“I can’t go slow, baby.” Ryder was hanging on by a thread. He needed to claim her, make London his forever. The fear he felt was making him hurry. Her body was hot to the touch as he moved his palm up her legs. He could see the moisture glistening on her lips as he spread her legs apart. Leaning forward he inhaled her sweet scent. “This is mine. Say it, London!” Ryder’s voice was stern as he waited for London to respond.
“Yours. All yours.” London moaned when his mouth licked her up and down. He couldn’t get enough of her as he continued to lick and suck her harder.
* * * *
London’s head fell back on the mattress. She had never heard the sounds coming out of her mouth before. Ryder was everything she wanted in a man. Yeah, he was gorgeous but he had something other men didn’t. She never thought she would be attracted to someone quite so animalistic. Every time he looked at her she felt like prey. Even the first time they met as she lay on the bathroom floor. She could see the wolf in his eyes.
He was also aggravating and demanding. All these traits bundled up into one man. This was her mate. No one could ever compare to him or ever touch what she felt for him. Ryder belonged to her now and she would kill anyone who tried to take him away. It didn’t hurt that her desire for him was killing her as he relentlessly teased her little bud. The orgasm raced through her body so fast she didn’t have time to cover her mouth when she screamed out. She had only a few one night stands to compare it to, but Ryder made her see stars and shiver until she felt it from her head to her toes. Mindboggling was all she could say. Nobody could compare because he was the one she had dreamed about and waited for.
Zoey and Jamie had to have heard her with their wolf ears, but she would be embarrassed tomorrow. She was on a role, after all Ryder’s guards heard them last night. Right now, she wanted it hard and fast.
Suddenly, he was on top of her, his weight pushed her further into the mattress as he moved in closer, and kissed her. When he lifted his head, and broke the kiss, she could taste herself on her lips.
“That will never get old, my love.” His voice was husky as he pressed his forehead against hers. She could see the struggle for control in his expression, his eyes were wild. His breathing was ragged as he swiftly leaned up and flipped her over onto her stomach. Pushing her knees up toward her stomach he plunged inside of her, making her cry out as her body adjusted to the size of him. He began to move, and she demanded more.
“Oh Ryder…” she gasped as his strokes became harder.
“I know what you need, baby,” Ryder grunted.
Reaching around, he stroked her clit as he pounded harder into her. The sensations grew stronger, and they kept building. She loved every minute of his roughness. His thrusts continued to hit that special spot making her grip the sheets harder. Holding on tight, she felt every never in her body tingle, when her body burst into the longest release she ever had. The thought of someone hearing her wasn’t a care anymore when she screamed out his name.
Ryder thrust deeper into her, grabbing her hair and jerking her head back so he could bite into the side of her neck. London shuddered at his roughness when he surged forward hitting that sweet spot allowing the orgasm find it sweet release. Ryder didn’t waste any time when she felt his fangs push through her skin claiming her body.
Their breathing was loud as they both tried to take in deep breaths. London was about to say something when her body started to shake. Ryder moved off her, pulling her into his lap as pain gripped her body. The pain whirled its way through her and her muscles tightened. She remembered having leg cramps when she was younger as her body grew, but this was a hundred times worse. Moaning she tried to speak, but her voice disintegrated as another spasm pushed forward. All she could do now was endure the pain.
Whispering in her ear soothingly, Ryder explained what was occurring to her body. “It’s my DNA bonding with yours. I knew it would cause you discomfort, but I didn’t realize it would hurt you this much. I’m sorry baby. Can I do anything?”
London’s teeth chattered as pain rushed down to her legs. She didn’t understand all of what he was saying, but slowly, the pain was lessened. She sucked in a deep breath as her body trembled allowing her to relax and unfold.
“DNA? What are you talking about?” London sputtered between breaths.
“When we mate and I bite you, our DNA will bond. It allows you to live as long as me,” Ryder softly explained. He held her in his arms stroking her hair. Leaning forward, he placed soft kisses on her face. “I’m sorry. I should have explained it to you.”
