by E. M. Leya

Tevon welcomed the caress of Randy's tongue and pushed his own into Randy's mouth, feeling the sharp edge of his teeth against it. His body ached as his cock pushed through the small pocket of his body as it hardened and pressed against Randy's waist.

Randy broke the kiss and smiled as he stared at Tevon. His hands caressed over Tevon's body, then lower to grasp his cock and stroke it several times.

Tevon moaned as his hips thrust forward. It had been so long since he'd had a lover that the feel of another's touch was almost foreign to him. His cock pulsed and he reached out to grip Randy to keep from floating away from him.

Somewhere in his mind, he realized that Randy wasn't hard. There wasn't even a hint of a bulge yearning to push through the small pocket, but Tevon didn't have time to think much more of it as Randy tightened his fist around his cock and started to move in steady strokes.

Tevon closed his eyes and rotated his hips back and forth, sliding his cock through Randy's grip. He was lost in the sensation of his touch. His grip perfectly wrapped and his fingers gliding just where Tevon would have had his own if he was bringing himself off. It was as if Randy knew his body and exactly how to touch him.

It didn't take long before Tevon's body started to tense as his orgasm pushed forward. He tried to fight it back, wanting to make the pleasure last for as long as possible. His body was having nothing of it. His release came fast and hard, his body trembling as it built, and then jerking as he cried out with a long squeak as his body exploded and hot streams of cum surged from him and floated through the water where Randy still worked his cock.

Tevon reached down between them and stilled Randy's hand, his body still shaking from his release. He stared at Randy in awe, shocked that this was happening between them. He pulled Randy close once more and kissed him. He didn't want to let go, didn't want this to end, but the thought that Randy wasn't enjoying this stopped him, and he pulled back and motioned to the surface.

Randy gripped his hand and smiled as they both pushed up.

Once they both surfaced, Tevon struggled with what to say. He took a deep breath. "That was amazing."

"Yeah, it was." Randy moved his tail fin so it once again pressed against Tevon.

  "Thank you. I didn't expect —"

"But you don't mind that we did, do you?"

"No. Not at all. But you didn't… You got no pleasure." Tevon gestured to Randy's waist. "You still can't or you weren't aroused."

Randy shook his head. "I'm aroused. That isn't the problem. I want you something fierce. Just seems my body isn't up to the task, yet."

Tevon blushed at Randy's bluntness. "Have you tried before?"

"Yeah, several times. Nothing." Randy shrugged as if it was nothing, but the pain was clear in his eyes. "You warned me it might not work."

Tevon reached out and touched his fingers to Randy's cheek. "I hoped it would. It still could. There was a lot of damage."

"It's okay, Doc. I know you did all you could."

Tevon shook his head. "If I'd only had better equipment, more training…"

"Don't do this, Tevon. It wasn't your fault. You did everything to save me. I'm alive and that is enough, right?"

Tevon could tell Randy didn't really believe that, and was probably just trying to make him feel better. "We'll contact that friend of mine inland. See if he can help you."

Randy pulled him closer and kissed him softly, then pulled back. "Maybe. He might not be able to do anything. I don't blame you, and don't want you to blame yourself."

Tevon blinked several times. "You're taking this better than I would."

"Would being angry do me any good? Change anything? I've had a lot of time to think about it. I've laid in bed at night and tried every fantasy I could think of to get a reaction. Nothing works. And if what we just did didn't get a response from me, I really doubt anything will."

"Was that what this was? Just you seeing if physical closeness would cause you to get hard?" Tevon pulled back.

"No. God no. Don't think that. I'm attracted to you. I wanted this between us. It wasn't some stupid experiment."

Tevon pushed away and swam to the other side of the pool. "It's best we don't do that again. I'm your doctor, it's not right."

"We should ignore this attraction between us?" Randy was at his side, touching his shoulder.

"It's just because we have spent so much time together. We hardly noticed each other before your injury."

Randy sighed. "Don't do this, Tevon."

"Do what? Speak the truth. Our lives are different. We wouldn't have ever come together if it wasn't for you needing my help."

"I think I know what I feel." Randy gripped Tevon shoulder and turned him to face him. "I don't want to stop."

"I can't. Not now. I'm your doctor and besides, it's one sided, you get no pleasure from this."

"That's where you're wrong, Doc. This was different from any other experience. Maybe because I can't just focus on the physical side. I wanted you satisfied, and watching you come was as satisfying as any sexual release I've ever had. You can't deny this feels right." Randy once again brushed their tail fins together.

Tevon sucked in a breath. "I'm your doctor."

  "So?"

"So I took an oath when I graduated school. This isn't proper."

"You know that's a lame excuse."

It probably was, but the emotions that Randy stirred inside him were too dangerous. If he didn't put a stop to this now, he would end up getting hurt once Randy recovered and went back to his life. Once Randy returned to training and his own friends, Tevon had no doubt that he would be forgotten.

"It just won't work between us." Tevon shrugged away, shifted, and stepped out of the pool. "I've got some things to do. You want to swim for a bit and I'll come back in an hour?"

