Cerussa – White makeup.
Chilyabium (or chilyabe) - Chilyabium is a latinuum word literally meaning "traveling device". In Alhar it means devices that "fold air and time". It is a machine that was used to travel very long distances in short periods of time. A time-traveling machine. The most sophisticated ones could take a traveler to different time periods in history. They are the great expressions of Golden Alchemical knowledge, meant to mimic the divinely-given skills of ancient thaumaturgists: "The men who fold time and air". Of those there are none who exist anymore in the Dark Age, save one.
Dakhmin – Changed Men; people physically and biologically changed, damaged or "enhanced" through cruel alchemical experiments.
Dak Ellak – A curse, meaning: “A damnable place”.
Dak Rullak – A curse, literally meaning a damnable thing or person.
Day of Glorious Fires – Important celebration of Hec or the sun, when it is highest in the sky. Takes place over seven days. Starts near the end of spring in some years and at the first day of summer on other years.
Drekar - Dragon-headed longships (Valierite ships).
Druta - A drug used in Black Alchemy for sadistic experiments. One is incapacitated while the nerve endings are made more sensitive.
Dolong Cow - Long-horned cows native to Egi. Not very smart, even as cows go. Also used as an insult toward someone thought of as stupid.
Dunbaigh - A word in the archaic form of Dyrlandish spoken now only by the Ohdrufrid and Wodrufrid, meaning: "dog".
Duuna! Duuna-dhol! Duuna Jhis! - A call to war, of destruction, a battle cry. Literally: Destroy! Destroy it all! Destroy Jhis!
E
Ellah Kaifah – Amen. Literally meaning: “May the Heavens bless.”
Epolei – General name for any city dweller among the tribes people. Sometimes used in a derogatory fashion to refer to city people. A foreign word.
Erdu-horn – War horn; a device used to project the voice, usually used to frighten enemies.
Eunuch – A royal official. Not all eunuchs are castrated; This was true in the case of Parso. Parso was not a castrated eunuch.

Gasperat – The time when the moons are highest in the sky and when the “dead sun” or what we know now as the planet Jupiter passes in view of the night sky of Chialis (Mars) by the naked eye. This event is always at the height or middle of summer or called High Summer. It is also a holy day dedicated to the moon goddesses of Egi.
Goah – Manhood or penis. It can also mean the kidneys or bowels, depending on how the word is used.
Great Migration – When the tribes at the Beginning were created by God in the center of the world (near what was later Hybron) and scattered throughout the earth.
Gudzhinza – A curse word. Example: "Damn it!" (in Ulu.)
Guynan's Sleep - A toxin from the gori fish that is used to put people in a death-like state.

Hadana – An ancient board game, equivalent to Mancala, Warri or Adi.
High Magistrus (High Magistrate) - Highest elected official over Pallinona. Rules from the most powerful governing town on Pallinona. Is elected by a body of magistrates from the other towns.
High Night - Midnight.
Hikra – Hypocrite.
Hool! – A religious call; a fervent or passionate exclamation of joy; elation. Usually used in a chant: Hool! Hool! Hool!
Ilca - Dyrlandish word literally meaning: "ilk".

Jaga - Idiot or jackass. (Egian).
Jia (jia-dream) - Among those that worship the sun god Hec and his consorts or brother-gods, it is a special vision or prophetic dream.
Juhi – Literally meaning: “Mercy!”
Jusawa - An Egian code word used among Egian slaves that means "freedom". It can also be the cry to take up a holy war, like a crusade or a jihad or a cry of rebellion. Its literal meaning is: freedom or liberation.
Khuliom – A prayer of power and strength. It imparts power to the weak, courage to the fearful and strength and solace to the despairing one. Only anointed holy prophets can use it to call on the direct power of Airend-Ur.
Kingberry - A bush of red berries and dark green foliage that grows in forested, cool climates. Found throughout the Great Ridge Lands. It is viewed as sacred by southern Dyrlanders. The berries are used for healing methods and dye as well. The berries are sour and are sometimes used to aid digestion.
Kushigyar – Head ruling nobleman or head official of a city-state. Originally a Rurrian form of government.
Kushimen – Senate usually of nobles and priests ruling under the Kushigyar.

