“Well, lucky for you, I’m an excellent teacher.”
Girls yelled for his attention. When Maddox didn’t turn to grace them with his rock star smile, they turned their attention on me, screaming that I wasn’t good enough, that I was ugly. One woman even shouted how she’d go down on him if he’d trade me for her… like I was a cow at auction or something.
We went through the same door Sebastian had carried my sister through, and I discovered I’d been wrong. They weren’t dressing rooms. Well, unless the standard backstage dressing rooms was three times bigger than my bedroom at my dad’s house, with plush furniture, a fully-stocked bar, and more people that lived in my entire subdivision crammed into it.
Stepping through that door was like stepping into a totally different world. It was like Hedonism on crack. The rest of the band members had filtered into the room behind us with their nightly picks in tow. Not only that, but dozens of other men and women I’d never laid eyes on seemed to fill every square inch.
The party happening around me was the very definition of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. All three of those seemed to be happening at once.
The sight of people making out and women grinding on each other as they danced on every available surface made me uncomfortable enough, but when I saw what looked like a foursome happening in a back corner I knew I had to get out of there.
“I’m sorry.” I jerked on my hand. “I can’t do this.”
I turned to bolt out of the room when a familiar voice screamed my name. “Reagan!” I spun around at the sound of my sister’s voice. “Sissy, ohmygod! Isn’t this crazy?” She had that right. “This is incredible!” She lifted the tequila bottle in her hand skyward and let out a loud whoop. “This is the best night of my life!”
I disengaged from Maddox’s hold and moved in her direction. “Keagan, come on. It’s time to go.”
“Whoa there, sugar tits, she’s not going anywhere. She’s having fun,” Sebastian stated, before hooking an arm around my sister’s shoulders and pulling her against him as he asked her, “Aren’t you, sweets?”
Keagan gave him a look that promised things to come that I didn’t want to know anything about. “Gimme a sec, handsome. I’ll be right back.” Her fingers on my arm clenched to the point of pain as she dragged me away, somehow managing to find the only solitary spot in the room. “What the hell are you doing?” she hissed.
“Ow.” I winced and tugged at my arm. “Babe, you’re about to draw blood.”
Her nails disengaged and she dropped her hand.
“Thank you.” I frowned and rubbed my poor, abused skin. “Can we go now, please?”
“Are you crazy? No! We’re not leaving. Reag, we’re partying with famous rock stars! Do you know how often that happens in a girl’s life? Like, never! This is a once in a lifetime moment, here. I’m not letting you walk out of here without at least shoving your tongue down that sexy, muscled, tattooed singer, got it?” she snapped.
My skin got tight and itchy. The already cramped room grew even smaller. “I can’t do that,” I whisper-yelled. “You know that’s not me.”
“You’re right, it’s not.” She rubbed my arms in a soothing manner. “Because you’ve spent your whole life taking care of everyone else, you don’t do anything for yourself.” She wasn’t giving in, not this time. I could see it in her eyes. It was one of the many pains of having a twin, being able to read everything from facial expressions to body language to minds. “I can see it written all over you, sissy. You don’t want to leave! You want to do something totally out of character. And I refuse to let you leave until you do!”
I rolled my eyes, a total act to cover up the fact that she was spot on. For the first time in my life, I didn’t want to do the smart thing. I didn’t want to be the sister who kept everyone else in line. I wanted to live.
The only problem was, I didn’t know how to go about doing that.
Chapter Three
Thanks to our weird twin juju Keagan could sense the war that was waging inside of me.
She lifted a bottle off the bar, uncapped it, and poured a shot. “Here.” She thrust the shot glass into my hands. “Drink this.”
“What is it?”
She twisted the bottle around so we could see the label. “Tequila. Now drink.”
“I hate tequila,” I whined in an effort to delay.
Reaching out, she pinched the underside of my upper arm. That had been her go-to method of making me cooperate for as long as I could remember.
“Stop your bitching and drink.”
