The maître d’ was nice, showing her to her chair. She got a thrill when Drake pushed the man out of the way to help her in her seat first.
“I’ve never been to a place like this before, Drake.”
“Good. I’m glad to be the first to give you something like this.”
She didn’t respond as the wine menu was placed in front of Drake. Christy listened to him ordering, trying to hide her giggles at how easy it was to him.
“What is it?”
“I wouldn’t have the first clue what to pick.” She locked her hands together in her lap aware of how far out of her league he actually was. This was the kind of life he was used to while she didn’t have any idea what to do.
“Neither did I when I started out. It comes down to taste. I know what I like and what I don’t like.” He reached across the table “Give me your hand.”
She stared at his open palm. His hands were so much bigger than hers.
Placing her hand in his, she watched as he drew it up to his lips, kissing along her knuckles.
“You’re nervous, and there’s no reason to be.”
“Drake, you’re having dinner with your PA.”
“I’m having dinner with the woman I’m going to take home and fuck by the end of the night.”
Her heart jumped within her chest.
“You like that, don’t you?”
“Drake?”
“You’re wet for me. You want my dick inside your pussy.”
She pressed her thighs together, glancing around the room to make sure no one heard him.
“I’m not speaking loudly, Christy. No one can hear me. We’re having a private conversation.”
“Private and personal.” She licked her dry lips about to answer. “Yes, I’m—”
She stopped as the waiter poured them each a glass of wine. “Will that be all, sir?”
“Yes. I’ll call you over when I’m ready to order.”
The menus for the food were already on the table. Drake didn’t let go of her hand. When they were alone, his gaze was back on her again.
“You were about to tell me if you were wet?”
“Yes. I’m wet for you.”
“We’re going to have a wonderful meal, talk about each other, and just have some fun.”
“I don’t recall you spending a lot of time just having fun.”
His hand tightened around hers. “Then show me how.”
“I wouldn’t know either. You see, I work for a dominating boss, and he always likes to have me on call for when he needs to work.” She bit her lip.
“Really? He sounds like a total asshole.”
“He can be, but at least I get paid well. I can’t complain about the hours when he’s one of the best employers out there.”
Drake burst out laughing. “Well, I’m glad he could let you come out and play with me tonight.”
“I’m not sure I had a lot of choice in the matter.” She stared at their locked fingers. “He seems determined to surprise me.”
“Tell me about yourself.”
“What would you like to know?”
“Do you have any siblings?” he asked.
“No. I was a surprise child to my parents. They had me when my mom was forty years old. They passed away a couple of years ago, together.”
“I’m so sorry. Was that when you asked for the weekend off?”
“Yes. It wasn’t heartbreaking. I was more than ready for their death. It hurt but not as bad as it could have been. What about you?”
“I’ve got a family. I’m not close to them.”
She watched as he took a sip of his wine. “Why?”
“I wouldn’t marry the woman they picked out for me.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.” She tried to pull her hand away, but he wouldn’t let her.
“Don’t be. The woman didn’t want me either.”
“So you set out on your own and made a name for yourself?”
“I’ve always been great at business. I excelled in college, and I’ve always known what I wanted my company to be about.”
“Now you’re a forty year old millionaire who can do and say whatever he wants to without fear of repercussions.”
“I wouldn’t say that.”
“No?”
“No. You’re always happy to put me in my place.”
She stared across the table shocked to see him smiling. He looked genuine. “Are you happy to be here with me?” she asked, not really thinking about what she was asking him.
“Yes, I am. What about you?”
“Yes, I’m happy.”
“Drake?”
Christy glanced toward the person calling Drake’s name. She recognized his friend, George.
Sipping her wine she watched as Drake turned to look at the approaching man. She grabbed the menu in the hope of distracting herself from whatever conversation they were going to have.
Even looking at the food, she couldn’t help but overhear what was being said between the two.
“I thought that was you.”
“What are you doing here, George?” Drake asked.
“I’m having dinner. Hello, Christy.”
“Hello.” She offered a smile, gripping the menu tightly.
“Are you two here on a date?”
“Yes, and you’re ruining it. If you’d kindly go back to your date, I’d appreciate it.”
“Drake?”
“I mean it, George. I don’t want to hear whatever you’ve got to say. I’m on a date with Christy. Kindly leave so we can enjoy our dinner.” Drake refused to back down. Seeing the boss side of him even with his best friend made her melt at the sight. Her pussy grew slick.
“Fine. It was nice to see you both.”
Keeping her gaze on the menu, she wasn’t even tempted to get in between the two friends.
“Christy?”
“You didn’t have to send him away.”
“I wanted you all to myself.”
She looked up. “I’m here, and he’s gone. There’s nothing you need to worry about.” Christy stared past Drake’s shoulder to see George still looking toward their table. Whatever was going on in that man’s mind, he wasn’t done with them, not by a long shot.