Ryder got up and laid London back onto the bed. Her legs felt like jelly, but they weren’t cramping anymore. She could see his concern as he climbed into bed beside her, pulling the blanket over them both. Her eyes were just starting to close when she was jerked awake by a beeping sound. Rising up, she watched Ryder run toward the door.
“What is it?” London tried to whisper, but his actions scared her.
“I don’t know. Do you have an alarm set on your computer?” Ryder asked as he opened his bedroom door.
“No, I don’t but Zoey’s computer is in there too, and she may have set one.” London got up and pulled her pants and her shirt on then walked into the kitchen behind Ryder.
Sure enough, an alarm was beeping on Zoey’s computer. London wasn’t sure what kind of alarm it was, but Zoey appeared, her eyes big as saucers as she asked, “Do you see someone?”
“Slow down, Zo,” Ryder chuckled, and London smiled at his use of her pet name for his little sister.
“Did you see someone?” Zoey asked again. Her face was ashen as she stroked over the computer keys and the screen lit up. London leaned down and couldn’t believe what she saw. Two people were walking in the woods, and both heads were glowing on top.
“Zoey, how did you do that? Where did you get the cameras?” London babbled as she grabbed a chair to watch. Ryder leaned in closer to look at the screen.
“Where are those cameras at?” They both looked up at his harsh tone, taking in his unyielding expression. London could see that he was definitely in Alpha mode. For a moment, she hoped the two people got away until she remembered the way Kenny’s body was mutilated.
Glancing back at her screen, Zoey spat out, “Forest, north camera.”
Jamie entered the room still rubbing his eyes as Ryder snapped at him. “Let’s go, two at Forrest north.”
“It worked?” Jamie looked stunned.
“Yep. Go get’em.” Zoey said, smiling ear to ear. Jamie grimaced as he took off behind his Alpha. “Here take this!”
“Jamie came back and grabbed a small black looking ball out of Zoey’s hand, thrusting it in his ear before running out the door.
“What was that?” London asked intrigued at Zoey’s new gadgets.
“Listening device. Jamie and I tried it out last night while you and my brother were…you know.” London’s face turned red but Zoey laughed. She pulled out a blue tooth and attached it to her ear.
“Okay, let’s see if we can catch a wolf. Jamie they are headed north toward London’s cabin. One of our wolves is at her cabin waiting inside.”
“Zoey, I’m shocked. When did you get this stuff?”
“I ordered it the same time I got the dust. It came in later that day, but I had it delivered here. I wanted Jamie to see it first since he has a lot of experience with this type of equipment. He has lots of training from his Seals days. After you two went to bed, Jamie and I put two up then went to bed. To be honest, I didn’t think they would try anything tonight. Guess I was wrong.”
London and Zoey watched and waited for the two men to make their way down to London’s cabin. It was obvious at where they were going. Out to the side, they could see two wolves hiding. Zoey pointed at them. “That’s Ryder and Jamie. Michael is inside your cabin waiting. Jamie put everyone on alert after you punched Jim Sanders in the nose. It was a great shot by the way. We knew the Alpha in him wouldn’t let that pass. His pride was getting the
best of him. Plus, you are a human and a woman. I wouldn’t doubt if one of the wolves creeping in was him.”
London didn’t say anything. She prayed that nobody got hurt because of her anger. “Look.” She pointed to the left of the screen as ten more wolves eased up behind Ryder and Jamie.
“Looks like the cavalry just showed up,” Zoey muttered.
London couldn’t stand it as she watched the two wolves get closer to her cabin. “Jamie, they are almost there,” Zoey whispered.
They both watched as the two wolves stepped up onto the porch, and Ryder and Jamie ran up behind them, and the fight was on.
Jumping out of the chair, London yelled, “Let’s go.”
Zoey grabbed her keys off the table as Donnie came walking into the room before they could run out. “What is all the noise about?”
“Lock the front door when we leave,” Zoey spat out.