I downed the shot, the tequila leaving heat in its wake as it trickled down my throat. I gasped and scrunched up my face in disgust. “Gah! There. Happy now?”
She’d already poured another, thrusting it in my direction. “Again.”
To save my arm from more abuse I quickly complied. It didn’t take long for those two shots to mingle with the vodka I’d had earlier in my otherwise empty belly. I was a lightweight on a good day, so I was feeling nice and floaty in no time at all.
“There you are.”
I spun around at the sound of Maddox’s masculine voice, causing my head to spin. I let out a little giggle, holding my arms out to gain my balance. “Whoa.”
His hands shot out and rested on my hips, causing a shiver that started from my head and ended at my toes. “You good?”
“She’s great,” Keagan chirped happily. “Nothing a little liquid courage couldn’t take care of.” Then, just like that, she disappeared, leaving me to wade through unfamiliar waters all on my own.
“Liquid courage, huh?”
The smile in his voice drew my attention to his face. It was like staring into the sun. It should be illegal for eyes to be so flawlessly blue.
“You could be a model, you know that?” I blurted, the alcohol hitting my system just enough to lower my inhibitions and cause me to say the first thing that popped into my head.
I had to clench my thighs against what his deep, throaty laughter was doing to my body. I’d never been so aroused by just the sound of a chuckle before. “Modeling’s not really my thing, Green Eyes. Although, I’ve done a couple spreads in the past.”
“I bet.” I scanned him from his boots to his dark, messy hair. “I’d pay serious bucks for a life-sized cardboard cutout of you to put in my room.”
He stepped so close I could smell the hint of mint and beer on his breath. Had I been sober, or had it been anyone else, the smell probably would have turned my stomach. But I was drunk, and it was him so… sigh. “Babe, I can do so much better for you than a cardboard cutout.”
My brain thought up things I would never dream of saying out loud, such as, God I want to bang this guy stupid!
All my sexual experiences in my past had been like everything else in my life, carefully thought out and planned. And… boring. So incredibly, mind-numbingly boring. As embarrassing as it was to admit, I hadn’t had an orgasm by anyone other than myself in all my twenty-three years.
But something told me that this guy could rock my world in a matter of minutes. Hell, maybe even seconds.
I’d never been a one-night stand kind of girl before, but that was Keagan’s entire point, right? To step outside of the dull, colorless box I’d lived in my entire life. And the voice in the back of my head was screaming at me that Maddox Sheppard was just the guy to help me with that.
“Oh yeah? And how do you plan on doing that?” I couldn’t believe the voice I’d just heard was my own. It sounded flirty and… suggestive. I hadn’t realized I could even sound like that.
He took another step, coming so close there was barely enough room for light to shine between us. “I’m more into showing than telling,” he whispered into my ear. Then his tongue snaked out, pulling my lobe between his teeth for him to nip.
Sparks shot from my core at the sensation, drenching my panties as I let out a moan and fell against his solid body. Before I could process what was happening, his arm was around my waist and he was l
eading me through another doorway. The light flicked on, illuminating the space filled with nothing more than a squishy-looking couch and a couple chairs.
The door clicked shut, closing out the loud noise from the party happening just on the other side. In a blink, I was pressed up against the cold metal. Maddox’s lips landed on my neck, placing biting, sucking kisses along the sensitive skin.
“Wh-what are we doing?” I panted, even as I tipped my head to the side to give his mouth better access.
“Proving that the real thing is so much better than a cardboard cutout,” he grunted against my skin, pulling the neckline of my shirt down with his teeth. I whimpered as he licked his way from between my breasts to my collarbone, my body screaming for more.
“I—I’ve never done this before,” I said on a sigh, as my head fell back and my eyes drifted closed. I wasn’t sure why I was talking, but I couldn’t seem to get my mouth to shut the hell up. “I don’t know you,” I continued to ramble. “I shouldn’t be here, but…”
He pulled away long enough to whip my shirt over my head. I didn’t even put up a struggle, lifting my hands to make discarding the clothing that much easier.