Lapirim – Aged, dried organ meats spread with fat and spices.
Lava Lizard - A huge, man-eating lizard. Used to be plentiful during the Age of Empires and before. Mostly lived around active volcanoes or desert haunts.
Leviathan - Crocodile.
Library of All Schools (or All Schools Library) - The most important and largest library in Hybron, located in Rhuctium, the Hybronian center for learning and education.
Luma – Exotic fruit with sapphire blue flesh and orange seeds. Very sweet, floral and tangy at the same time. Flowers from the Luma plant glow at night and can be used in other foods or herbal preparations. Often used in desserts.
Luti – Epithet used to describe tribal people. Literally meaning: savage. Not originally an Alharan word.
M - P
Mamoul (or ma'amoul) - A shortbread pasty filled with either nuts or fruit. Usually these are eaten on special occasions, such as religious celebrations.
Mannimalomancy - An offshoot of manismechanillurgy with magical overtones, it is purely an evil discipline where in the experiment the person or animal is incapacitated or killed and then the corpse is to be used or animated through magic by the will of the alchemist. Only black alchemists use this discipline.
Mannismechanallurgy – Peformed by Black Guild alchemists and sometimes by White Alchemists, it has come to be associated more with Black Alchemy, the black form of it characterizing inhumane and cruel experiments on humans. In Black Alchemy, Man is seen purely as a machine to be worked upon, changed and formed under the absolute will and desire of the alchemist. In White Alchemy it is seen as a way to study through observation and experimentation the dead human body and heal what is malformed and broken in the living. For both, it is a way to operate and experiment and understand the workings of the complex human body.
Mechanalogue - An ancient type of cyborg.
Meze - A dish of vegetables.
Monteferi - A Latinuum word for "changed men".
Nanasi – Ulu name for nuts.
Negroni (Latinuum) - Black Alchemist-hired thugs in Pallinona.
Neru – A serum that greatly increases life or age.
Nookal – Kohlrabi, or turnips.
Odissi - An ancient classical dance form popular in the Far Eastern land of Hidush.
Pufok – A traditional dish of ground, raw, aged meat with vegetable and raw egg, usually horse or camel.
Pyrru or Pyrrh – Actually the Pyrrhuloxia, a desert songbird. Native to Hybron and Egi.
Q, R, S
Qutanese Dulal - Toy dogs bred in Qutan, usually for the king's household. They are small, usually black or dark gray, have short hair and they are characterized by extremely wrinkled faces. They are known as "court dogs" because only royalty and nobility are allowed to own them. Considered to bring good luck to the household.
Reshaim – Word for the Red Kings, their kin and issue.
Rhytons – Conical drinking vessels, a descendent of the drinking horn. Mostly from the Bronze Age.
Devil fish - Fish that like to eat human flesh. They glow beautiful colors under the water and thrive in dark waters of underground rivers and water sources. They can lure men into the water where they then kill and eat them.
Sanguina �
� Powdered pig's or goat's blood, or any animal blood, combined with crushed and powdered peppers. Used as seasoning in northern Galieh.
Sea Fire - An alchemically created fire used in Pallinona and Jura. Also called secret fire for no one knows how it was made except the alchemists in Pallinona who created it. Later alchemists even do not remember but there are rumors that some Black Alchemists do remember and know how to recreate it.
Shadrua - A small yellow song bird native to the Dyrland forests.
Shinty (Alharan) - Bad quality, poorly made. Junk.
Stel (steel) - Steel is a new metal, nearly seemingly magical to the Red World. An alloy of iron. First discovered in the land of Hidush, in the East.
Strynoya - A hard liquor made from molasses or sugarcane, wild yeasts and iron shavings. Native drink of Rurria.
Su – Honorific denoting divine authority or status or one who is descended from the gods.
T
Tableaux vivants (plural) - A living picture. (singular: tableau vivant, or tableau)
Tangna - A liquor made from fermented mangoes and scorpion venom.
Tarshu - A venom used to incapacitate victims. Turns organs to black ash if too much is used. It is bold and unsubtle in its effects.
Teraphim - Household gods or "little gods". Carved wooden idols, sometimes made of stone but usually of wood or cloth, they are often used by tribal people as deeds or titles in large and important business transactions between individuals, families or between tribal groups. They are also used as safe harbor messages to other tribes, given to trusted friends or honorary tribal members to communicate that such persons carrying them are trusted and protected by the tribe.
Tinmak - Literally meaning "tiny messenger." A tinmak is a mechanical messenger, sometimes referred to as a travelobe, used before the Dark Age in the Middle World to send messages and later in more decadent times, to assassinate one's enemies. They were made from a variety of metals and other materials. The earliest ones were made out of tin, therefore, tinmak. During the Dark Age most mechanical devices were outlawed in Hybron and live animals such as falcons and cats took their place but a few people still in possession of them used them.
Toocha – Filth or excrement, especially from a pig.
Truska Melon – A melon/fruit variety native to Hybron. It is extremely sweet with the taste slightly of cinnamon and cactus. It comes in several varieties: black, the sweetest, white (cultivated underground) and purple.
Tsire - A spice mix from ground herbs and ground nuts from Funda, used for covering meat before grilling.
V-Z
Valierite – The peoples of the Great Ridge Lands.
Valley of the Royal Tombs – The royal burial site in Egi for kings and queens, princes and princesses.
Yamma – A greeting in Jura in the language, Ulu, meaning: Hello.
Yaryebu – Mammoth, Literally, god-elephant. Ulu language.
Yebu - Ulu word for elephant.
Yurta – Yurt or kherga. Tent-like dwelling.
