“So we're helping her. No question about that. But are we just going to take him out? Or do we try to find out about the drugs? I know we've tried to watch out for that shit some, but we haven't gone hardcore at it. That's the decision we need to make. Also, we need to think about any possible blow back if it's even hinted that we were involved.” I threw out there, playing devil's advocate.

“One thing. I think we need that little girl to move into the Clubhouse. I don't think she needs to go out and take a chance on being seen anywhere,” Cueball remarked.

Thank God someone else brought that up. I had already been thinking that but didn't want anyone to think I just wanted her close to me if I suggested that. Especially after her comment of me being her biker hero. Fuck, that felt good inside, I guess I did help her out after all.

“Agreed,” Tater said, as others murmured their support to Cueball's suggestion.

“She may not want to do that. She strikes me as being pretty independent,” Blood threw out there.

I shrugged my shoulders, “We'll make that as part of the condition of helping her out.”

“Pretty sure that would work,” he replied.

Seer spoke up, “I think we need to get KJ here and see what he thinks before we decide on what we should do. Most of the things we've done have been stuff he needed done that he couldn't legally get away with.”

I inclined my head at him.

“Okay, we'll do that. However, Doom, I want you to dig into the bastard and the law firm and see what you can find out. The more we know about him and the firm, the better. I'll talk to KJ and see when I can get him here.”

“Would like to be in on that meeting, Prez,” Slaughter said.

  “As would I,” Trooper commented.

  “Me too,” Ranger spoke up.

I raised my hands up to stop the comments. “I hear you fuckers. If you all want to be there, I'll call Church. But you all need to be prepared for this to take place in the middle of the damn night, you realize that right? He’s been so busy lately, you all know he hasn’t even been able to make it to Church the last few months.”

Every head nodded affirmative to me.

“So be it. Alright, go on out and get you a drink. I'll go talk to Ava.”

  Chapter 7

It is not sex that gives the pleasure, but the lover.

  ~Marge Piercy~

  Mad Dog

  May 29th, 1998

I had mixed emotions about what I was about to tell Ava. There was something about her that woke up every damn nerve cell in my body. I liked what I was seeing when I looked at her, my damn cock definitely liked her sexy as sin body. She was completely different from Beth in her appearance, but hell, she didn't look anything like she did seven years ago either. Back then, she had the same sweet look to her that Beth had.

Fuck, maybe it was a good thing that her look was totally different. Because there was no way I could ever get her confused in my mind with Beth. Damn, here I was thinking about her sexually when all she wanted from me was help with vengeance and justice, talk about putting the cart before the horse. But my cock didn't feel the same way, as soon as my gaze landed on her, he started getting real happy. God. Damn. I sure didn’t need to approach her rocking a fucking hard on.

Creed and Brick were talking to her and she was smiling at them, but I could tell she was anxious. She was pulling the paper off the beer bottle and had a little pile of it in front of her. Looked like she'd already had more than one, I couldn't blame her though. This had to be nerve wracking for her, to be so close to help and not knowing if you were going to get it or not. I made my way over to her and sat on a barstool beside her.

“Brick, could you grab me a beer?” I asked as I spun my seat a little to look at Ava.

  “Sure thing, Prez.”

After he handed me the beer, he and Creed walked toward the other end of the bar, letting me have some privacy with Ava. She spun around and looked at me. I saw hope, fear, and despair float across her face. I knew how she was feeling, and it was one of the hardest things to do, wait for a chance for justice. How she had managed to wait seven years, I'll never know.

“We're gonna help you,” I started off and she wrapped her arms around herself as relief hit her. “But we have some conditions.”

She nodded, “Anything, just tell me what it is.”

“Don't be too quick to say that until you hear what we want. And we could add to this at any time, Ava. It's for your safety and ours as well.”

  “Okay, Prez.”

“First off, non-negotiable, if you can't agree to this, we can't help you.” I watched her gulp nervously. “You have to move into the Clubhouse, and for the time being you'll have to quit work at the bar.”

