“It’s really you,” she whispered.
Her fingers touched the cold snout and the wolf sighed. Soon, he was nuzzling her palm, encouraging her to pet him further. She hugged him around the neck, sank her face in his soft fur, and inhaled the fresh, unique scent that was Emil’s. Then, she rubbed his sides, his back, dug her fingers into the rich fur, and even pulled at his tail, although that last part earned her a displeased growl. She laughed and hugged him again.
“I can’t believe this is happening! A werewolf?! This is insane! Do you have any idea how many women out there read books about shape-shifters and all sorts of supernatural beings and dream of meeting one? Of being with one? This is the craziest thing that could have ever happened to me!” The wolf merely nodded and growled again. Apparently, when he was in this form, that was the only way Emil could communicate with her. “I have so many questions,” she continued.
She would have loved for him to turn back into his human form so she could snuggle against his chest and urge him to tell her everything, but he had other things in mind. Even though it was in the middle of the day, if he was careful, he could give her a ride high up in the mountains and back down by the road without anyone detecting them. The only real danger was for them to run into a group of hikers, but Emil’s sensitive nose would smell the humans miles away. His mind set, he leaned on his forelegs and waited until she got the message and hopped on his back.
“Please don’t go too fast,” she said. “I’ve ridden before, but my horse was really, really well trained. An angel. He wouldn’t go fast even if I wanted him to.”
Emil smirked, although on his wolf face the smirk looked frightening. He would never risk dropping her, but he had no intention of walking too slowly either. He wanted to run. He wanted to show her how it was to be free in the middle of nowhere.

Rebecca could barely remember Emil’s soft kisses and careful caresses from the night before. The way he was kneading her breasts and sucking on her nipples, one at a time, told her he was very close to devouring her. She closed her eyes and moaned when she felt his hard cock rub against her folds. She reached to grab his shoulders and urge him to enter her, but he took both her wrists in one hand and pinned them above her head. Becca arched her back and Emil bit down on her nipple.
“Please,” she whispered. “I can’t take this anymore.”
He simply grinned and bit her neck. He had been torturing her like that for what felt like hours. She was sure her whole body was covered in bruises and hickeys, and she didn’t mind. Really. She did mind that he hadn’t fucked her yet. He had eaten her pussy, sent her over the edge twice, turned her on her stomach so he could devour her generous ass and slap it red, then turned her on her back again to attack her breasts. She felt like a puppet in his hands. The night before, she had taken control and showed him what she wanted him to do to her body, but tonight was different. Tonight, Emil was determined to have his way with her and make her enjoy every minute of it. Her body was burning with anticipation, her clit was throbbing, and her pussy was soaked, ready to welcome the thick piece of flesh that would make Rebecca see stars.
He let go of her wrists, but she didn’t move her arms from where he had placed them. She rather liked his forceful, domineering side. Come to think of it, she could get used to being with a man who knew how to handle her, knew what to do to her to make her orgasm over and over again. In fact, she loved the idea of finally having a man who didn’t need a hand-drawn map to find his way around her curves. She yelped when he turned her around again and took hold of her hips.
“I hope you’re ready, because I won’t hold back this time.”
“Don’t. Please don’t hold back.” She swallowed hard, her throat suddenly dry. He hadn’t let her anywhere near his cock, and she was dying to taste his seed. At the same time, she was dying to feel him inside her. Tough choice. Again. It would always be a tough choice with Emil.
He used two fingers to part her folds and circle her clit a couple of times before slipping them inside her hot cavern. She moaned and pushed against his fingers, eager to be filled. He removed them and smeared her juices around her entrance, making sure she was nice and wet before he positioned his engorged head and pushed in. He knew she wanted him to take her fast and hard, but he had to make sure he wouldn’t hurt her. He entered her quickly, and sighed when her pussy stretched to accommodate him. There was something about Rebecca’s body that drove him mad with lust and… something more. It was as if her curves had been made to fit his rough edges.
“Oh yes… I’ve been waiting for this all day. Move.”
He slapped her ass and hummed in appreciation at the small ripples that traveled up her flesh.
“Do it again,” she moaned. The feel of his impressive cock stuffing her full combined with the sharp sting of the light slapping could almost make her orgasm. The sound of a second slap filled the room, then of a third. “Oh yes! Fuck me!”
That was all he needed to pull his cock out and drive it back in. He did it again and again, picking up the pace and thrusting deep inside her, the round, swollen head almost hitting her cervix. He truly hoped he wasn’t hurting her. Her moans had become screams, and he was sure by this time the whole inn could hear her.
“So good, so good…” she managed to say. “That’s it! Right there!”
His nails dug into her flesh as he held her hips in place. She adjusted her position and her chest ended up on the mattress while she sank her head in a pillow and raised her hips to give him the best access. Her screams came out a bit muffled, but were still quite loud.
