Alpha Possessed Page 7

“Instead they send their number two,” Roman says with a laugh. “What a joke.”

“Who’s your number one now?” Easton asks. “Who got promoted after I threw Burton off that cliff?”

Greaser grins as he looks back at his men. “You don’t know?”

Cameron and his brothers go silent and still like a bomb is about to go off.

“Burton is alive and well,” Greaser says, clearly loving this. “And wait until he finds out where the Dixon boys are hiding. He’s going to be salivating for his chance to get even for what you assholes did to us.”

“He’s only going to find out if you guys roll out of here,” Jacob says as his body starts to swell up. “We’ll just have to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

My stomach drops as I watch him shake violently. A loud tear rips through the air as an enormous Kodiak explodes out of him. The bear throws his head back and lets out a roar.

Easton, Roman, and Cameron being to phase as well. My eyes are locked on my man as his body convulses and shakes. Oh my God… My hands are shaking as I watch a vicious Kodiak bear burst out of the man who was inside of me last night.

The bear turns and looks at me. His brown eyes have a softness to them that looks so familiar. It’s the same possessive loving look that Cameron gives me. He’s in there looking back at me, I can tell.

That softness melts away into fury as he turns back to the wolves who are starting their bikes and trying to escape.

The four bears rush forward and leap on them, swiping paws and gnashing teeth. Cameron’s bear heads straight for Greaser as his brothers and cousin stop the others on their bikes by knocking them over or biting the tires so they can’t get away.

Greaser rolls out of the way of Cameron’s furious jaws and he phases into his wolf. The wolf is big, but he’s got nothing on my protective bears. Even six to four, they’re outmatched.

It’s chaos and whimpers and tufts of fur flying in the air as the men phase into their wolves and fight back.

Moose stands his ground, growling at the chaotic scene as he protects me from the killers. I can tell he wants to get in there and fight with his owners, but I’m glad he stays with me.

Cameron’s bear is as intense as he is, lunging on one wolf after another. One wolf whimpers as the giant Kodiak sinks his teeth into the back of his neck and throw him into the parked bikes.

Two wolves leap onto Jacob’s bear and he lets out a murderous roar before grabbing one of them in his jaws and tossing him. He swipes at the other one with a huge paw and slams him into the dirt.

I hate all of this fighting. I didn’t want this.

The last thing I want is for my new friends, especially Cameron, to get hurt or to get into trouble with the law.

Before I can talk myself out of it, I run into the middle of the fight and scream at the top of my lungs. “STOP!!!”

All of the animals pause and look at me in shock.

“I won’t run the article!” I shout. “Please stop fighting. I won’t run it. I’ll drop the story, I promise!”

The wolves take the distraction as an opportunity to run back to their bikes. They quickly phase back into their human forms, looking all bloody and beaten up as they climb onto their damaged motorcycles.

“Don’t!” I shout as the four bears go after them. “Just let them go. It’s over. I’m dropping the story.”

The bears stop and watch the bikers escape with a warning in their eyes. I can tell what they’re communicating—Come back and we won’t be so nice next time.

Greaser is the only one left. He revs the engine of his Harley as he glares at me.

“This isn’t over,” he says in his high-pitched voice. “Dylan Burton always finishes what he starts.”

Cameron’s Kodiak rushes forward, but Greaser peels away, leaving a cloud of dust behind him. Cameron’s bear chases him for a bit and then lets out a frustrated roar that gives me a deep shiver all over.

With the immediate threat gone, the bears eventually start to relax. Cameron’s Kodiak is huffing angrily as he storms back over but then his eyes soften when he sees me.

I start to panic as he walks over. Deep down, I know he’d never do anything to hurt me, but it’s still intimidating to see a full-grown bear approaching. He steps right up to me and licks my cheek.

“Hello,” I whisper to him as he digs the top of his head into my stomach, wanting to be pet. His head is huge. I slowly sink my hands into the scruff of his neck and he starts to breathe nice and slow as I scratch him.

Jacob phases back first and then Easton and then Roman.

I can tell that Cameron’s bear doesn’t want to let him out. He wants to stay out here with his mate for a little longer.

Finally, he gives in and begins to shake as he phases. Cameron explodes out of him, looking smoking hot without a stitch of clothing on.

“Is that true?” Jacob asks. “You’re not going to run the article?”

“I’m not doing anything that’s going to hurt you guys,” I promise. “The article is done. You can keep that part of you in the past.”

“It’s not in the past any longer,” Easton says with a shake of his head. “Burton is alive…”

“He’s going to come for us,” Roman says, looking uneasy.

“And we’ll be ready for him,” Cameron answers in a confident tone. “We’ll defeat him along with any of those mangy wolves that tag along.”

“I’m sorry that I’m the cause of all this,” I say, feeling awful.

Jacob shakes his head. “You had no idea what you were stepping into, Mary. We’re just glad that we were here to help keep you safe and we’re all glad that you’re here for our brother.”

“Really?” I ask as my cheeks start to blush.

He nods and then waves for Easton and Roman to follow him inside.

They both smile as they leave.

