But when she tried to take him in her mouth again…
“Iie.” Long fingers found the nape of her neck, tugging her upwards. “I want to watch you come.”
He wanted to watch her…
Lilli’s cheeks had never felt so hot in her entire life. Nor had she ever been this turned on. No, this wasn’t her. Not even remotely. And this wasn’t the sort of thing that happened to Pediatric Nurses. Like ever.
But she obeyed his instructions, bracing her hands against his hard chest as she moved up his body. Climbing into his lap, she was reminded of the chemistry test kiss in his office. But the position was much different now, thanks to the long rod of flesh between his legs.
Presuming that when he said “Keep going,” he didn’t mean, “sit on my lap and gawk at me,” Lilli lifted up.
She knew after having fielded so many size-related questions from dozens of teenage girls that this was usually when most women would wonder about fit. But not Lilli. Somehow she knew, even before sinking all the way down onto his lap, that he would fill her perfectly. Not just because of her medical background, but also because of how wet she was. And how absolutely she wanted this.
“Hi,” she whispered when she was all the way seated.
Her greeting almost seemed to pain him. And he looked down, his head falling into her shoulder as he rasped, “Keep going.”
“Okay,” she agreed, easily enough…
...until she realized he wasn’t going to move. Had no plans to move. This, like everything that had come before, was all on her.
As if to confirm her assessment, he once again prodded, “Keep going.”
Okay, you can do this, Lilli told herself. Then, gamely, she started moving her hips up and down, eventually finding a rhythm that suited her, then excited her. Her eyes soon fell closed as her hips rolled on his dick, all restraint gone as she chased an explosion she could sense right around the corner.
This was all wrong. She knew she was doing it all wrong. Instead of doing everything in her power to please him, she was pleasing herself. Fellating herself on his cock like a woman without any shame.
But damn if she could bring herself to stop.
“Yeah, baby…yeah…Oh, God…Oh, God—!”
She cut off when two hands clamped onto her nipples and, without warning, twisted them so sharply, a hot bolt of pain sliced through her body, catapulting her straight over the cliff of what until then had only been a building orgasm.
She came with a long, guttural moan. The opposite of the high-pitched Japanese orgasms she’d once watched on late night TV while Doug and Ruby were at an away game.
Blinking, she came back to herself and all she could see was Mr. Nakamura gazing at her like…how to describe the way he looked at her?
With a strange mix of pride and triumph. Like he truly wanted nothing more than to watch her get off. Like despite all his responsibilities—his job, his family, his status as one of Osaka’s most eligible bachelors—there was nothing else for him in this moment, in this world, but her.
And why did she have the feeling that she was looking at him in much the same way as she asked, “But how about you? Don’t you want to come, too?”
His dark gaze raked her face, and then he gathered her in close, his head dipping into her neck as his hips bucked into hers with a rough jerk.
One thrust was all it took. She felt him expand, his lean body going rigid against her as he silently released, gritting his teeth where most men would have chosen to shout out. And fuck, that was hot.
How much control had it taken for him to hold back like that? Lilli wondered. Not to release, until he was ready. A hell of a lot, she guessed. And she then got the feeling that the company literature wasn’t just blowing marketing smoke when they claimed the Nakamura family was descended from samurais.
He held on to her for a long time after. Actually held wasn’t the right word. More like he rested against her, his arms loose around her waist as if this act had relieved him of whatever burden he’d brought with him into the apartment.
What are you mixed up in? she wanted to ask him. Why did that voice send me after you?
But of course she didn’t ask him that. Couldn’t ask him that. Instead, she stroked his soft hair as he breathed into her neck, wishing that not being able to ask a question meant it disappeared from your mind.
Chapter Fourteen
Would you like your car now?
No didn’t realize how long he’d been sitting with Ana until his phone lit up on the round wooden side table he’d placed it on before settling into the slipper chair.
He always kept his phone out when he was having sex. Just in case something more important came up. Also, so he could text for a car as soon as he was done. No need to linger with the women he’d only hired to fulfill his biological needs.
But if Miyuki was texting him, it must be well past the usual hour or less he typically spent with his Osaka Charm girls.
Yet he didn’t pick up the phone. In fact, he closed his eyes, resting his head on Ana’s shoulder. Even though he knew if he didn’t go home now, he’d have to cram like a schoolboy on the plane tomorrow to get his notes finished, he couldn’t let her go.
No silently swore, because he had technically finished, releasing into the condom. But he still wanted more. His eyes were closed. But the image of her large breasts as she came in his lap, still blazed bright in his mind. He needed to return to reality. But the feel of her in his lap. So soft. So warm. So real…
“What are you going to do with the money?” he ground out. Not so much a question, but a reminder to himself about what this really was. Little more than a commercial exchange of highly desired goods. Luxury perfume sprayed on a very base arrangement.
Though she hadn’t put on the perfume tonight. And he could feel her confusion in the way her back tightened, in the sudden pause of the hand stroking his hair.