I saw her start to argue, then she bit her bottom lip. Fuck, I wished she hadn't done that. All it made me want to do was lean forward and suck her lower lip into my mouth and let my teeth rake across it. I shifted uncomfortably.

  “Can I ask why?”

“Yeah, darlin', you can. For one thing, you did real good when you kept yourself away from anyone you knew. That kept you out of the public eye, so you shouldn't ever be looked at when this fucker ends up dead. But, we don't know who he told about what your husband overheard.”

  She nodded at me.

“And if you're here, we can keep you safe and no one would see you here but Brothers, their women and families, plus the club girls. And no one on the compound would ever say a word that you are staying here. I'll make sure of that.”

As I mentioned the club girls, I watched as her gaze went around the room. Fuck, of course Cotton would be getting a damn blow job from Fawn right now. I watched as her eyes paused on them a second. I was curious what her response would be. I knew our MC wasn't as bad as a lot of 1%'ers, but it wasn't all sunshine and roses either. Men wanted to fuck and that was one of the attractions to being in an MC for some of them; the ability to fuck and not having to worry about a woman being in their lives on a permanent basis.

As she studied them, I saw a slight flush cross her face. She wasn't unaffected by what she was seeing. If I wasn't mistaken, she was turned on a little by what she was observing. It looked like she was having trouble trying to force her gaze off of them as she shifted on the stool. Yeah, I'd bet anything she was a little wet. Damn, my cock was pressing against the buttons on my jeans making it damned uncomfortable to sit here.

“Like something you see?” I asked huskily.

She jerked her eyes around to mine and started to shake her head no, then dropped her gaze. I saw the exact moment she realized I had a hard on the size of Texas. Her eyes flew to mine and her flush deepened. She ran her tongue across her bottom lip. I groaned. Fuck, she was killing me.

“Can't help that, darlin'. Seeing you watch Cotton get a bj and knowing that you were turned on seeing it, made me fucking hard as a rock. You're a beautiful woman and you know you are. And fuck yes, you turn me the hell on.” I watched as surprise flared through her eyes at my comment. Her teeth started torturing her bottom lip.

“Fuck quit doing that to your lip. Makes me want to kiss the fuck out of you and suck on that lip and bite it myself.”

Her eyes widened, she swallowed hard, and her eyes dropped to my lips. Christ. I hadn't been this turned on in ages. I shifted again, trying to relieve some of the pressure on my cock. Her eyes dropped to my lap again.

“Keep it up and we'll be going to my room,” I growled at her.

I ran my hand down my face. How the fuck did I get so far off topic? She fucking had me twisted in knots. As I lowered my hand, I looked at her again and fuck me, she was biting her damn lip again. I reached up, put my hand under her jaw, put my thumb on her bottom lip and pulled downward. We both groaned at the contact.

“Jesus. Christ. Touching you is like touching a live wire. I swear you'd fucking burn me alive.” I shook my head, I had to get back on track with our conversation.

  I cleared my throat a
nd started our discussion again, “You wouldn't be able to leave the grounds at all, period. And if it's decided you can go somewhere, you'll have someone with you at all times.”

“Okay, Prez,” the word came out raspy.

“We'd expect you to move in tonight. And right now, we're not sure how we are going to go about this. I need to talk to KJ and get his input on it.”

“Who's KJ?” she asked me. “Is he a bigger boss in the MC than even the Prez?”

“Why do you keep calling me the Prez?” I asked curious as fuck about that.

“Well since you didn't introduce yourself, that's the only thing I know to call you,” she smarted back at me.

I groaned. I hadn't fucking introduced myself to her at all. She had fucking scrambled my brain so bad I wasn't thinking straight.

“Sorry about that, darlin'. I'm Mad Dog, you can call me Dog if you'd like.”

  “Is that your real name?”

“No, but I don't go by that, ever.”