Cameron walks over and wraps his arms around me.

“Thank you for saving me,” I whisper.

“That’s what I’m here for.” He kisses my forehead. “What’s going to happen if you don’t turn in your story?”

“I’ll lose my job,” I answer with a sad laugh. “I’ll be homeless with nowhere to stay. What do you think about that?”

He grins as his arms tighten around me. “You’re staying with me.”

“I won’t argue with that anymore.”

“That makes me so happy to hear,” he says as he looks at me with so much love that I fear my heart will explode. “I just want to keep you safe and make you happy. What can I do to make you happy?”

“One thing,” I say with a smile. “I’d love a hot shower.”

  Chapter Ten

  Mary

I’m in heaven as the warm water washes over me. I swear this is the best shower in the history of plumbing.

I rest my forehead on the cold tiles and watch as the sweat and dirt washes off my flushed skin and circles around the drain.

I’m safe now. I’m safe and at home where I belong.

New York City is going to remain in my rearview mirror and Montana is the place I’m going to stay and raise a family with Cameron.

He’s proven to me that he’s all in and now, so am I.

My head whips around when the door opens and Cameron comes storming in. His body is flexed tight all over and his face looks strained, like he’s barely hanging on.

I slide open the glass shower door and stick my head out. “Are you okay?”

His breathing is harsh and choppy. His eyes are almost a golden color as he yanks off his shirt.

“Cameron,” I say, feeling my heart sink. “What’s wrong with you? You seem so tense.”

“My bear,” he growls in a coarse voice I’ve never heard before. “He wants his mark on you.”

My hand flies up to the tingling spot on my neck. I’ve been feeling like something was missing and now I know it’s his mark. The spot is tingling more than ever.

  He runs his hand throug
h his hair and balls it up in a fist. “After seeing those shifters around you,” he growls in that bristly voice. “It’s like he’s possessed. I can’t hold him back for much longer.”

His face is twisted up in agony. I swallow hard when I see how big he is. He’s much larger than normal. His arms look huge.

“Do what you have to do,” I tell him as my heart pounds. “I’m your mate. I can take it.”

He yanks off his pants and underwear and I gulp when I see his thick towering cock standing straight up.

Was it that big last night?

I step back as he grabs the shower door, slides it open, and steps inside. His huge frame blocks almost all the water as he towers over me.

“Do it,” I beg as he looks down at me with those sexy golden eyes. “Put your mark on me.”

He’s not soft and gentle like he was this afternoon. He’s rough and wild, grunting like a savage beast as he grabs me with his strong hands and yanks me around.

I gasp as my hands hit the tiles. I’m already so wet. I’ve never been more turned on in my life.

He gave me what I needed last night, but now, it’s my turn to give him what he desperately needs. My body is his to do what he pleases with.

He grabs my ass cheek and lifts it up as I feel the head of his hard cock press against my hole.

“Oh fuck,” I scream as he thrusts deep inside with one hard pump of his hips.

He shifts me around until I’m pressed against the glass door. He’s not taking his time or worried about breaking me in. He’s fucking me hard and fast, thrusting in and out like a feral monster. It feels so good.

I wipe the fog off the glass so I can watch us in the mirror. My breasts are pressed against the glass and my mouth is wide open as he takes me roughly from behind.

His fingertips are digging into my hips. I feel an orgasm coming on like an unstoppable force. It builds and builds with each thrust of his perfect dick. It’s bigger than this afternoon. Thicker. Longer.

My eyes are locked on him through the mirror as he starts to get even bigger. Everything is swelling up. His arms, his chest, his cock deep inside me.

I cry out as I start to cum on him.

His eyes flash brighter and I know that his animal is close to the surface. He’s mid-phase now and struggling to hold his bear back.

“Do it,” I moan as the orgasm hits its peak. I throw my head to the side, exposing my neck for him. “Mark me.”

With a snarl, he lunges forward and sinks his teeth into the tingling spot. Pain sears my skin, but it quickly turns into a comforting warmth that mixes with my orgasm and circulates through my body.

I’m his now. I’m truly his.

He slides his teeth out and thrusts his cock up one last time, holding himself inside me as he lets go with a monstrous roar.

Another orgasm hits me, mixing with the first when I feel his cock surging hot cum into my trembling pussy.

We’re both gasping as the warm water washes down on us. He’s clinging onto me and only lets go when I grab his hand.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers when he realizes how tight he was holding me. There are pink fingerprints on my skin that are sure to become bruises.

“It’s okay,” I whisper as I watch him shrink back to his normal size. “It felt really good.”

“Did I hurt your neck?” he asks as he slides out of me. I whimper at the loss.

I touch the tingling spot and it feels… right. Everything feels perfect.

“A little,” I say as I turn around to look at him. “But it feels good now.”

He holds my arms, clinging onto me as he stares at me in disbelief. “I still can’t believe you’re here.”

“I’m here,” I tell him. “And I’m going to stay.”

“Really?” The relief on his face brings a smile to mine.

I nod. “If you’ll have me.”

He wraps his big arms around me and holds me like he’s never going to let me go.

