She had to agree. “What about you, love?” She wanted to give him the same pleasure. Her hands twisted and she tugged the bow loose and freed her hands.

Dar sighed happily and rolled onto his back, resting his head on her mound. “I’m good. Came in my pants,” he rumbled happily while he stared up at the ceiling. “That was so hot, I couldn’t help it.” He yawned hugely and wiggled around to crawl up beside her and collapse on the pillows.

Cass rolled over and cuddled against his side. “Mmm, it was nice. Why don’t you take those jeans off and snuggle with me?” She eyed the damp spot spreading across the front on his jeans and grinned.

“Yeah, sure, in a minute,” he mumbled in a sleepy voice but made no move to get up.

A minute passed and she peeked up at him. He was dead asleep. Just like a man, she thought to herself contentedly as she felt sleep pressing down on her as well.

Just before she gave in to the insistent summons, she thought of her missing pets again. I hope they aren’t hurt. She didn’t think the snake man was coming back. Some instinct told he had had gotten whatever it was that he had come for. Why did he take them?

  Epilogue

Tantrum and El Fuzz huddled against each other and trembled in the huge white room. Several feet away, Chichi and Deb growled in another corner.

Tantrum yowled low in his throat and eased his lithe frame forward a step. He was confused and scared. She Who Opens Cans wasn’t there and he didn’t recognize any of the strange scents in the room. He wanted to go home!

Suddenly, the room was filled with a blinding white light, and he fell over, stunned, as unimaginable agony raced through his body. His muscles spasmed and clenched and then felt as if each one was being pulled apart and molded into something different. He was vaguely aware of the other animals squealing along with him.

Just as suddenly, the pain faded and he lay on the floor panting.

Then he became aware of several things.

He could feel every whiff of breeze across his skin and his nose seemed stuffed up. He could barely smell anything! His eyes opened and he looked at his paw in horror. Instead of the dainty toes and fur he had been expecting, he saw long, ugly fingers. His gaze traveled up a muscular arm and he rolled over awkwardly.

He had been turned into a human!

Two naked human females stared at him, open-mouthed, from the other side of the room where Chichi and Deb had been sitting.

A door slid open with a whoosh of displaced air and two uniformed men with reptilian features marched into the room. They pulled the women to their feet and bound their wrists behind their back. “Shigan Rachat and Chider Veree, you are under arrest for illegal transport to a No Contact planet and attempting to introduce a hazardous substance into the populous.” The men informed them of their legal rights as they ushered them out of the room. The women struggled futilely against their captors. “Brilliant move, you idiots. You created a strain of the human common cold,” one of the men added contemptuously.

“What?” screeched Deb. Or was her name Chider? “You fucking idiot!” she bellowed at her partner in crime.

Two more men came into the room right after them. “What do you mean no one recorded their genetic profiles before shifting them?” the smaller male was yelling.

Tantrum meowed softly, completely confused that he could understand these strange beings’ words, even though most of the meaning behind them was lost to him.

“I’m sorry, sir. There was a screw up in the labs. We can’t send them back. We’ll have to place them somewhere on the ship,” the taller male replied anxiously.

Can’t send them back? Who? Me? Who’s them? Tantrum felt panic welling up in him. I want to go home!

The males stared down at him with consternation. “How the hell are you going to place two animals changed into humans on this ship?” the smaller male growled angrily. Something moved behind him and he turned his head. Another human male sat, nude, where El Fuzz had been. His skin was marble white and he had long, fluffy, apricot colored hair falling in his face.

The human El Fuzz worked his jaw for a minute and then spoke. “I like carrots.”

  Tantrum screamed and passed out.