“You mean the money Miyuki gave me earlier?” she asked.
“Yes. That money. And the money you will be paid at the beginning of every month until April. What plans do you have for it?”
“Um, that’s not exactly a sexy conversation topic. But you asked, so I’ll tell you. I’m planning to go back to school. Get my, um…masters.”
He leaned back from their half embrace then. Opened his eyes in order to look at her quizzically.
And she gave him a chagrined half-smile. “See I told you it wasn’t sexy.”
So she only planned to do this for a little while? After him she’d be going to school, not into another man’s arms? Why did this new piece of information make his heart beat faster?
“Oh, hey! Look at your phone…” she said, her eyes swinging away from his. “It looks like you got—I mean, received a text. Do you need to answer that?”
“Why do you do that?” he asked her.
“Do what?”
“Correct yourself. I don’t understand.”
“Well, according to the instructions I received from Osaka Charm, I’m only supposed to use sophisticated language with you. Not talk like I usually do. No cursing, no bad grammar. It’s probably a good thing for me to clean up my language, since I want to get my masters here soon anyway.”
Yes, her masters. An advanced degree in teaching English. “You enjoy working with children.”
Now a genuine smile spread across her face. “I do! I love being able to help them. See them grow. It’s a privilege, and I’m really happy to serve them during this stage of their lives.”
“Yet you are here with me.”
He shouldn’t have said it. He realized it almost as soon as the words were out of his mouth. He hated watching the smile curdle on her face in response to his question. Like he had taken something precious from her.
“Only for a little while,” she answered, her voice small.
Nakamuras were born warriors. And he and his younger brother Hayato, in particular, were descended from samurais on both sides. From an early age they’d been
taught to never, ever, under any circumstances shame either side of their family by showing weakness. That meant never explaining their actions or words. Especially when it came to Westerners. Yet No could feel an apology hovering on the top of his tongue, an explanation about how he was only trying to understand her thought process forming at the back of his mind.
But then his phone vibrated and lit up with another text:
“Is there anything else I can do for you before I go to sleep?” it flashed. Miyuki’s gentle way of repeating a question without actually asking it.
“Seriously, if you need to answer that…” Ana said.
The mood was awkward now. Thick with post-sex tension. Apparently she’d taken his words about waiting for a dismissal to heart. She didn’t move off his lap but she shifted so he was no longer inside her, and her discomfort was patently obvious.
He glanced at the phone, but only once before saying, “We shower before bed. That is our way here. Will you take a shower for me?”
At this point, No had to wonder if the American had even an ounce of guile in her blood. Her eyes flared as wide as an anime character’s with surprise, which made it all that more amusing when she answered, “Sure, no problem, I can do that,” with a forced casual tone.
Hesitating, she started to get up off his lap. Then stopped, seeming to think twice about possibly disobeying one of his commands.
Funny, Western girls had a worldwide reputation for being much more sexually open and outgoing, but he’d never met a woman from West or East as awkward as this one. So why did he find her manner so arousing? So incredibly hard to resist?
He gave her a slow nod of dismissal. After which she scrambled into her bedroom, closing the door softly behind her.
Then, and only then, did he pick up his phone to text Miyuki back.
Chapter Fifteen
Lilli wouldn’t say she took the longest shower ever, but yeah, it had to be up there in the ranks. She kept getting distracted, losing herself in thoughts of what had happened with Mr. Nakamura. Jesus, why didn’t anyone warn her sex could be that good? That hot?
Make you feel this guilty afterwards?
She’d expected to feel some kind of slutty about this whole business, but that wasn’t how he’d made her feel at all. Beautiful. Sexy. Treasured. All the words that probably shouldn’t come to mind when talking about her john. A seriously handsome and upscale john, of course, but a john nonetheless. A john she was supposed to be keeping tabs on for the mysterious voice.
But whatever, he was gone now after politely commanding her to take a shower before she went to bed. She got out of the shower. Dried off and threw her hair into four bantu knots, before flicking off the lights and heading into the bedroom—
She yelped when she found Norio Nakamura in her room. Pants zipped up, and texting on the chaise lounge as if this were his bedroom and not hers.
He looked up from his phone. “You weren’t expecting me to be here.”
“Well…no,” Lilli answered, patting her now rapidly beating heart. “Miyuki said you wouldn’t stay much longer than it took to…” She trailed off.
And he set the phone aside on the round glass table next to the chaise lounge. “Miyuki was mistaken.”
And that’s when Lilli noticed he had what appeared to be a set of folded pajamas on his lap.
“So are you staying the night, Mr. Nakamura?” she asked when No returned from the bathroom dressed in a long sleeved tee shirt and silk pajama bottoms.
Ana was now the one sitting on the chaise lounge, seemingly too baffled by his behavior to get into bed.
No inwardly cursed her for asking. Cursed himself for still being here. Why had he veered so far off plan? He still had no clue.
But he was here. Had even had Miyuki drop off a set of pajamas while Ana had been taking a rather long shower.