“I think it’s time we ordered,” Drake said.
“Yes. I couldn’t drink more wine without some food to soak it up.” She stared down at the food, not understanding a word of it. “I, erm, don’t suppose you’d order for me, would you?”
“Certainly.”
He signaled the waiter over and ordered for the both of them. When the man was gone Drake informed her that he’d ordered the steak dinner with garlic potatoes, and vegetables.
“Sounds delicious.”
“Please, do not let George’s presence interrupt our evening.”
“I’m your PA. I’m sure he has a lot of questions.”
“I don’t care what he has to say or think. I’m happy to be here with you.” She couldn’t look away as he took hold of her hand, locking their fingers together. When they fucked he did it a lot, keeping her beneath him.
“Why are you with me? You could have any woman on the planet, and yet you’re here, with me. It doesn’t make sense.”
“My dick is only hard for you, Christy. Tell me if you want another man right now and I’ll walk away, your job still available.”
“You know there isn’t.” He kept her busy to the point a relationship wouldn’t work.
“Then stop questioning why we’re together. It feels good. We’re not hurting anyone. I want to be here.”
“I want to be here, too.”
“Then enjoy it ‘cause I know I am.” He stroked his fingers over her pulse. “And by the end of dinner I hope to have you ready to take my cock any way I want you to take it.”
“Are you trying to seduce me?”
“Baby, you’re already seduced. I’ve got you right where I want you.”
Picking up her wine, she raised the glass. “To seduc
tion.”
“To being seduced.”
They clinked their glasses. Christy didn’t think it was possible, but she actually enjoyed spending time with him.

“Did you always want to be a businessman in charge of your own people?” Christy asked.
Drake was going crazy as she licked the chocolate from her bottom lip. The meal was a raging success, and Drake, shocking himself, didn’t want it to end. He wasn’t in a rush to get her upstairs to silence her with his dick. She didn’t talk about gossip or the latest fashion trends. They’d talked about everything. He was surprised to find they had similar taste in books and film. She could even hold a conversation about food without starting in on the latest diet.
“I knew I didn’t want to be controlled by anyone. I like to be the one giving the orders.”
“You do it well.” She closed her eyes, moaning. “This mousse is the nicest I’ve ever tried. It really is delicious. Here, try some.” She presented the spoon to his lips.
Opening up, he licked the chocolate off the spoon. “Lovely.”
He’d settled on a delicious strawberry cheesecake while Christy asked for anything with chocolate. Drake wasn’t completely blind when it came to the woman before him. He’d have to have been under a rock to not recognize her love of chocolate. Christy was changing him, and it hadn’t started from the moment they fucked. It had been before then.
“Could you give me one moment?” he said, leaving the table.
“No, take all the time in the world.” She smiled before he walked away.
Entering the men’s room, he leaned on the sink, taking deep breaths he tried to gain control of … everything. His cock was rock hard, pressing against the front of his pants. It was more than just his cock. Christy was getting under his skin, making it hard for him to bring his normal aloofness to the situation. He didn’t want her to just to be another woman.
“What the hell has gotten into you?”
He opened his eyes to find George entering the bathroom. They were the only two men in the room.
“What are you talking about?”
“Christy, your PA. Seriously?”
“I’ve never interfered with your life, and I’m telling you not to do it now with mine.”
“She’s your PA. You can do much better than her. What’s wrong with the line of women waiting for you to call back?”
Spinning around, Drake grabbed the lapels of George’s jacket. “Don’t you fucking dare put her down. She’s much better than that.”
“She’s a fat PA.”
Pressing his arm across the man’s throat, Drake growled. “Say one more bad word about her and I will hurt you.”
George laughed. “She’s gotten into your head.”
“You stay away from her.”
“What’s the matter? Don’t you want to share her? There’s enough of her to go around.”
Drawing his knee up, Drake slammed it into George’s stomach. He’d never been so angry before. George was always the player, using and leaving women. Listening to him bad-mouth Christy was too much for Drake. He needed to get the bastard to stop.
“You’re not coming anywhere near Christy. She’s too damned good for you and for me. Leave her the fuck alone.”
“Or else?”
“Or else you’ll be dealing with me and I’ll break you down, George. Don’t touch what’s mine.”
“Are you even listening to yourself?”
“I don’t care.” He assembled the front of his jacket before running fingers through his hair. Christy was waiting for him.
“I’m sorry about that.”
“It’s okay. I finished my dessert. Dinner was lovely, Drake. Really lovely.”
“It’s not over yet.” He took her hand, nodding toward the maître d’. The man knew that Drake had already paid for the meal and room. He took the keys for the hotel room from the reception desk, then took Christy toward the elevator.
On the ride up the elevator he couldn’t look away. Her cheeks were flushed from the wine, and her breasts pressed against the front of the dress. Every part of her was teasing him, making him want to play with her in the elevator.
