Giovanni Page 6

There’s a huge issue with her father fucking us all over, but whatever his plan is I no longer believe he means to keep his daughter safe.

  No, that’s my job now.

And I plan to protect her with everything I fucking have.

  “Giovanni,” she moans.

My dick is brick hard and needy and I push it deep inside her, over and over again. Letting her cries of pleasure rip through me. Right to my heart. I am feeling something more than lust with this girl, and I’m not one to ever fall for anyone.

“You’re not going any fucking where, Kelly, but staying right here in this bed. Legs spread. Pussy wet. Under me,” I growl.

  “Yes, Giovanni, yes.”

I lay with her all night, holding her closely, pushing inside her when our bodies are nearly spent. Claiming her until the sun shines through the curtains and I can no longer keep my eyes open. And I think she loved every minute of it.

  Fuck knows I definitely did.

  Chapter Ten

  Kelly

You know what’s worse than being kidnapped?

  Being kidnapped twice.

In the wee hours of the morning after a marathon session of sex with Giovanni, I am starving. In case you didn’t realize, I’m always starving. That’s why I usually run in the mornings, to work off everything I’ve eaten the night before.

I remember that there are some leftover sandwiches from yesterday’s lunch put in the fridge, and so I sneak down to the kitchen for a bite.

Yeah, those are going to be so good!

The house is eerily quiet. Many of the guests have long since left for their own homes and anyone who stayed was fast asleep in their rooms.

Before I can even process what is happening there is a banging near the pantry. I drop my sandwich and swivel around in the stool.

A man with dark eyes rushes up on me, and before I can even scream, he grabs me, putting a hand over my mouth.

  What the fuck?

Clad only in one of Giovanni’s white dress shirts and pair of panties, I put up a fight, kicking him as he lifts me from the stool and carrying me through the kitchen. I kick and thrash my body as he has the hardest time keeping his hold on me. Tears fill my eyes as I glance around the kitchen looking for anything to help me in this situation. Where’s a knife block when you need one?

Who keeps a kitchen this spotless?

  Where is everyone?

I bite at his hand, but it doesn’t even phase him. It’s useless but I still put up the fight of my life anywa as he drags me from the house and into the back of a van sitting right next to the house.

“Sit still,” a deep voice booms in my ear, and then a hand slaps me across my face.

The sting burns as I try to squirm to the back of the outdated van. It smells of sweat and fried food. It’s a horrible combination. It makes me sick, but not as sick as I feel when I think about what could possibly happen to me.

I don’t recognize the man who grabbed me, nor the driver. Their dark greasy hair hangs over their demented eyes.

I pull my knees into my chest, until the man in the back with me grabs some sort of colored rag and covers my mouth with it.

  I’m being drugged again.

I hold my breath until I can’t fight it anymore and the chloroform takes over and slowly fades everything to black.

It’s dark as I crack open an eye. Blood stains my mouth with its bitter taste. My whole body throbs with pain.

I twist in the chair, trying to wrestle free my hands from the restraint. My head is still cloudy from falling to the floor of the van as well as the chloroform.

I glance around, trying to take in my surroundings. The smell hits my nose and I almost hurl from it.

Dead something or other wafts through the old abandoned warehouse. The sound of voices far away scare me, and I tense my body.

My body aches and I swear they must have kicked me or something a few times while I was passed out. I can feel it in my sore ribs.

More than anything I pray for Giovanni. I’m not even really sure why. He kidnapped me as well, but he would never hurt me, not like this, and I know he’s the only one who can save me.

Footsteps sound off in the distance, and I hold my breath as they draw near.

“She’s in here, Boss,” the same deep voice from the van says.

Another man with dark hair and a wicked smirk enter the room. If evil had a face it would be the second man with the smirk. I cower away from him, but he just stalks closer.

His eyes are an intense chocolate color, and when he stands closer I notice a snake tattoo creeping up his neck. I try to focus on it, but he fists his hand in my hair and tugs my head back.

“So, you’re the bitch causing all the problems.” He reaches his hand back, and smacks me clean across the face.

My vision blurs as I cry out.

As the thoughts of killing this man cross my mind, the next vision that enters my mind is Giovanni. The one person I trust to help me.

  But, that’s a fool’s wish.

No one’s coming for me. This isn’t like the movies where a prince comes charging in to rescue the princess.

Chances are that my prince doesn’t even realize that I’m gone yet, and once he does, will he simply think that I just left on my own?

  Chapter Eleven

  Giovanni

“What do you mean she’s gone?” I slam my hand on the desk as I listen to one of my bodyguards, Frankie, try one more time to explain what the fuck just happened.

“Sir, she was snatched right from the kitchen.”

“Snatched?!” I spin around. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

For a moment I thought she just left on her own, but she was taken? How could anyone even get past the guards? Past the cameras undetected? I pinch the bridge of my nose and take a deep breath.

  “Find her,” I spit out.