His fingers pulled the cups of my bra down, revealing my naked breasts to him, a man I’d only just met. “Oh God,” I cried, as his mouth latched onto my left nipple and sucked. “This is… I’m not…God, this is so crazy. I don’t do stuff like this.”
I almost cried at the loss of Maddox’s mouth when he pulled away from my body. When I opened my eyes and looked into his, the blue almost completely eclipsed by his dilated pupils, I knew I wasn’t leaving this room until he’d touched every part of me.
“Do you want me?” he asked, the lust in his voice giving it a ragged effect. “Right now, right here. Do you want me?”
I swallowed thickly. Suddenly, the most miraculous thing happened. I didn’t know if it was because of the alcohol, or my sister’s earlier encouragement. Maybe it was simply the fact that I was sick and tired of being the good sister, but the switch in my brain that always told me when I was doing something wrong flipped off. I was no longer thinking about the consequences. They could all go straight to Hell.
“Yes.”
That was all it took. That one whispered word from me was all Maddox needed to hear. His lips crashed against mine in a raw, hungry kiss.
My fingers tangled in his hair in an effort to hold on, like I was afraid he’d disappear any second. He returned the gesture with one of his hand hands while the other skated down along my side. Hooking behind my knee, he lifted my leg so it wrapped around his waist. “Keep it there,” he commanded in a voice like gravel. I nodded my compliance as our tongues continued to battle, twisting and tangling together.
The rough pads of his fingertips continued to move up my thigh beneath the skirt Keagan had insisted I wear, until the whispered against the soaked lace of my panties.
“Fuckin’ Christ,” he gritted at the evidence of my arousal, but I as too consumed by the feel of him pushing the material aside to pay attention to anything else. “Yeah, you want me. You’re fuckin’ soaked, Green Eyes.”
My eyelids opened to half-mast to find him grinning at me like a cocky bastard. I gave him the best replica of a glare that I could muster, considering I was already close to coming undone.
He laughed at my expression, his fingers dancing across my slick folds. “Would you look at that. She’s got fire in her after all.”
“Shut up,” I breathed, my chest rising and falling at a rapid pace. “No one—” My words ended on a garbled moan when he shoved two fingers inside me and started pumping in and out.
“What was that?” he asked teasingly. His thumb hit my clit and began circling as he crooked the two digits inside me, rubbing across my G-spot. “What were you saying?”
My hips thrust back and forth, riding his hand. Our lips were just a whisper apart as I groaned. “No one—no one likes an arrogant bastard.”
“The way your pussy’s squeezing my fingers I think it’s safe to say you like me just fine.”
My nails dug into his shoulders as my head fell against the door. “Oh God. Just… just stop talking. I’m so—I’m going to…”
Maddox’s thumb circled faster. His fingers pumped harder. “Give it to me. Let me hear you. I came on a broken scream, clutching onto Maddox like a lifeline as my orgasm crashed over me. “That’s my girl. Now it’s my turn.”
Chapter Four
Wave after wave of euphoria washed over me as I started coming down. The sound of Maddox’s zipper lowering resonated through the blood rushing in my ears.
“Open your eyes, gorgeous.” I struggled to do as he said but finally managed to peel my eyelids open in time to see him remove a condom from his back pocket and place it between his teeth, ripping it open. “Watch me take you.”
I’d never been with a dirty talker. Then again, I’d never been with a man who was able to get me off. I wouldn’t have thought I’d like it, but this experience was proving otherwise. I loved it.
My gaze followed his hand as it moved down between us to his thick, rigid cock protruding from his leather pants. I licked my lips at the sight of it. The unexpected desire to take him in my mouth came over me. Going down on a guy was never something I’d been into, but his dick was just so… perfect, like everything else about him.
A low, heavy rumble vibrated from his chest. “You keep looking at my cock like that and this’ll be over way too fuckin’ soon.”