“What are you thinking?” he asked.
“That I don’t know if I can go on not liking you. My boss is the asshole, but this guy, I think I kind of like.”
He chuckled. “I must not be doing well enough if you think you can only kind of like me.”
“I don’t want to appear too easily seduced.”
The elevator pinged, and several people were waiting to get off. He nodded at them, taking Christy’s hand as he led the way toward their room.
“You really didn’t need to do this, Drake.”
“I wanted to. We’ve fucked in everything but a bed. I want to be with you, and this I figured you wouldn’t argue with.” He pressed the key into the lock, opening up the door.
“Why do you figure that?”
“This isn’t my place and it’s not yours. It’s also not my office. We’re in neutral territory.” He closed the door, watching the lock click into place.
Turning on the light, he placed his palm against her back, urging her into the room.
“It’s a beautiful place.” She moved out of his touch to go straight toward the window. “It overlooks the city.”
“I didn’t pick the room for the views.”
He picked the room because it was beautiful with a sitting room, bathroom, and large, opulent bedroom. Moving up behind her, he slid his hands around her waist.
“What did your friend have to say?”
Drake tensed up without meaning to. “I don’t know what you mean.”
“I wasn’t born yesterday. I saw him follow you into the bathroom. You didn’t look too happy even though you tried to disguise it.”
“George is not a man I ever want you to be alone with.”
“Why?”
“He’s, erm, he’s a bad seed.”
“Many women would consider you a bad seed.”
“I never entered a relationship without the woman knowing first what she was getting herself into. I’ve never misled any woman.”
“And George has?”
“He doesn’t like to always play nice or play fair.” He stared at her reflection in the mirror. Stroking the curve of her hip, he pursed his lips together.
“What is it?”
“George likes to make women fall in love with him. He’s never affected by it himself. The game of getting them to fall in love, humiliating them, and then dropping them is what he’s a master at.”
“You’ve never done that?”
“I don’t believe in making my private business public. Relationships fail once people know and they try to break it up. I’ve witnessed the nastiness of others firsthand. They set out to destroy what they can’t have.”
“What do you mean?” she asked.
He turned her head by cupping her cheek. “I’ve seen men and women tear couples apart by injecting a seed of doubt in their relationship.”
“Do you believe in love?”
“I don’t think I’m capable of loving someone, but I’ve seen it in some couples. I’ve also seen what happens when they’re destroyed. Love, it’s destructive, Christy. No one should ever fall for it.”
She smiled. “That’s a nice way of telling me you’ll never love me.”
He grew nervous. For some strange reason he wanted to refute her comment. If there was anyone he could fall in love with, it was the woman in his arms. He didn’t know if she’d ever believe it or not. She’d changed him.
“George thought he had a right to say something. I put him in his place. Don’t ever be alone with him. I mean it.” He made sure she understood.
“I won’t. I don’t see he and I needing to be alone for anything.”
Staring at her lips, Drake couldn’t wait another moment to taste her. Closing the distance, he claimed her lips, silencing any kind of protest from her.
> Chapter Eight
Christy moaned as his lips pressed against hers. Reaching up, she sank her fingers into his hair, gasping as his hand moved from her stomach up to her breast. He eased the top of her dress down, pulling the lace of the bra away, exposing her breast.
She whimpered when he teased her nipple, circling the bud with the tip of his fingers.
“You’re always so responsive,” he said, breaking from the kiss.
He turned her so her back was pressed against the windows. Biting her lip, she watched each of his movements. He stepped close to her, moving around her back. She heard the zipper followed by the loosening of her dress. The top part of her dress fell to her hips, and he removed the bra. She moved her hands so that he could easily rid her of the dress. His hands went to her hips and pulled her away from the window.
“What if someone sees?”
“Then let them see.” He shoved the dress off her hips going to the floor.
Within seconds she stood before him completely naked. She fisted her hands trying her hardest not to cover herself.
“Step out of the shoes.”
Kicking the shoes aside, she had no choice but to stare up at him now. Their heights were different from the lack of heels.
He stepped away, and he started to loosen his tie.
She didn’t say anything, watching him instead. Drake removed the tie, before unbuttoning the shirt.
“I’m going to fuck you all night long. Tomorrow you’re not going to be able to forget who you belong to.”
Biting her lip, she let out a breath, trying to stem her arousal. Drake shouldn’t have this effect on her, and yet one look from him and she was ready.
“I can see how wet you are already, baby.” His gaze went to the apex of her thighs. “Open your thighs and touch yourself.”
She opened her legs and slid her hand up the inside of her thigh.
“Put those fingers on your clit. Stroke yourself.”
Christy hesitated for a second but didn’t see the point in arguing with him. He was always bossy, and there was no way that was going to change anytime soon.
“That’s it, baby. Put those fingers on your clit.”
She touched her clit, running her finger across the nub before sliding down.