“You’re already mine, princess,” he says as he leans in and kisses the spot on my neck. “And I have the mark to prove it.”

I grin, knowing that’s never going to change.

I’m going to be his forever.

  Epilogue

  Mary

  Three Months Later…

“Not on my hand. Please not on my hand,” I whisper to myself as I lower the stick between my legs. It’s the first time I’ve taken a pregnancy test (or tried to pee on something) and it’s a little weird.

It’s been three months since I moved onto the ranch with Cameron and I absolutely love my new life. I’m still a city girl at heart, but this mountain town is growing on me. I’m ready to lay down roots and start a family with my amazing mate.

As predicted, my boss fired me when I told him the story fell through and I had nothing to turn in. I don’t mind. It was a small price to pay to keep these Dixon boys out of trouble and to keep myself alive.

And it’s not so bad because I got a job at the local paper and already got assigned a huge story—a big scoop on fertilizer prices going up by fifty cents. I might get the cover. I might just get a Pulitzer Prize.

It’s simple, but I like it. My life could use a little more simple.

I’m going to have a lot more time to enjoy life with my man and I might even be able to start writing non-fiction books like I’ve always wanted to.

“Alright,” I whisper as I pull the stick back up. “Let’s see if I’m knocked up.”

I see a little pink cross staring at me and I gasp.

  “No way!”

  I’m pregnant!

I can’t believe it, although it’s not too shocking considering Cameron and I have been having sex multiple times a day since we first met. It was bound to happen eventually, especially with such a virile, masculine man like him.

  Still, I’m going to be a mom…

“Holy shit, I’m going to be a mom!”

I flush the toilet and then stare at my shocked reflection in the mirror, trying to process all of the surging emotions running through me.

  Am I ready?

  Is anyone ever ready?

I close my eyes and take a few deep breaths, knowing that Cameron is going to be by my side the entire way. I can do anything with him. We can accomplish anything together.

The shocked feelings turn to excitement as I head outside to surprise him.

By the time I’m running out the door and across the field—oh crap, can pregnant women run? So much to learn—I’m absolutely giddy.

Moose comes darting over to join me, bouncing up on his huge legs and wagging his long tail.

“Want to know a secret?” I whisper to him. “I’m pregnant.”

He looks thrilled with his wide eyes and long tongue hanging out, but that’s the way Moose always looks. In my next life, I want to come back as a dog living on a Montana ranch.

My sexy man is riding a horse, looking hotter than ever as he herds some cattle in the field. I stop and stare at him for a few minutes, watching with complete gratitude and love as he gets down from his horse to help a calf who fell.

He’s such a big strong alpha of a man, but he also has the most gentle soul when it comes to the ones he loves and protects. I feel so lucky to be in that small group.

“Hey, cowboy!” I shout as he hops back onto his horse.

He spots me at once and the biggest smile cuts across his face. The sight of it makes my chest feel like it’s expanding as my heart swells.

I watch him as he turns his horse and bounds over here.

With Cameron, I always catch myself trying to catalog the little things so I can remember them forever. The way his hair bounces as he’s riding over, the tautness in his forearm as he grips the reins, the fierce protective look in his eyes as he watches me. I want to remember everything. Every moment. Every look he gives me. Every kiss, every touch, every word. I hate that some of it disappears into the cracks of my memories, but what gives me comfort is that there’s alwa
ys more coming.

“Hello, pretty lady,” he says as he pulls the horse up, its hooves kicking up dirt as he stops. “You’re looking stunning this morning.”

“I have a surprise for you,” I say as I hold the pregnancy stick behind my back.

“You’re already a surprise,” he says as he hops down from the horse with a thud. “I don’t need anything more than you.”

“You’re sweet, but you’ll like this one.”

I pull the stick out, but that mangy mutt Moose grabs it and runs off.

“No!” I shout in a panic. “Moose!!”

Cameron is quick to the draw. He grabs his lasso, spins it in the air, and tosses it at the fleeing dog. It wraps around Moose’s thick neck and he pulls him back as my heart pounds.

So far, I’ve had one job as a mother—to tell the father he has a baby on the way—and I’m already a disaster.

Cameron grabs Moose’s head and pries the pregnancy stick out of his jaws.

“What’s this?” he asks as he wipes the slobber onto his jeans and looks at it. “Wait, is this—?”

He stares at me in shock. Eyes wide, mouth hanging open. I start to giggle.

  “It is.”

  “You’re pregnant?”

  “We’re pregnant.”

He leaps forward and picks me up in his big arms, hugging me tightly as he spins us around in joy.

Moose tries to get in on the love, but Cameron pushes him away with a stiff arm.

“Careful, boy. Our girl is carrying a precious package.”

“Are you happy?” I ask, even though I know that he is. He’s been trying to get me pregnant for months with all of the talk about breeding me every time we’re intimate. I always love hearing that coming from his mouth. It’s such a turn on.

“Are you kidding me, Mary?” he asks as he drops to his knees. His hands are gripping my thighs and he kisses my stomach. “We’re going to have a family. I’ve never been happier in my entire life.”