Frankie leaves and I fall into my leather high-back chair. I need to figure this out. I need to find her. I was just in between her legs and now some other man has taken her?

My first thought is that her father took her and I curse under my breath.

Henry, you motherfucker, what have you done with her? What are you up to?

I shake my head, pulling my cell phone out from my pants.

“Leo, call me back,” I say at the beep of his voicemail. Where is he?

My chest aches at the thought of what might be happening to her.

Another family soldier, Gio, walks in. “Boss?”

  “What?” I snap.

  “We have some news.”

  “You found her?”

He shakes his head. “We have Leo on the security camera. He watches her get taken.”

“What?” My chest grows hot with anger and disbelief. “That has to be a mistake.”

  “It isn’t. He was here.”

  “Where is he now?”

“Gone. His room is clean. Left right after she was taken.”

I slam my fist down on the kitchen counter, the exact spot where Kelly was taken. Her sandwich, half-eaten still sits on the counter. I run my hand down my beard.

“Pull some more men,” I say, very slowly. “And find her.”

He walks out and I make my way out of my office, and head in the direction of the security room.

“Not one motherfucker saw anything?” I ask before I’m fully in the room.

The three guys manning the monitors glance up, but don’t meet my eyes.

“No Boss,” an older man, who runs the day-to-day security here. “It’s like she vanished.”

  “Play it back.”

Another man punches a few keys on a keypad in front of him and the monitors bring up Kelly in the kitchen.

“See, she was in the kitchen and there’s Leo,” the same man says, pointing to the screen.

“And then what?” I cross my arms, my eyes glued to the screen.

The monitor flickers, and the next second Kelly is gone.

  “Everyone ou
t,” I say.

The three of them exchange glances of uncertainty until I yell for them to leave and they rush out.

Henry and Leo took her. I’m sure of it. No one else would be able to get in and out of here like that.

I grab my phone and try Leo’s number again and it rings to voicemail. I try once more and finally get through. I’m actually surprised he picked up the phone.

  “Where are you?” I say.

“I was held up with that little fresh piece of pussy I met the other night.” He laughs a little.

“Someone says they saw you here last night.” I feel like all the words are just falling from my mouth at a fast pace. “Kelly was taken.”

“I’ve been here in Detroit the whole time,” he says with no humor in his voice.

  “Where’s Henry?”

“How the fuck should I know?”

“Just get to the house in Glenvale.”

  “On my way.”

We hang up and I watch the monitors a few more times until Justin walks through the door. He’s another boy that Leo and I grew up with in the house and I trust him almost as much as anyone.

  “Tell me everything,” he says.

I play back the tapes and he’s silent as he watches them. The moment she vanishes, his eyes grow larger.

  “Thinking what I’m thinking, Giovanni?”

  “Yeah.”

We leave the security room and head back to my office without uttering a word.

Whoever took her was able to manipulate my security monitors. And when I find the dumb fuck who thinks he can screw with me, well, he’ll be dead.

Kelly’s already been through enough. I know I kidnapped her but I never wanted any harm to come to her. I thought I was protecting her. And now I’ve done a piss poor job of that.

Once the solid door to my office shuts, Justin spins around. “What do you want to do?”

I shake my head. “I don’t even know where to look. Who would take her? Who would dare risk their life to take her out of my house?”

“That’s what we need to figure out.”

I pace the room, unable to even contain my anger. I want to kill the people responsible. I stare into Justin’s brown eyes. “Who?”

“Well, we need to think about people who would gain from her disappearance. We’re sure it wasn’t Leo?”

I wave my hand on the way to bringing it up to scrub down my jaw. “Gio said the guys on the inside haven’t mentioned anything.”

“That doesn’t mean shit, Giovanni, and you know that.” He steps closer. “You need to put your personal feelings for the girl aside.”

“Personal feelings?” I laugh a little.

Justin steps even closer. “Giovanni, stop with the bullshit. We’ve all been watching the googly eyes you two have been making at each other since you brought her here.”

“Googly eyes?” My chest warms at the thought of Kelly reciprocating some of my affections.

“Isn’t she staying in your room?”

  I nod.

  “Have you fucked her?”

I push him back. “That’s out of line.”

“That answers my question,” he says with a chuckle.

I get up in his face. “Me fucking her has nothing to do with the fact that someone took her, from my own damn house, right out from underneath my nose.”

Justin plunges both hands into his hair and tugs. “Okay, this isn’t helping anything. We need to think. Piss anyone off lately?” He smirks.

I smirk back. “When do I not piss people off.”

  “Yeah, I figured.”

For the remainder of the night we go over and over anyone who could have a stake at seeing Kelly dead. All the while trying to find Henry.

It isn’t until the sun has passed that the landline rings.

I grab the phone. “Hello,” I say into the receiver.

  “We think we’ve got something.”

Oh, thank fuck. I hang up the phone and Justin and I rush down to the security room.

