“I will never get enough of you.” He groaned and started to gather speed.
His balls slapped at her arse. She wound her legs around his waist and jerked back at him with each thrust. With clawed fingers, she raked them down through the skin on his shoulders as she had done the first time they’d made love. A long, deep groan left Duke above her, and his movements became faster. The bond between them was now so strong that she could feel his urgency not to come before she did. Under her bare feet, she could feel his butt cheeks flex as he moved.
“Come, princess. Come for me.” He moaned. She flexed her vagina muscles, and he groaned again. “Fuck!” He slammed into her one more time, as he came just as she did. Her walls clamped down on his cock and milked it for all its worth.
Duke made love to her slowly, again and again, after that. He made good on his word that he would find a way to make her rest. When she woke a few hours later, she was well rested and very much sated. Her tiny little man—the future of the pack—was one today. She placed a hand over her stomach where another growing pup resided in her, glad that this time her pregnancy would be a whole lot slower.
Sitting up, Raven did as she always did—glanced at the small place on the wall that was now plastered and repainted. A place where this time last year a hole was created by a gun. She’d come so close to losing everything that day.
Shivering, Raven shook off her reverie and stood, glad to be alive. It was time to see her boy and mate. A party awaited for Nova’s first birthday. Marigold would be there too; Raven had sent her an invitation to join them. Although she’d spoken to her friend several times since being home, she still missed her.
“Hey, sleepyhead.” Duke’s voice startled her.
She looked up to see him standing at the doorway. “Yeah, I wonder why I slept so long.”
He chuckled and walked across the bedroom and pulled her into his arms. “You slept though.” He ran a finger underneath one of her eyes. “I don’t like seeing the dark patches under these,” he mused. “They look better now.” He leaned down and kissed each eye. “I came to tell you that Marigold is here. I just escorted her to the hall. Nova is with her, and the waiting pack.”
“Waiting?” Raven frowned, confused.
“For you, silly.” Duke chuckled.
Raven blew out a breath. “That’s your fault, not mine.”
“It takes two to tango.”
Together, Raven and Duke walked hand in hand, side by side, to their son’s first birthday party. Yes, it’s good to be alive, Raven thought.
