  Chapter Thirty-Two

  Eden

We’re laying side by side in Ryan’s bed facing each other. He’d cleaned us both up but neither of us had gotten dressed. He’d pulled the blanket up around us and I’d snuggled in not bothering to look for my clothes. Enjoying our little bubble. “Is it always that good?” I ask breaking the silence. He smirks at me, “Stick with me baby, I got you” I can’t help but smile back at him “Oh so you’re saying the next guy I do this with will disappoint?” I hear him growl before he pulls me in to him, he flops on to his back, nestling me in to his side and wrapping an arm around me. “No other guy’s will ever have the pleasure Eden, you’re all mine.” I smile in to his side at his possessive tone. We lay there in comfortable silence as he rubs his hand up and down my arm. I start to drift off to sleep, just before I let it take me over I hear him whisper. “I’m going to fuck this up, but don’t leave Eden, I won’t survive it.”

I jerk awake when I hear a nearby door close. I’m wrapped around Ryan like a human pretzel, my legs wrapped around his and his arms laced around me. I look up to his face but his eyes are still closed. I reach up to his strong jaw cupping it with my hand. Slowly lowering my mouth to his and pecking at him softly. Morning breath be damned. He stirs awake, opening his eyes a few times before closing them again. But then I see a huge smile spread across his face. “I could get used to waking up like this.” He chuckles. I Swat at his chest and lower my head back down to his shoulder, snuggling back in. “Me too.” I mumble as his arms around me tighten.

  EPILOGUE.

  One Year Later…

  Ryan

I can’t help but shake my head, smiling as I walk along the pathway to the front of the building. I’d finished work early to come pick Eden up from University. We were celebrating our one-year anniversary tonight but I just couldn’t wait until knock off time. Of course when I got here the first thing I spotted was Eden, the second was some dickhead standing to close to her checking her out every time she looked away. She was still so oblivious to her beauty. I wrap my arms around her waist as I reach them, pulling her in to me. “Hey babe” I don’t take my eyes off the wanker in front of me and when he notices my glare he takes a step back. Yeah that’s right dickhead, she’s mine.

I feel Eden tilt her head towards me and when I look down I see that beautiful dimple she’s sporting more often than not these days. “Ry! What are you doing here?” leaning in capturing her lips with mine. Her little admirer chooses that moment to cough, drawing her attention back to him. “Oh sorry, how rude of me. Ryan this is Grant, he’s in my class. Grant this is Ryan…” I cut her off “Her boyfriend. How you doing man?” I don’t move to shake his hand, instead I continue to trail kisses down her cheek and jaw. “Ah right, yeah good man. I better get going, see you next week Edes?” she nods before he hightails it. I kiss the side of her head once more and whisper in to her ear. “Jase is going to be pissed that some rookie is trying to steal his nickname for you.” She laughs while turning in my arms. “Better not tell him then huh?” she laces her arms around my neck and stands up on her toes to land a kiss on my lips. Moaning in to her I deepen it until I’ve left her breathless, gently pulling her arms from around my neck, I lace my fingers through hers. “Come on let’s get out of here, I’ve got plans for you that don’t include the student body watching.” She giggles, trailing after me.

We’d celebrated in true fashion, christening the new sheets she’d brought last week. Eden had moved in with Jase and I a couple of weeks ago after Aubree accepted a role for a dance company in Melbourne. Eden was already planning a trip down to visit her, they FaceTime every fucking night about it. I was sad for Eden that she was missing her best friend. But I’m still a selfish bastard. So I won’t lie I constantly drift between wishing Aubree would have stayed and loving that she didn’t because I get more one on one time with Eden.

I walk back in to the room and notice Eden had thrown on a bra and matching pair of panties, her hair was up on top of her head and she’d wiped off the remaining make up she’d been wearing. She looked stunning as always. When she notices me her face lights up “IS THAT CAKE” she squeals jumping up on to her knees in the middle of our bed and throwing her arms out towards it “gimme gimme” I let out a chuckle but pass it over, you don’t get between this little bird and her cake. She snatches a fork out of my hand and settles cross legged impatiently waiting for me to join her. Throwing on a pair of trackies I meet her back on our bed. She tells me about her classes while we tuck in to the cake together. Eden had ended up picking up some photography courses her University offered and was still happily enrolled in her Business course with Jase. It had grown on her and now that she’d embraced it she was really thriving in her studies.

“Edes, when is Ryan getting home?” I hear Jase holler while opening up the bedroom door. He takes us in and I see Eden blush before she tries to dive under the blanket to cover herself up. He chuckles and I grab my pillow throwing it at him, “Knock next time arsehole.” He catches it, walking further in to the room. “Oh come on Edes, don’t hide that body from me.” I know his joking because he wouldn’t be so stupid to try and get between me and Eden, but she throws her fork at him mortified.

He catches it with ease and takes a seat on the edge of the bed, casually joining in on eating our cake. “Hey!” she growls at him and dives for the fork keeping the blanket around her. He doesn’t let her take it back. Instead he plays victim, “I’m hurt Ede’s this is our time to hang out” He holds on to his heart like its breaking and she snickers at his foolishness. Eden and Jase were as thick as thieves. Spending most afternoons together before I got home from work and whisked her away to have all to myself.

While I’m distracted by my brother’s poor acting abilities she snatches my fork right out of my hand, but before I can tell her off she plants a quick kiss on my lips and I’m happy. “You two are nauseating, can you go back to not being in love?” I might believe he’d meant it if he hadn’t been one of our biggest supporters along the way, pushing me out of the comfort zone I’d built around myself. “I never didn’t love her, just because you don’t say something out loud doesn’t mean you don’t feel it on the inside. It just took me a little longer to understand that.” When Jase gets a look at Eden he drops his fork and rolls his eyes, as he stands shaking his head and walking out. I turn back to her right as she launches herself at me, neither of us caring that we were getting cake all over our new sheets.

  EDEN

My mum always said the three most important letters in my name were the EDN, because if you rearranged them it spelt ‘END’ and I was the end of anything good in her life.

Ryan says the letters rearranged in my name are NEED and he will always need me to be the best version of himself he can be.

  I think I like Ryan’s version better.

  The End.
