Temptation Page 30

by Victoria Christopher Murray

The ride home had been completely silent and now Kyla’s eyes followed Jefferson as he came around the front of the Range Rover to open the door for her. She slowly slipped from the vehicle, sliding into his arms and without a word, he brought his lips to hers. The kiss began gently, but their urgency built, and he pulled her backward into the house. Jefferson used his hands to find their way, while their tongues continued to search and communicate. In the dark kitchen, Jefferson pushed Kyla against the center island. The hardness of the counter pushed into her back, but all she could feel was Jefferson leaning into her as they fought to become one. Her breaths came in small shudders as she shivered against his touch. Her mind was racing, but she couldn’t capture any of her thoughts. She only wanted to fill her head with her husband.

Minutes later, Jefferson pulled back slightly and with a swift, smooth movement, lifted Kyla into his arms. She put her arms around his neck, pulling him as close as she could. He moved gingerly through the darkened house and carried her up the stairs, just as he had carried her into the hotel the night they were married. He gently laid her on the bed and covered her body with his.

Her heart pounded through her chest, but then she realized it was his heart she felt. She let her hands roam over the hardness of his back and arms. She wanted to feel every part of him.

Finally he sat up, giving himself enough room to remove her jacket. He returned to her, kissing her, tantalizing her with the tips of his fingers. Every part of her body was on fire. He massaged her shoulders through the silkiness of her top and she moaned from deep inside as his fingers found their way underneath, touching her bare skin.

With experienced fingers, he unbuttoned her blouse, then, removed her skirt. His eyes and fingers drifted over her body. “You are so beautiful.”

Standing, he removed his clothes, in what Kyla was sure was just moments, and then he joined her. She sighed as his tongue traced her curves, making her body tremble. She lifted her head, her tongue begging to find his again and she took him in.

With her eyes closed, she let her hands and mouth communicate everything she wanted to say. She needed to let him know how much she loved him. And, she wanted to let him know that she forgave him.

She drifted, giving herself away totally. She was unconscious with love and she let herself discover her husband in the way she’d known him before. She let him take her completely—her entire body and mind. Just like the first time.
