by Richard Todd
Roger pivoted his computer display to the general. The general’s expression went to shock.
Roger continued, “General, there’s more. There’s much more…”
At that moment, another alarm sounded. It was the klaxon of the great Time Tunnel vault door on Level 1. The noise of the celebration faded to silence.
Gunther was the first to speak. “No! That is not possible.”
“Who’s coming through the door?” exclaimed the general. “Give me a view of the door cameras.”
Gus punched up the cameras—they showed only static.
“General, you don’t understand…” said Gunther.
“Show me the Level 1 cameras,” shouted the general.
Again—static.
“General!” shouted Gunther. “You don’t understand! The complex is outside time. There is nothing outside. The only way into the complex is through the Time Tunnel chamber.”
The general again looked at the empty chamber—nothing.
“General! There is no door!” Gunther shouted.
The brilliant blue strobes of the Time Tunnel vault door began to flash, as the great locks unlatched and the door began to swing open. A man was standing in the doorway. Backlit against the anteroom lighting, it was difficult to make out his features. He took a step out of the shadows into mission control. The man was dressed in an expensive solid black suit over a sleek black V-neck T-shirt. He had aged nearly a decade in the few minutes since the general had last seen him.
It was Kyle Mason.

DECEMBER 12, 2001. Three months have passed since the twin towers collapsed, killing Major Kyle Mason’s newlywed bride. His Delta force unit is now in Afghanistan, on the doorstep of Osama Bin Laden’s Tora Bora mountain fortress. Kyle is close to his target—within 100 meters of avenging his wife’s death.
As Delta closes for the kill, a corrupt Afghan warlord betrays the Americans, allowing Bin Laden to escape into Pakistan. Crushed by his failure at Tora Bora, Kyle quits Delta and disappears.
Seven years later, Kyle receives a surprise visitor who recruits him for an incredible mission. Using technology at Area 51 recovered from Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, Kyle will travel back in time to stop 9/11 and save his wife.
Time Tunnel: The Towers is a daring suspense story that weaves actual history with the tantalizing science of time travel to rewrite 9/11 with an alternate ending. The ending we all want.
