“Up next, is squidstar beauty Moorla Tentacle calling it quits!?”
The display panel blinked black for an instant before the systems status information returned.
Teller looked upward and heaved a sigh. “They keep it up, the story will get so twisted out of shape that we’ll be in the clear.”
“Nikira’s work?” Ord said.
He turned to his copilot. “I hope not. I’ll never hear the end of it.”
“ARC Lance, you are clear for departure,” the spacefield control operator sent. “Traffic control will pick you up once airborne.”
Ord acknowledged.
“So, Orry, you ready to get off this rock?” Teller said.
Ord rumbled a chuckle. “Ready, Teddy.”
Teller laughed. “What about you, Crimebot?”
“I suppose I am,” Ho said with a cant of his head. “At least they did not refer to me as a Crime-Mech.”
“How about we punch a hole in the sky and go look for trouble.”
“Ord ready.”
“Ho is as well.”
Teller smiled and grasped the controls. “Let’er buck.”