Randy frowned. "Sure. Hour sounds good."

Tevon grabbed his robe and folded it instead of putting it on. "Yell, if you need me, I'll be close enough to hear." He stared at Randy for a long moment before he made his way from the chamber.

  CHAPTER TEN

Randy watched Tevon leave and let out a long sigh before turning and diving deep into the water. His stomach knotted as he replayed Tevon's rejection in his mind. He should have known that no one would want him now that he wasn't able to get hard.

It was understandable. He couldn't deliver pleasure the way he used to. He wasn't whole. Only half a man. Sure, he could still use his mouth and hands, but that wouldn't be enough for anyone. He might as well get used to the fact that he would be alone the rest of his life.

A large fish swam by him and he took off after it, catching it in his hand before bringing it to his mouth and biting into it, enjoying the crunch of bone and smell of fresh blood that surrounded him. He turned his focus on feeding, not stopping until every fish was gone.

Even then, he stayed deep in the pool as if he could hide from the world above. He was better off alone. He closed his eyes as he floated just above the floor of the pool. He wanted to be angry, but he wasn't. He wouldn't change what he did, even if he'd known the outcome. If he went the rest of his life without sex, then so be it. It wasn't an option he would have chosen for himself, but there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it now.

  "Randy!"

His eyes flew open at the sound of his voice and he looked up just in time to see Heath dive into the water. He smiled as he watched his brother shift and head toward him.

Using the sharp clicks of his tongue Randy welcomed him. He reached out and hugged his brother as soon as he was close enough. He had always been close to Heath, but with his new duties as king, Randy hadn't had much time with him unless it was to discuss training or clan business. He missed the lazy afternoons when he and his brothers would sneak away to one of the close islands and swim.

Heath gestured to the surface and Randy followed him up, breaking through the water and swimming to the stairs.

Heath floated on his back as he glanced over at Randy. "Doc know yo
u're swimming?"

"Yeah, he was here for a bit. I actually walked in here myself."

Heath raised a brow. "All healed up?"

"Still have to take it slow, but I can at least get around a bit."

"Good." Heath rolled to his stomach and reached out to grip the side of the pool. "I was worried about you."

"I told you all I would be fine."

Heath nodded. "Was still worried. I was there when they brought you in."

Randy rubbed a hand down his face. "I hope to be back training by the end of the month."

"You sure that isn't too soon?"

"I can at least do something. I can't stand sitting around on my ass any longer. I'm going fucking nuts doing nothing."

"I can bring you some paperwork if you want. God knows my desk is full of it."

  "Second guessing being king?"

"No, just wasn't quite ready for it. Sage is the one who knows how everything works, and with him living inland now, I have to figure it all out by myself."

"You know Sage would be willing to help if you just asked him."

Heath flipped his tail fin and then pushed away from the edge. "I don't want to bother him. I haven't seen him this happy in a long time. He works the sites I need him to, runs the crew, but I don't want to drag him away from Gary any longer than I have to."

Randy frowned as he wondered what it would be like to go home to someone every night. It was something he wasn't likely to ever know now. No one would ever take him. "I can try to help." Randy pushed away from the stairs to float beside his brother.

"You just get better. Once you feel up to it, you can start taking over the files of all the new members."

"Tevon said I should be back in my own chambers tonight. I'll drop by the office tomorrow and have a look."

"Wait a minute. I don't expect you to jump right back into it now. Give yourself time to heal."

"I gotta do something, Heath. I'm going crazy."

"Then let me bring the files to you. I'm not sure Tevon wants you up and walking around just yet."

"I'll talk to him tonight. He mentioned maybe using a cane."

"I bet you didn't like that idea."

  "Not one bit."

Heath laughed. "Swallow your pride, brother. You're alive. Using a cane is nothing compared to how bad it could have been."

Randy grunted and dove deep into the water. He swam from one side of the pool to the other before rising back up. "Have someone bring files to my room tomorrow. I'll start looking through them. If you need help with other stuff, just ask. I need to keep busy. Keep my mind of shit."

"What kind of shit?" Heath looked worried.

"Nothing I want to talk about right now."

Heath nodded and seemed okay to let the subject go. "I'm going to buy an apartment complex inland."

  "Barron mentioned you might."

"Is this going to be a problem with training?"

"You going to allow the new members to live there instead of here?"

"I've thought about it. I wanted your opinion on this before I made and final decisions."

"I think as long as they spend enough time here to understand our ways and how to survive with the clan if they are ever forced to have to stay here, then it won't be an issue. If they start slacking off and not showing up for training, then we have problems."

"I'll make sure. I've talked to a lot of the other members and almost half say they would like to move inland. Things could really change around here if that many go."

Randy tried to imagine half the clan gone. "They will still work the waters?"

"Yeah, nothing would change other than where they live. We need to keep working to maintain the clan." Heath pulled his long, blond hair back from his face.

The gold and treasures found from digging old underwater sites was what the clan used to survive. Each man got a monthly portion of the total find to use as he desired.