“Hurry,” I pleaded, unable to say anything else. Luckily I didn’t have to, because just as the word passed my lips shoved my panties out of the way and thrust his hips, driving in to the hilt.
“Jesus, fuck me!”
He could say that again.
His body pounded mine into the hard door as he took me hard and fast, so thick and long that he stroked every inch of me. “Christ, Green Eyes,” he growled. “Your pussy’s like a goddamn vise, baby. So fuckin’ tight.”
His filthy words lit a whole new fuse deep inside of. I dropped my forehead against his shoulder on a loud moan. This night was just full of first time experiences. My first concert, my first time having sex with a rock legend, my first time coming by someone else’s hands… and now I was about to have my first ever multiple orgasm.
“Maddox,” I whimpered as the intensity grew.
“That’s it, gorgeous. Say my name again. Let me hear who’s fucking you.” He forced my other leg around his hips so that his muscular frame was the only thing holding me in place.
“Madd—oh my—oh God!” My walls clamped down so tight around him it was a wonder he could still move. But damn, did he move. Over and over, coaxing every cry, every moan, every molecule of air from my lungs.
His grunts echoed in my ear as he drove harder, faster. Finally, he planted himself deep and roared with his own release.
His knees buckled and he took me with him as he slid down to the floor, resting me on my back with his elbows braced on either side of my head to hold his weight.
“Jesus,” he panted, sucking in huge gulps of air.
For some reason that made me fall into a fit of laughter. “You can say that again. That was… wow!”
His chuckle shook my body. “Baby, that was way more than wow. I came so goddamn hard my legs gave out. Thought my head was going to explode for a second there.”
All I could do was smile up into those unique blue eyes of his.
“You know,” he continued, brushing a strand of hair from my, forehead, “for someone who claims to have never done this before you’re really fuckin’ amazing at it.”
My brow furrowed as he pushed off of me and gave me his hand to help me off the floor. “Uh, thanks, I guess?”
He slid the condom off and tied it in a knot before tossing it into a waste bin across the room. “No, I should definitely be thanking you, Green Eyes.”
The strangeness of the situation finally began to penetrate my brain as I watched him tuck his dick back into
his pants and zip them up. I’d just had a one-night stand. I’d just had sex with a man I didn’t know anything about. Holy shit!
My father would lose his mind if he ever found out.
Keagan was probably going to want to celebrate with a cake and balloons or something. I kept waiting for the shame and regret to take hold as I picked my shirt up and readjusted the rest of my clothing, but it never came. I’d finally done something for me. Sure, it was a little reckless and a whole lot insane, but it hadn’t been for anyone but me.
I felt like a new person. A Reagan that took what she wanted without regard to what anyone else would think. And damn, but that felt liberating.
“So,” Maddox spoke, pulling me from my inner musings, “the party’s probably about to move its way to our hotel. If you come with we can have a repeat performance.” He moved toward me, stopping close enough to reach out and run his finger across the top swells of my breasts revealed by the neckline of my shirt. “Fucking you against a door was out of this world, sweetness, but I’m dying to see how wild you go when we have a bed to move around in.”
I smiled up at that insanely attractive man. The offer was tempting, really. But… “Thanks, but I think I’ll pass.”
The look on his face was downright hilarious. “You’ll pass?” he asked, his head jerking back.
“That was fun. A lot of fun,” I admitted. “You have no idea how much I appreciate you helping me step outside of my comfort zone, but I think I’ve gone as far as I’m comfortable with for tonight.” I patted his chest softly, hoping the placating gesture would help soothe the sting of rejection, but his face didn’t soften one bit.
“So, let me get this straight. We fucked.” I nodded. “We finished.” Another nod from me. “And now you’re just bailing?”
I shrugged that time. “Well, I mean, when you put it like that it sounds kind of—”
“Fucked up?”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “I was going to say rude, but fine. We’ll go with yours.”