“Rebecca, my love,” he whispered. “I love your body… You gorgeous goddess…” He looked at her ass as he pounded her, and his wolf howled inside his chest at the sight of her flesh dancing in the rhythm of his thrusts. “Your beautiful, beautiful body…” His cock moved in and out of her at a speed humans couldn’t reach even if they were athletes. As he had thought, his Becca could take his physical strength with no problems. He wasn’t using all of it, of course, but he wasn’t holding himself back either. Tonight, his beast would take all he wanted.
“I’m close…” She squeezed her eyes shut and focused on the pressure building between her thighs. His cock kept hitting a particularly sensitive spot inside her, and Rebecca bit down on the pillow to keep herself from screaming even louder. “I’m coming, Emil… Oh, I’m coming…”
With a grunt, he came too, coating her throbbing walls with his milky seed. He held her hips up as he thrust a few more times, releasing long, thick streams at the entrance of her womb, until he was done. Her pussy was still milking him as he pulled out.
With his help, she turned around and collapsed on the bed. Eyes fixed on the ceiling, lips parted, she struggled to clear her mind and chase away the fog her third orgasm for the night had left between her heated temples. Then, her vision was filled by Emil’s handsome face as he leaned over her.
“Don’t tell me you’re tired,” he said.
She smiled. “Just a bit thirsty.”
He jumped off the bed and brought her a glass of water. She sat on the edge of the mattress and drank it in one go, forgetting she had to breathe between gulps. When she was done, she placed the glass on the nightstand and grabbed Emil’s hips. His cock was already hard, jutting from between his strong thighs, pointing right at her. She wrapped her fingers around it and pumped it slowly while looking up into his dark green eyes.
“I want you to come in mouth this time,” she said.
“How could I ever refuse such an offer?”
She took her time to lick the underside of his shaft, suck on the head, and nibble on his balls when she got to them. Finally getting tired of her own game, she took him deep into her throat and started bobbing her head, massaging his sack with her other hand. Soon, he was shooting streams of seed on her tongue, and Becca made sure to catch every drop. She loved the way his abs tensed when he came, and she felt powerful and in control when he moaned uncontr
ollably and whispered her name as he filled her mouth. She cleaned him thoroughly, but just as she was getting ready to ask him if he had liked it, she found herself thrown on the bed, face down, as he mounted her from behind. He entered her quickly and fucked her hard and fast until she screamed in pleasure and her pussy clenched around his cock in orgasm.
CHAPTER FIVE
It had been a month since Emil had last gone to his adoptive parents’ house. Since they died, he had even tried to avoid the street itself. He opened the door for Rebecca and took in a sharp breath before he stepped over the threshold himself.
“Wow! It’s beautiful!”
“Yeah, my parents loved the traditional Transylvanian design.”
She had insisted she wanted to see the house where he grew up, and he couldn’t refuse her. He knew he’d eventually have to accept that he would never be able to say “no” to this woman. The air in the living room was a bit stale, so he went to open the window.
“I can’t believe you want to sell this beauty!”
The Weavers’ house was just a couple of houses away from the inn. Emil’s adoptive parents had wanted to separate their business from their family life as much as possible, which was rather difficult in Segesvar. Most inn owners lived in the same building where they hosted their guests, but then again, not most inn owners were as wealthy as the Weavers had been. And Emil had inherited all they had worked so hard to achieve. Jacob and Maria Weaver didn’t have any children or relatives, which had been exactly why his real parents had chosen to leave Emil with them before they tried to run away from the Calimala Guild.
“It breaks my heart that I have to do it, but I can’t live here, Becca.”
She heard the pain in his voice and immediately snuggled against his chest. He hugged her tightly and she sighed in his embrace. She loved how his thick arms and massive body could envelop her completely. Never before had she felt so protected in a man’s arms.
“You don’t have to live here, but you don’t have to sell it either.”
“No. I thought this through. The best option is to sell both businesses and the house. With the money, I’ll find those bastards even if I have to look for them all over America.”
She kept silent. He had yet to tell her why he wanted to find the Calimala, but Becca was a clever woman. She was almost sure it had something to do with his real parents, so she didn’t want to press him.
“Come. Let me show you my room.”
As she followed him upstairs, she saw the walls were filled with pictures of himself and his adoptive parents. In most of the pictures, Jacob and Maria Weaver were already pretty old, which meant Emil had come to live with them long after they were in their fifties. He led her down a dark corridor and through the last door on the right. Emil’s old bedroom was small and cozy, and it looked as if it hadn’t been lived in for years.
“When I started high school, I had to leave Segesvar for months at a time, then I entered college and I rarely came home. I lived in the closest biggest city for about seven years and I came home for holidays and, sometimes, on weekends. I helped my parents during the summer holidays, which was great because it’s the season when Segesvar is really busy, and then I went into the family business after I finished college.”
“I see…”
“Even then, I rarely spent my nights here.” He chuckled when he felt Becca tense. “Ever since I was a child, I loved turning and running around. My parents… my real parents taught me how to control my instincts so that I would have a normal life both as a man and as a wolf. When I didn’t feel like sleeping in a bed, I’d go out, turn, hunt a little then find a place to sleep.”
“Oh. Weren’t your adoptive parents afraid you might get lost? Or… weren’t they afraid the Calimala would find you?”
