by Theodora Lau
Boar + Dragon
In this fairly successful relationship, the gains will probably outweigh the losses. Both signs are ardent and forceful, although in different ways. The powerful Dragon could stimulate any partner into action or break them in the process. The Boar is not averse to bending to the desires of a worthy partner. They are evenly matched in energy and love of physical exertion. Their mutual flaw is that they are both too responsive to stimuli and could be easily carried away by their enthusiasm and excesses. With this intensely romantic couple, there may be no one to apply the brakes!
Boar + Snake
Both animals will lack appreciation of each other’s positive traits. The Snake possesses unfailing determination and willpower. The Boar is easygoing and community-spirited. The Snake feels the Boar will not be able to understand the Snake’s stresses because of the Boar’s indulgent and compromising attitude toward others. The Snake is mystical, sophisticated, and deep. At times, the Boar is simple, trusting, and naive. The Snake finds the Boar’s scruples unappealing and has no use for the Boar’s goodwill unless there is a calculated motive behind it. The Boar is incapable of deciphering the Snake’s complex and doubting mind. The Snake can be aloof and does not care for the Boar’s sweetness and sincerity, and the Boar’s feelings will inevitably be bruised. Their diametrically opposed personalities cannot provide either with much happiness.
Boar + Horse
The Horse is persuasive, magnetic, and appealing, and he or she will be able to convince the compromising and good-natured Boar to accede to his or her wishes. The Boar is kindhearted; being sociably inclined, the Boar enjoys activities with the athletic Horse. These two animals are both pleasure seekers, and with this comes its own challenges for a long-term relationship. The Horse is imaginative and resourceful, and the Boar is dependable and good-natured. The Boar admires the Horse’s animated and cheerful ways. Because both understand the value of compromise, they will have an active and involved relationship without stepping on each other’s toes. They will, however, opt to live their lives to the fullest. Unfortunately, this usually means neither party will worry too much about tomorrow. But it may not be finances that present the biggest problems for the couple. Being a devoted soul, the Boar craves more togetherness and affection than the self-centered Horse can often provide. The Horse, on the other hand, is not amused when the Boar is too conforming and so considerate that he or she pleases everyone else besides the Horse. Each may have some difficulty coming to terms with the other’s weaknesses and making the compromises needed to steady the ship.
Boar + Sheep
In this warm, intimate relationship, both will give their best to the union and have a deep love and genuine concern for the other. The Boar is sturdy and thoughtful enough to please the gentle and compassionate Sheep. The Sheep, on the other hand, will gladly spoil the Boar. Fortunately, the sensual and simple Boar will see the Sheep’s possessiveness as true love and devotion. The Boar is generous and protective too, so the Sheep will be able to perform at his or her best, something Sheep can do only when they know they are loved and appreciated, as the Sheep will definitely be in this union. Neither animal minds making concessions and both prefer activities centered around the home. Theirs is a home which will be lively, where friends will naturally congregate.
Boar + Monkey
There may be a strong attraction in this combination, but the trials of everyday life could wear it away. The Boar is prodding, energetic, and staunchly devoted to his or her friends and goals, but the Boar often operates on blind faith, and in this case the Monkey cannot resist the urge to take advantage. The Boar, on the other hand, benefits from the Monkey’s financial acumen and guile but is not impressed by the unscrupulous and opportunistic methods the Monkey uses to get ahead. The Boar is too straightforward and scrupulous for the complicated Monkey. The Monkey has more pungent tastes, and the Boar will definitely be too bland. On the other hand, while the Monkey is deviously charming, the Monkey’s complexity and pretentiousness may prove too much. The Monkey finds the Boar too conscientious about spreading goodwill around. As a result, the Monkey could come to resent the Boar’s extravagant generosity as being distributed at the Monkey’s expense. Both are bound to be irritated and bruised by the incapacities of the other. Still, they could make a go of this match if they can figure each other out and concentrate on their positive qualities.
Boar + Rooster
If both parties make the proper concessions, this could turn out to be a feasible match. There will be areas of disagreement, but both have the capacity to work out differences if they admire the other enough. The Boar is prone to naiveté and easily imposed on by others, and the Boar therefore may have need of the Rooster’s sharp faculties. Nevertheless, the Boar may be too passionate and warm for the analytical and mentally inclined Rooster; the Rooster is too argumentative and knowledgeable to follow or love blindly. However, on the positive side, neither is too thin-skinned, and criticism will affect them like water running off a duck’s back. The honest and accommodating Boar has a true need for the Rooster’s diligent and critical mind. Although the Rooster is capable and self-confident, the Rooster will need the affable Boar’s diplomacy and reliability. This is a partnership where if each person sees the strength of the other, the two could learn and benefit a great deal.
Boar + Dog
These two will enjoy a kind and agreeable relationship despite their differing attitudes toward life. Both are robust, open, and honest, and they like doing their best whenever possible. However, the Dog can be aggressive and will not withhold criticism if the Boar is too self-indulgent or lax in his or her duties. The Dog is less outwardly passionate than the Boar and may lack understanding of the party animal’s large appetites and sensuality. Still, they may be able to find a common ground for cooperation. The Dog has more insight than the Boar and will always be loyal. And the Boar is tolerant and generous enough to forgive the Dog’s peculiarities. These two are not averse to mutual concessions and will share whatever they have with each other. Their partnership will be happy because neither will need to harp on the other’s weaknesses.
Boar + Boar
This combination could work out well if the partners are able to take the good with the bad. Being born under the sign of the Boar, both of them will be strong, courageous, and modest, but they may lack direction and tenacity and may not be able to shore up each other’s weak points. Sincerity and goodwill without resolute and systematic organization could wreak havoc for two such well-meaning people. One of them will have to be unemotional and disciplined to cope with reality as well as adversity; otherwise their mutual love and loyalty will not be much protection for life’s biggest challenges.
