Chapter Two
It took everything Warren had in him not to storm back into the woman’s shop and take her for theirs. She’d been so close he could taste her strength on his tongue, and he wanted more. Touching her had been close enough to send him over the edge.
Charice was her name. The woman was a drug, and he’d quickly developed an addiction for her with a simple graze of her skin. He wanted to have her naked beneath him and screaming in pleasure as their powers merged as one.
He’d been hard since he laid eyes on her, such a pliable body he could explore days at a time. Curves that he wanted to discover with his hands and mouth. His cock ached for her as his power screamed to have her join them and make them complete.
“You need to calm down,” Kye said as he placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder. “If I could feel your power slipping out, she could too. We don’t want to scare her.”
“She’s ours. We shouldn’t have to wait for that damn Firewick to merge with her.” Warren dug his nails into his palms to try and center himself, so he could regain focus. He’d never been this on edge b
efore. All because of that curvy woman with warm-brown skin he could kiss forever.
“I know. I felt it too, but she doesn’t know we’re her chosen. We have to wait until tonight. There’s nothing we can do until she chooses us in return.”
“She tried shielding herself from them,” Warren said. He couldn’t keep the disappointment from seeping into his words. “The remnants of the magic were still on her. That black smudge I touched on her cheek is proof. We can’t have her run from us.”
“Yes,” was all Kye could say.
Normally, Warren was the quiet one, so his friend’s lack of words made him angry. They couldn’t stand back and do nothing. What if that cloaking spell Kye gave her worked too well?
“I have to go back in.” Warren turned, but Kye’s strength held him back.
“No!” Kye shook his head. “I gave her that spell so she could see.”
“You gave her another cloaking spell. She won’t be able to join us if we can’t find her.”
“It wasn’t a cloaking spell.”
Warren stopped struggling, his eyes wide with confusion. “What the hell was it then?”
“A spell for her to know the truth. The truth about us when the time is right. This isn’t the moment for her, but it will lead her to us when she desires it. No sooner.”
Warren’s muscles tensed as he tried to rein in his power and silence his inner voice urging him to go back for her.
“The bond between the three of us has already ignited,” Kye said, his voice revealing surprise at their connection. “I didn’t think it would be this fast or such strong a pull.”
“You didn’t think she was the one. Remember?” Warren asked.
Kye had been reluctant to merge their powers with a woman El-Board had chosen for them. He and Warren had been a strong warlock pair for years.
They did well on their own, and the magical community respected them. That’s why Kye insisted they go behind the board’s backs and find the woman on their own. He refused to merge their powers with someone who could weaken them.