I closed my eyes. Fuck, there was no way I could have her call me by my name. “Sorry, my wife called me by my name and I just don't use it anymore.”

  “Called?” she inquired.

“Yeah, she's been gone for twenty years. March ninth,” I murmured.

She blinked at me and said, “It was you at the cemetery the day I was there.”

I thought back to that day and remembered seeing a woman across the graveyard.

  “Mt. Olive?”

  “That's the one,” she whispered.

  “Yeah, that was me.”

She cleared her throat, took a breath and asked, “What happened?”

“A drunk driver killed her and our unborn daughter. She was eight and a half months pregnant.” I told her. It was easier to talk about now. But I knew there would always be some pain there.

“So you know how I feel.”

“Yeah, darlin'. I know exactly what you feel.”

  “Did you kill him?”

“Let's just say I got my justice.”

  She nodded at me.

“Will I have to do what those girls are doing with the guys?”

My body jerked, where the fuck had that come from. “Fuck no. None of those fuckers better touch you.” I saw her body slump in relief.

  “What about you?”

  “What about me, what?”

“Does no one touching me include you?”

Jesus. She was going to kill me.

“Do you want me to touch you?” Say yes, say yes, I thought.

  “Maybe.”

  “Fuck, I'll take a maybe.”

She smiled a little smile at me. Yeah, this woman was gonna be the death of me if I didn't get her in my bed soon.

  “Who is KJ?”

“You have a fucking way of keeping me off track,” I muttered and shook my head trying to clear it of all sexual thoughts. “KJ is my cousin, he's also the county sheriff.”

I watched her stiffen up upon hearing he was the law.

“Don't worry. I need him to help us out. He won't turn us in.”

I saw doubt cross her face. I sighed. I hated giving out info on KJ, but she needed to be reassured, and the only way to do that was to let her know about him.

“If you fucking tell anyone what I'm about to tell you, I'll kill you, understand me?” I growled at her and watched as she gulped nervously and nodded. “Dead serious here, babe.”

“I won't say anything to anyone, ever,” she promised.

“He's a secret member of the club.”

“Okay,” she said as a puzzled look crossed her face. “How's that work?”

I shrugged, “If we have things we need help with, he helps us out with info and backup if needed. If there's something going on that ties his hands and he feels like it's a situation that needs to be handled sooner than the hands of justice can or will turn, we take care of it for him.”

I could almost see the wheels turning in her head as she thought about that. “Huh, that's actually kind of brilliant,” she stated.

She got it. Life had taught her that it wasn't always black and white. It had a lot of gray areas to it, and sometimes revenge, vengeance, justice, whatever you wanted to call it, needed to be handled outside the law.

“I need to get his take on this Miller guy. And that's another thing you need to get right with. This probably won't happen overnight. If he's still running drugs like that into our area, we need to see what we can about shutting that down. That's where KJ comes in. I need his thoughts on the matter. Can you handle that?”

“I've waited seven fucking years. Yeah, I can handle it,” she replied.

Fuck, she was a strong woman. I admired the hell out of that. I also admired the fact that she wanted the fucker to pay for what he took from her and she was doing what she could to make that happen.

“Okay, so what will I do here all day? I'll go fucking nuts with nothing to do.”

“Well, there's several Old Ladies that live in the compound. I'm sure they wouldn't mind you visiting them.”

She was shaking her head at me, “No. I mean I wouldn't mind meeting them and possibly hanging with them some, but I'm used to working. It will drive me nuts not doing anything.”

I hadn't thought about that, I admired her even more for not wanting to mooch off us.

“Well, I guess you could tend bar here if you like.”

  “Wouldn't I be taking the Prospect's job?”

“Fuck, how do you know so much about MC life?” I asked. This woman was fucking smart as hell.

“Research, TV, plus I've met a few bikers in my time as a bartender.”

That made sense, I thought as I lifted my chin at her.