"We also need to think about getting another doctor. I've been talking to Tevon, and while he won't really outright admit that we need one, I can tell."

  "What do you mean? Problems?"

"No, just he doesn't ever leave here. Always on call. I don't think he's taken a day off in years."

"Come to think of it, he is always here. I don't think I've ever seen him even join in the hunts."

Randy shook his head. "He worries about something happening and him not being close. But that also brings up a new issue. If we have so many members living inland, we are going to need someone there trained to take care of our clansmen as well. As Tevon said, I was lucky this happened so close to the caves. If I had been close to the inland, I wouldn't have lived."

"So you think we need another doctor for inland?" Heath treaded the water.

"At least one. Maybe two. Melan is trained to help, but he has no formal schooling. Tevon isn't even sure that Melan wants to become a doctor."

"So in other words I need to find a couple people who are willing to go to medical school?"

"Yep, and might not hurt to have Tevon train a couple people to assist him more while they go to school. We should have thought ahead on this."

Heath sighed. "I don't know why Father didn't plan ahead. I wish Tevon would have said something."

Randy smiled as he thought about the doctor. "I don't think it's his way, probably didn't really even think about it. He just accepts that this is his job and does it. I get the feeling he wouldn't know what to do if he had time off."

"That needs to change. You're right, if we are going to be moving inland, we need to get a clinic going there as well. I've called a meeting of the clan in a week and will add it to the agenda." Heath looked tired as he ducked his head under water for a moment.

When he rose back up, Randy gave him a hard stare. "You getting enough rest?"

"No, but I don't have much of a choice. With so many changes and the mess that Father left behind, I feel like I'll never catch up."

"What can I do to help?"

  "Just get better."

"No, seriously, Heath, I am going nuts with nothing to do. If you have work for me, let me at it."

"You sure you're up to it?"

"I'm not going to be chasing you through the halls, but I sure the hell can handle some paperwork." Randy rubbed his hand down his tail fin. "I feel a lot better, and if Tevon thinks I'm good enough to return to my own chambers, then I am more than able to work at a desk."

Heath nodded. "I'll see what I can get to you then. I'll also speak with Tevon about his needs and see what I can do to ease the pressure on him."

"Thanks." Randy hoped Tevon wouldn't be upset at his interference. The last thing he wanted to do was offend him.

Heath moved to the stairs and shifted back to human form. "You want help back to your bed?"

He did, but he wanted Tevon to be the one to help him. "I'm okay for a bit longer. Nice to get off my butt for a change."

"Then I will drop by your chamber tonight." Heath rose up out of the water.

"Tuck me in and give me a bedtime story?" Randy teased.

Heath laughed. "I think storytelling is more Barron's job. Maybe I'll drag him along." Heath dropped his royal robe over his head. "See you tonight."

Randy gave a small nod and watched his brother leave. Once alone in the silence of the chamber, his mind returned to what had just happened with Tevon. It was a mistake he shouldn't have made, but the attraction to the doctor was unsettling. Maybe it was a good thing he was going back to his own chamber. He hoped working with Heath would help distract him.

He wouldn't push Tevon for more. It was clear Tevon didn't want an incomplete mate. Why should he when he could have someone whole, someone who could return the pleasure?

Randy dove deep in the water, trying to push back the pain he felt over his injury. Not just the physical pain, but also the emotional pain that seemed even stronger than the physical ever had.

As he swam laps back and forth, he swore to himself he wouldn't make another m
istake like he had with Tevon. From here on out he was going to have to face the fact he would grow old alone. Having a lover in his life was a thing of the past and it was just something he would have to get used to.

  CHAPTER ELEVEN

Tevon stared at the rock ceiling above his bed. He sighed loudly as he pulled one of the blankets up around his shoulders. He'd been trying to sleep for hours, but all he could think about was the way Randy's body felt against his own and the feel of his hand on his cock.

Another sigh and he rolled to his side, closed his eyes and tried to forget the taste of Randy's mouth against his. He didn't need this. He was happy alone. He wasn't going to be some experiment for Randy, and that is exactly what he felt like. As he replayed the day's events over his mind, it became clear that Randy was only testing his body, trying to force it to react to physical stimulation. He was a fool for hoping it could be anything more.

It was best that Randy was now in his own chamber and they wouldn't have to deal with each other as much. The space would help ease the sting of what happened between them. His cock stirred and he tried to ignore it. The hardness pressed against his thigh as he remembered the way Randy's hand felt as it worked over him.

It had been so long since he had a lover. He didn't have the time to go find someone, and there was no one in the clan that had ever drawn his attention, until now. Getting Randy off his mind was going to be a challenge. He liked him, had ever since they had first brought him in. The more time they had to talk and get to know each other, the attraction grew.

He'd been able to keep it professional before, but now, after what they did together, he wasn't sure what to expect between them. He still had to check on Randy a few times a day, and now that he knew Randy was having issues getting hard, he really needed to examine him. What he needed was to get him inland and have him looked at by a urologist. He hoped Randy would be willing to take that step. He didn't want to think what kind of life Randy would face if they didn't get this taken care of.