When we get there, the room mumbles with activity. I wish they’d all shut up so I can figure this all out. It was my job to protect Kelly, and right now I’m failing miserably.

“What do you have?” I ask one of the men bustling around.

“This unmarked van pulled right up to the side door by the kitchen, watch.”

He pulls up the video and my stomach goes sick as I watch her being taken against her will. They’re rough with her, but my girl is fighting back hard. I make a solemn vow to be so much worse when I find whoever it is that has her.

“That’s enough, turn it off.” I can’t watch anymore. “Any ideas? Get a plate number?”

  “Fakes.”

I figured as much. I turn to Justin. “What do you think?”

“Finding her is like looking for a needle in a haystack. But, we’re pretty sure Henry is behind it all.”

I steel my stare on him. “I agree. He knew exactly where she’d be. I brought her right to him. Asshole. No ideas on where he is?”

  Justin shakes his head.

“Let me know when Leo gets here and play back the tape with Leo on the screen.”

I don’t know what to believe. I trust Leo with my life. Our sources say that he has indeed been in Detroit. The camera quality in the kitchen is bad. It looks like Leo, but then it could be anyone standing with her.

But, who that is remains the mystery.

He plays the tape, and the whole room watches as we try to decipher who the man can be.

“I’ll start a list,” Justin says, grabbing his phone. “I’ll see what the word on the street is with some of our informants.”

“Fine, do that.” I leave the room, heading to mine, sick with the fact that we’re not one step closer to even finding her.

  Fuck, baby, where are you?

It’s been close to twenty-four hours since Kelly’s disappearance, and we are still no closer to finding her. My mood has gone from pissed to downright furious. I bark and shout at everyone in my path.

The only solace I’ve found in this mess is that we’ve determined that the person on the tape is not Leo.

I glance to the stars, before finally relenting. I need help. Big help to find my girl.

I laugh when the realization slams into me.

  She is my girl.

As much as I want to pretend that this is casual, as much as I try to fight it, I think she’s been my girl since I first laid eyes on her.

And I won’t let anyone stand in my way.

I’ll find her, if it’s the last thing I do or die trying.

  Chapter Twelve

  Kelly

My life keeps getting worse and worse. Taken by one man, only to be taken by another, but this man is by far scarier.

His eyes are the color of obsidian stone. His hair matches and hangs in his eyes. He appears to be in charge, but it’s almost like he’s waiting for someone else to arrive.

My guess is that it’s most likely my father.

When Giovanni kidnapped me and told me it was because my absentee father wanted to keep me safe, I knew that was ridiculous. Why on earth would a man I have never met give two shits about me?

My father has never cared about me. I remember eavesdropping on one of my mom’s phone conversations with a girlfriend. She said that she’d hidden in the shadows her whole life just not to fall onto my father’s radar. I didn’t think much about it at the time, but knowing what I know now, I see why she so fiercely protected me. My father sounds terrifying and not like someone I wish to ever meet anytime soon.

But it looks like all my mother’s nightmares are about to come true. God, I wish that Giovanni was here.

Should I even be thinking about that? About Giovanni’s arms wrapped around me?

About how he held me all night last night?

It was almost dawn when Giovanni finshed with me. Three orgasms later. My body spent. Making me believe him and I could have forever together.

  I laugh.<
br />
That’s an impossible request. A foolish wish. Him and I could never be together. I could never be subject to this lifestyle. Being a target? Being worried about being kidnapped every other day. This is not the life I would ever want.

And I don’t want the life for Giovanni either. I don’t want him to live this way, his life constantly in danger. Why on earth does he want it?

  It’s insanity.

  It’s abnormal.

It’s something I want no part of.

But then, I remember Giovanni’s eyes as they cast down on me as he slid his engorged dick inside me last night.

How it felt to move my body in sync with his. How I moaned and he groaned together all night.

  It was magical.

  It was epic.

It was something every woman wishes for.

And I was lucky enough to have it.

For one moment in time it was mine.

But now, it’s all over. I’ll never see Giovanni ever again. Because the man who stares at me with malice right now is not the same as the way Giovanni stared at me.

There’s no reasoning with this man.

  There’s no trying to escape.

“Let me go,” I attempt to speak to the human in him. “My mother is dying.”

“Shut up you whore. He’ll be here soon.”

I shiver against the wall, sitting only in the panties and shirt I was dressed in, in the kitchen. I can smell Giovanni all over me. He must know I’m gone by now.

  “Who?” I peep out.

The man stands from the little stool he was perched on top of. His large frame towers over me. His hair hangs low in his face, masking his eyes from me a little.

  “Your father,” he spits out.

  I should have known.

“Well good, cause I have words for that asshole,” I say. Sick of being the victim.

The man smirks, but then the smile fades just as fast as it appeared. He raises a hand like he’s going to hit me, but then lowers it after thinking about it for a beat too long.

“I’ll tell him you said that.”

Now knowing he won’t hit me, I guess it makes me a little braver.