“Where are y’all going?” Donnie ran out the door behind them and jumped in the backseat, just before Zoey drove down the road as fast as the car could go. The tension was high as they drove to London’s cabin. Zoey was driving like a racecar driver. Her body was hunched over with both hands on the wheel. It would have been funny at some other time, but now wasn’t the time. They needed to get to Ryder and Jamie fast. Wolves were everywhere when they pulled up at her cabin.
“Holly shit, what the hell is going on?” Donnie sputtered as they got out of the car. London didn’t waste any time when she ran up to the circle of Malone wolves. One of the wolves was dead inside the circle, and the other two were battling it out on their hind legs. London shuddered at the sound of razor sharp teeth ripping into flesh.
Immediately, London knew it was Ryder’s wolf fighting Jim Sanders. Dark magic oozed from the man, and she wanted to help, but resisted. This was Ryder’s fight.
The wolves broke the circle allowing her to get closer so she could see. Her eyes immediately gazed at her mate. Ryder was the biggest wolf she had ever seen. Bigger than any wolf, she had watched in the zoo or on the Discovery Channel. His fur was dark as night, but his feet were white as snow. Ryder’s wolf was beautiful just like the man she fell in love with.
Jim Sanders was big too, but Ryder’s wolf was bigger. His fur was dark brown and matted together as if he had rabies. His wolf looked sickly as he struggled to fight Ryder. She could see the dark magic surrounding him. It moved around his body like a snake pushing his body to fight harder. The growls and clashing of teeth grew louder as the two Alphas fought to the death.
Ryder was stronger as he sprang toward Jim Sander’s wolf knocking him down to the ground, but before her could get his teeth wrapped around Sander’s neck, Jim seemed to spot London.
When Sanders focused on London, the fortuitous growl penetrated the cool night air startling her backwards. London held her hand up to stop the wolf as he charged her. Before Sanders could reach London, Ryder leapt forward knocking him to the ground. Ryder’s powerful jaws grabbed hold of Sander’s throat ripping it out. Jim Sanders lie on the ground dying as the Malone Pack watched.
Slowly, Ryder walked toward London transforming into his human form. They stood staring at each other for a few minutes. Her hand reached out and caressed his face. His body was drenched in sweat and blood. She was his mate, and holding him close was all she could think about. Blood dripped off him as London hugged him closer. Two dead wolves lie lifeless on the ground as the smell of death permeated the air.
“I was scared.” Her voice shook as she whispered in his ear.
“I told you to stay in the house.” A few seconds passed before he spoke. “Are you ever going to do what I say?”
“Probably not,” London said, laughing. She could feel Ryder smiling as she hugged him closer. “Was that Jim Sanders?”
“Yes and the other wolf was his second. Metilda Blackwood will be pissed now. Her mate is dead and she’ll want retribution. She’s going to be coming for us. You’re my mate now London and your safety is my responsibility now. Please, listen to me when I tell you to stay put.” She could feel Ryder’s control slip as he held her tighter.
“Okay.” That was all she could say. He needed that right now, but London knew that Metilda Blackwood wouldn’t hide. She would come straight out and try to kill her, and she would bring her friends. London knew that another witch had to be helping her test the wards. Nobody could get across town that fast.
How could she explain to Ryder her gut feelings she had that Metilda was coming for her? Was it the Tree of Life she was after? Me-Len told her that it would protect her and provide instincts that would allow her to act quickly. Now her instincts were telling her that she needed to get a crash course from Me-Len on how to fight with her magic. She had studied the books her grandmother had sent her to New York but everything was happening so quickly here in Alpha City that she hadn’t had time to train with Me-Len. She needed Me-Len to help her. London reached up and grabbed the Tree of Life pendant. It was warm in her hand as she rubbed the stone between her fingers.
A voice startled London as she stared at the two dead wolves. “Can we leave now? I’ve seen wolves fight and more naked men than at the nude beach I went to. I really need some sleep before I embarrass myself with some of these fine specimens and start taking pictures for my scrap book.” Donnie continued to stare at the wolves who had transformed back into humans.