“They were, but they knew they couldn’t stop me. They were the only human friends my parents had had, and they felt it was their responsibility to take care of me and make sure the assassins never found out about my existence. However, I was, and still am, rather safe. As far as I know, there are no other shape-shifters left in the Carpathian Mountains. The Calimala caught all of them. My parents were the last ones, so the Guild moved on to places where they actually had something to hunt.”
She turned to look into his eyes, a pleading expression on her round, pretty face.
“If you’re safe here, then why do you want to sell everything and leave? Revenge won’t change anything. It won’t bring your parents back.”
“See, this time you’re wrong. Revenge won’t bring my parents back, but it will change everything.” He started rummaging through a drawer. “The problem is that shape-shifters, and all supernatural people for that matter, never fought back. When Arte di Calimala started hunting them down, they chose to hide in the shadows. We never wanted to hurt anyone. Yes, vampires need human blood to survive, but they never kill their victims. Not to feed, anyway. Sure, there are rotten apples here and there, as there are rotten apples among humans, but we’re not killers, we’re not the enemy of humanity. I can only speak in the name of the wolf-shifters, of course, but I can tell you this: we didn’t choose to be born this way. We didn’t want to be faster and stronger, to live a longer life.”
“You live longer than us?”
He finally found what he had been looking for and turned to her. “Yes. Vampires live forever, as you already know from fiction.” He smiled. “Shape-shifters don’t, but we do have longer life spans and age slower.”
She studied him from head to toe before asking the question she had never thought to ask. “How old are you, exactly?”
He ran a hand through his dark blonde hair. “Oh! Are you sure you want to know? You might come to the conclusion that I’m too old for you.”
She cocked an eyebrow. “When it comes to you, I’m used to having my mind blown, so shoot.”
“56. For your information, I’m pretty young for a shifter.”
“Holy shit! 56?!” She clapped her hands in excitement. “I would have hardly given you 30.”
“Well, consider yourself lucky. I’m going to look like this for a while.”
She nodded in satisfaction. “I don’t mind. I don’t mind that at all.”
He closed the distance between them and showed her what he had taken out of the drawer. It was a picture of two people, a woman and a man, and a young boy between them. They both had one hand on each of the boy’s shoulders.
“These are my parents. My real parents.”
The photo was old and in black and white, but Becca could see the resemblance. Emil had his mother’s eyes and his father’s nose and strong jaw.
“Such beautiful people…”
“Yes. Generally, all shape-shifters are good looking. My mother, though, she was amazing! Just look at that long, silky hair. I still remember the smell of her lavender shampoo.”
Rebecca took the photo from his hand when she saw his fingers were shaking. She raised his hand to her lips and kissed it tenderly. When she looked up into his eyes to tell him how sorry she was, she was taken aback by the tears she saw there. She squeezed his hand and looked back at the picture.
“I’m sorry…”
“It’s okay.” He was silent for a long while. Eventually, he took the picture from her and placed it in his back pocket. Now that he had taken it out of the drawer after an awful lot of years, he didn’t want to put it back.
Rebecca noticed his gesture and an idea took shape in her mind. There was really no need for Emil to sell everything that had belonged to the Weavers. She just needed to show him that.
“I understand that you want to find the murderers and make them pay, but please don’t run away from this.” She motioned to their surroundings. “This is your life. These are your roots. I know how much it hurts to be under this roof right now, but you have to believe me when I tell you this is where your strength comes from. It comes from the memories trapped between these walls, from what your real parents wanted you to have, and what your ad
optive parents struggled to offer you: love, a normal childhood, a home. You owe it to them to preserve these things they have all worked so hard to build.”
Emil couldn’t look at her. He rubbed his eyes and tried to hide the fact that her words were affecting him so much. He felt slightly embarrassed for having allowed himself to be so weak in front of the woman he wanted to impress and protect.
“Please don’t sell anything. Think about it: your parents wouldn’t have wanted you to do this.”
“I don’t know, Becca, I don’t know…”
She squeezed his arm with both hands. There was no way she could circle his bicep with only one hand.
“Also, you don’t have to do this alone. I’m here for you. I live in New York. We can leave Segesvar together and start looking for the Calimala there. You never know… Maybe they established their headquarters in New York. It’s a big city, so why not? And if you say most shape-shifters are in the US now, maybe you can find some of them and… This might sound insane, but it’s an idea that just came to me: you could create your own guild, or… whatever. Order. Call it any way you like. The point is: you really don’t have to do this alone.”
Emil looked into her eyes, confusion and disbelief gracing her features. “No, that’s out of the question.”
Her heart jumped in her chest. “What? Why?”
“I can’t let you help me. You saw what happened to my parents. Becca, that’s exactly what the Calimala does to humans who associate themselves with shape-shifters.”
She furrowed her brows and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Hold it right there, mister! I’m no damsel in distress! I can help you, do you hear me? I know New York, I know the US and how things work there. Hell! I might be just an accountant, but I have clients who owe me favors and will move mountains for me. Attorneys, CEOs, bankers… you name it. I. Can. Help.”