“And did you…” She stood, sniffing the air around him “...use my shampoo?”
“Hai, and your soap, and your dryer,” he answered, jaw tight. “I didn’t have my own.”
“That’s totally fine,” she said with a wide grin. “Oyin Honey Wash smells stupid good on you.”
A strange compliment, but a compliment nonetheless. And one he somewhat understood, because standing there with her made him feel both stupid and good. Desire to feel her soft brown skin, warm against his own pale shade, throbbed in his gut, threatening to compel him out of reason.
But he knew better. Knew wanting her softness wasn’t worth breaking one of his family’s most sacred rules.
“Left or right?”
Her soft question interrupted his hard thoughts, and he looked over to find her watching him with a strange look in her warm brown eyes. “Do you sleep on the left or right side of the bed?”
It was concern, he realized. The same thing that had been in her voice when she asked about his day earlier. In her real life, the one before and after her six months with him, she was a teacher. One who cared so much for her charges that she wanted to get further education in order to…how did she put it? Serve them.
He was used to being served. Had never known a time when paid personnel hadn’t been at his beck and call.
“I like your privilege,” Go had observed in that flat way of his back when the personal attendant that traveled with him to America had brought them both Primanti Brothers sandwiches so they might continue with their side project in one of the CMU robotics labs without a break.
“Left,” he answered Ana, pushing thoughts of his former friend—the only real friend he’d ever had—out of his mind. Though the truth was “the middle,” because he did not share his bed.
It was one of his staunchest rules, and he’d seen the confusion written clearly across Miyuki’s face when she handed him the pajamas he’d requested at the flat’s front door. Yet here he was, pushing back the covers and getting into bed with a woman who’d only been hired to serve his carnal pleasures and nothing more.
Ana flicked off her bedside light, leaving the room to the ever-present neon lights of Osaka. Enough light for her to see him. Unfortunately he could barely see her given the darkness of her skin. No hadn’t lied about liking to watch her and he cursed the night for taking away this particular pleasure.
One hour, he decided. One hour, then he’d text Miyuki to send a car.
But then he felt rather than saw Ana turn over on the cool white pillows to face him. “Is it okay if I stroke your hair for a little bit, just until I fall asleep?”
He stared at her in the dark.
“You have really nice hair,” she explained. “I like the feel of it.”
He didn’t give her spoken permission to do what she asked, but he scooted closer, and something inside him sighed when she settled her hand against the side of his head and began a soft rhythmic stroke of his freshly cleaned hair.
“So,” she said after a few moments. “Bad day?”
He cursed her voice. So soft, and laced with tender amusement. It made him ache for her, even though they were just a few inches apart.
No, he didn’t want to tell her about his day. He wanted to get this indulgent hour over with and then leave.
But when he opened his mouth to put an end to this line of questioning, he found himself saying, “I had an unexpected dinner invitation.”
“Yeah—I mean yes, I heard.”
“You don’t—”
He stopped short, but then decided to go ahead and tell her, “Miyuki is mistaken about my wishes surrounding the way you speak. If we are ever in public, you must use the most proper English and your very best Japanese. But when we are in private, you may use your natural grammar and tone with me.”
He stopped just short of admitting he liked her black American accent. Liked the way her words popped and twanged, especially when she was being direct.
But perhaps she sensed his feelings on this particular subject, because he could hear the smile in her voice as she said, “Alright then, I’ll talk like I normally talk when it
s just us. So your dinner didn’t go too good?”
“No, it didn’t. I was with my father. And my brother. But my father did all the talking.”
“Oh, dad stuff. I get it. He make you mad?”
Yes, he had, No realized, though having known and dealt with Kazuo all his adult life, it had never before occurred to him to assess how the man made him feel.
“He is a powerful man. A wise man. But he can also be an unforgiving man. And, at times, ruthless.”
“Sounds like a complicated relationship.”
“It is not,” No assured her. “I understand what is expected of me, and I honor my family in this way by doing what is expected of me. Usually he and I agree when it comes to business matters, but our discussion tonight involved…a former friend.”
“A former friend? Why former? Why not a now friend?”
Because he had no friends. No longer bothered to make them. Go had taught him the folly of trying to do that. But out loud he said, “Because we can no longer be friends.”
“Did this former friend do something to you?”
“In my father’s way of looking at the matter, yes. He went with another buyer after we made a bid on his company. So now my father believes he is our enemy, and right now our enemy has been brought low, partially because of things we have orchestrated. My father feels we should give final strike now before he recovers and becomes strong again. That is the Nakamura way.”
“Hmm, so that’s your father’s opinion on the matter. What’s yours?”
She had a way of stating things. One that made him inwardly question his most basic principles, even as he reaffirmed out loud, “My father’s opinion is my opinion.”
“Okay, if that’s how you want to play it. But I’m getting the feeling you’ve still got some love left for this former friend of yours. I get that you want to honor your father, but is there any way to do that, without, you know…kicking this dude who used to be your friend while he’s down?”