London and Ryder couldn’t stop laughing as they listened to Donnie. “Come on you crazy man I will take you back to the house.” Zoey pushed him toward the car.
“I will take London back.” Ryder advised.
“Okay. See you in a few.” Zoey responded as Donnie got into her car and drove away. London watched as the wolves built a bon fire. Two of the men looked over at Ryder waiting for his order. Ryder continued to hold her hand as he watched the fire grow higher.
“Throw them in the fire.” London turned around not wanting to see the wolves’ burn to death.
“What happens now?” London asked.
“We go home and I take a bath and make love to my mate. Then we make a plan.” An SUV pulled up with Jamie driving. He got out of the vehicle leaving the driver’s door open.
“Take your mate home, Alpha. I will take care of the cleanup. Tomorrow, we celebrate our new Alpha mate to the pack.” Jamie smiled at London then walked off.
Chapter 31
London could smell bacon cooking in the kitchen. She loved bacon and listening to her stomach growl made her feel hungrier. Rolling over to look at the clock, she was surprised to see that it was one in the afternoon. Damn, she had slept longer than she wanted. Ryder’s side of the bed was cold. He had probably been up for hours, and yet he’d allowed her to sleep. The honeymoon stage had started with a bang. London got up and took a quick shower. She needed to check her computers and figure out something that would help them catch Metilda.
Making her way toward the kitchen, London could hear people talking. She really didn’t want to see a lot of people, but this was her life now and she needed to get used to it. It would be her job as the Alpha’s mate. London strained to hear what everyone was talking about.
“We know you’re standing in the hallway listening. Come join us, London.” Jamie had just ratted her out, so she pushed away from the wall making her way into the kitchen.
There were about fifteen people standing around eating and drinking. Nolan and the other Alpha’s stared at her as she walked in, until Nolan made the first move.
“I knew if I pushed you two hard enough you would come to your senses,” he said with a satisfied smirk.
Ryder pushed him out of the way playfully, and grabbed her hugging her close to his body. The others all watched and smiled at the protective gesture. He didn’t seem to want Nolan or anyone for that matter to touch his mate.
“You pushed us together? Why would you do that? I thought you liked me, Nolan?” she teased.
“We all knew that you were Ryder’s mate, but we needed for both of you to see it too. I happily v
olunteered to be the one to make my man here jealous. I have to say I’m glad it worked. I’m thinking about opening up a dating service now. I seem to have a gift.” Nolan pulled her toward him and hugged her. “I’m very happy for you and meat-head.”
Smiling at his sweet-ish words, she knew from the beginning that she wasn’t attracted to him, but he had become a good friend. Everything had changed so quickly. She knew the moment she saw Ryder that he was the one, and her thoughts were always on him even when she moved hundreds of miles away. Apparently, he felt the same.
“Now we are really going to be sisters. I’m so happy.” Zoey squealed.
Donnie pushed Zoey out of the way. Grabbing London and hugging her, he started crying too. “I’m so happy for you, baby girl. Remember no matter who you marry—” Donnie cleared his throat, “Or mate. I’m still your brother.”
London gasped. She had forgotten about getting drunk with Donnie in New York. They had started talking about not having any brothers or sisters and how lonely it was growing up so Donnie ran in the kitchen and got a knife and cut his finger and told her to do the same. They rubbed their fingers together mixing the blood forever claiming themselves blood brother and sister.
“Yes we are. You will always be my brother.” London hugged Donnie and glanced over at Zoey and Ryder who were smiling back at her.
She finally felt like she belonged somewhere. Her dreams were filled, having a good looking, sweet, and understanding husband, and a house filled with kids. The kids would have to wait for a while, but she would take the husband. Two out of the three dreams would do for now. She would also have to work on the sweet husband part. Alphas simply didn’t do sweet.
“I don’t care what he thinks, I’m hugging you too.” Brody King pushed Ryder aside, picking London up, and twirling her around in a circle. “Welcome to the crew, London. You are the prettiest Alpha I have ever seen and I can’t wait for you to bust his balls.”