“Nah, you won’t be taking their job, there are always other jobs to do around here, plus they can work at The Watering Hole.”

“So y'all are the ones who are gonna buy it.”

She didn't ask me that, just made it a flat statement. Yeah, very intelligent.

  “Yeah, we're gonna buy it.”

  “Can I ask a question?”

  I laughed. “Sure darlin'.”

  “Are y'all into illegal shit?”

“Nope. All our businesses are legal. We own a garage and body shop, a construction company, and soon a bar,” I said as I smirked at her.

Once again, I saw the relief flow through her.

“Does that make you feel better about us?”

“Yes and no. From your cuts I knew you were a 1%'er club, and most of those are into illegal activities.” I nodded at her, agreeing with her statement. “But there's still a part of me that believes in following the law. However, sometimes the law needs to be broken.” She sent a slightly naughty grin at me. “I break it daily myself.”

I looked at her curiously trying to get my mind off her damn smile, it sent all kinds of thoughts racing through my head.

  “How's that?”

“Once I get on my bike, I know one speed. FAST.”

  “You fucking ride?”

  “Yep.”

  “Whatcha ride?”

  “A 1983 Harley XR 1000. She's a fucking sweet ride.”

This woman just kept getting better and better, and my cock was getting harder and harder if that was possible. I thought by now he would have gone down, but hell no, he was wanting out of my pants and into her sweet pussy. Mother. Fuck. I had to keep my mind on other things, or my balls were gonna be so blue that they'd blind people.

“How much stuff you got at your place?”

“Not much. I can carry it all on my bike.”

“Then let's go get it, now. I'd rather do this while it's still dark. That is if you are agreeing to our terms.”

“I'm agreeing to them. Fuck, I might have even agreed to be a club girl if you had made it a condition.”

“Fuck no, you wouldn't have. It would have never been a condition, we aren't that type of a club. We respect our women. Whether they’re Old Ladies, wives, or club girls. It doesn't matter. And if I see anyone disre
specting a woman, then they gotta talk to me about it. Which means, I'll probably beat the shit out of them.”

She smiled at me and said, “You know, I think I'm gonna like it here.”

Fuck, I knew I was gonna like her being here, especially if I got my cock inside her.

“Listen up, fuckers,” I shouted. “Any of you sober enough to ride?”

I saw several hands go up in the air.

“If you've had more than three beers in the last hour, keep your ass here, if not and you want to ride with Ava and me to go pick up her stuff, head out to your bikes.”

I held my hand out to her and she put hers in mine. I intertwined our fingers and led her outside. Her fingers felt fucking good wrapped around mine. Fucking good.

I let hers go as we approached the bikes. She smiled at me and made her way toward her bike. I could hear the exclamations being made as the guys watched her straddle her bike, start it and put her helmet on. I pulled out just a little and waited until everyone was ready, then I motioned for Ava to take the lead. She smiled at me and we crawled down the driveway and through the gate that Axel had already opened.

She stopped as we pulled up to the main road, glanced back at me, smiled a devilish little smile, and I knew we were about to be in for a ride. She turned back around, pulled out onto the road and opened her bike up. She flew through the gears, driving hell bent for leather. Fuck, she wasn't kidding, I thought as I opened my bike up to catch up with her. But then again, I too liked her speed. FAST.

  ~*~

As we pulled back into the parking lot of the Clubhouse, I couldn't help but be relieved that we had gotten her out of that dump she was in. How the fuck she managed to sleep in there was beyond me. It was clean, just had an overall disgusting feel to it. By the expressions she made while we were there, I'm pretty sure she was glad to be leaving as well.

I ended up putting a bag on the back of my bike since she had a little more than she realized. I heard her mutter something about having too many damn clothes, which was funny to me. When Beth was alive, our closet had been full of her clothing. That had been one of her passions. And yet, here was Ava muttering about having too many. Night and day. This worried me some. I was wondering if I was only attracted to Ava because she was so much different than Beth.
