Can't Leave It Alone Page 19

She fell back into her couch as her body went cold. She just knew that Desmond wasn’t pulling a stunt on her birthday.

  ******

“Look, daddy!” Demond shouted as he jumped into their sparkling pool.

“I see you, man.” Desmond chuckled, as he took a swallow from his beer.

It was a hot Saturday and the family was just relaxing by the pool. They needed this family day, so there were no outsiders invited. It was just him, Ryan, and their kids.

“I don’t know why my sons love the water.” Ryan shook her head as she sipped a strawberry daiquiri spiked with pineapple rum. She was lying back lounging on their patio furniture.

“They’re like their daddy. That’s all.” Desmond grinned as he eyed Ryan. She was rocking the hell out of a two-piece Burberry swim suit.

“Yeah, okay.” Ryan nodded as she placed her drink on the ground. That was her first cup, and she was already beginning to feel nauseous. As of late, she couldn’t tolerate any alcohol, and it was working her nerves. She enjoyed getting that buzzed feeling, but her body was betraying her.

As she took a long stretch her breasts threatened to escape her top. When she purchased the swim suit it fit her just right. But now it seemed too snug.

Desmond studied Ryan closely. Her body was looking nice and voluptuous. Although, she’d gotten thicker since having the twins, she’d still been a tight size eight. But now she looked like she could fit in a ten or twelve and Ryan never was the type to have fluctuating weight. He recalled her picking up weight when she was pregnant, and this made him wonder.

Ryan looked up and noticed him staring at her belly. “Why you looking at me like that?”

He shook his head. “What? I can’t look at you now?”

“No, it just seemed like you were thinking something…about me.”

He stared directly into her eyes. “Maybe I was.”

  “About what?”

He grinned. “I’ma keep it to myself.” He didn’t want to offend her by stating that she looked pregnant. If he was wrong, she’d take that as a direct insult. If she was truly pregnant, he knew that she wouldn’t be able to hide it for long.

“Whatever.” She rolled her eyes, playfully.

“You getting in the water?” he asked.

She poked out her bottom lip. “Naw.” She shook her head.

“Why? You too cute, or something?”

“Shit, I might be.” She patted her hair.

  “Oh, yeah?” he stood up.

She cut her eyes at him. “What chu about to do?”

  He closed in on her.

“Desmond you bett…” she got out as he lifted her out of her seat. “Put me down.” She flung her legs. “I just got my hair did!”

“Do it look like I care?” he laughed as he ran with her in his arms. He jumped right into the water.

“Agh!” she shouted as her long mane floated behind her in the water. “I’ma fuck you up!”

“Ha ha!” Both twins taunted her as they splashed water in her face.

“I’ma whip yall’s ass.” She threatened.

“No she aint.” Desmond assured the kids.

The twins continued to tease Ryan, until she escaped Desmond’s grip and went after them. “You can’t catch me!” Little De-De shouted.

“I got you, boy.” She gritted as she grabbed him and dunked him underneath the water.

  “I’m sorry!” he cried out.

  “You’re what? I can’t hear you.”

  “I’m sorry.” He laughed hysterically.

“That’s what I thought.” She boasted.

Suddenly, she felt Desmond grab her from behind. “Leave him alone.”

“Let me go.” She kicked her legs, splashing water everywhere.

  “Stop.”

  “Let me goooo!”

“Nu-uh.” He shook his head as he bit her neck.

  “I said, stoooooop!”

He chuckled. “Naw, you made me do this.”

It was now eleven o’clock and Jada was about to lose her mind. She hadn’t heard from Desmond and his phone was still off. Never in all the years they’d dealt with each other had he disappointed her like this. Even though, he wasn’t always the most considerate, he’d never missed a special occasion. This was proof that things were definitely different between them.

In all her life she’d never felt more inadequate. She was always known as the pretty yellow bone that never had trouble with men. Her problems were keeping them off of her. And now Desmond had transformed her confidence into desperation. She was desperate for his love and affection, and he was so stingy with it.

She blankly stared at the walls, praying for the hellish nightmare to be over. This wasn’t her life. She wasn’t the chick now sitting and waiting on someone else’s man. She wasn’t the broad too hung up to move on. This wasn’t her. Now more than ever she despised Ryan. She was responsible for all the hurt and pain she was enduring. She needed to pay.

As Jada sat and thought, she realized that both Ryan and Desmond needed to feel her raft. Obviously, he was taking her kindness for weakness, but he had her wrong. She was a thinker, and was willing to sacrifice a battle in order to win the war.

Yeah, Ryan had the upper hand now, but the tables were bound to turn. And when that happened she would make sure that she’d step on and squash the very existence of their relationship.

Meanwhile, across town Ryan and Desmond were enjoying a late night swim. They’d gotten out earlier to put the kids to bed, and were now back in the water for a little adult fun.

Ryan floated on her back while her legs were wrapped firmly around Desmond’s waist. The water was glowing underneath them from the illuminating lights.

Mariah Carey’s voice serenaded them from the stereo system. “I was too naïve to love you right. But now…if I would have the opportunity I would do anything because my heart still believes…Baby, you could be miiiine again.”

Desmond gazed down at her with love in his eyes. He wasn’t the typical mushy nigga, but it was always different with Ryan. She made him feel like nothing else in the world mattered. He’d forsake all for her.

“When love was yours and mine!” Ryan happily sang.

Desmond smiled, loving when she sang to him

Ryan gazed at the stars in the clear sky. At the moment life was perfect. She had the love of her life back, and there they were; together. She felt like the sky was the limit and just about anything was possible. The world was hers.

Thoughts of Jada only entered Desmond’s mind for a brief second and he quickly dismissed it. He didn’t feel any guilt. He’d told her time and time again that they were done. From that point on all bets were off. He didn’t have to be a man of his words, and she was just another broad that received time when he was willing to give it. If she expected more that was her bad.

Ryan arched her back as he pushed her up against the wall of the pool. He slowly kissed her stomach, sending chills down her spine.

Desmond loved the feel of her grinding against his dick. She found the perfect position as he rested between her vaginal lips.

Ryan enjoyed the friction on her clit. She moved her body like a snake, getting herself off.

De-De shook his head. “Naw, that’s cheating.” He pulled his midsection back.

She lifted her head. “What are you doing?”

“What are you doing?” he countered.

“Stop playing.” She whined as she pulled him in, only for him pull back again.

“I aint playing.” He claimed, as he gripped her bikini and yanked it down her thighs.

“Um um.” She shook her head. “We aint getting naked out here.”

“Says who?” he asked as he successfully pulled her bottom off.

  “Me.”

“Oh, yeah?” he untied her halter, allowing it to slip into the water. “Come here.” He growled as he pulled her closer. He tugged at his swimming trunks until they were at his knees.
And then he positioned himself, before slowly sliding into her.

“Damn.” She bit her bottom lip as she wrapped her legs tighter around him.

“Uh huh.” He smiled as he leaned his forehead on hers, while pumping into her. He pushed her thighs open, allowing himself to venture deeper. The water splashed around them as they fucked at a feverish pace.

“Yeah, fuck me just like that.” Her eyes rolled into the back of her head. “Yeah!” He rotated his hips into her. “Give me that dick. Fuck me harder!”

“Fuck you harder, huh?” he gritted as he pummeled into the pussy. “Like this? Huh?”

“Yessss daddy.” She hissed as she scratched his back. She hopped up and down his dick.

  “Damn, this pussy good.”

“Yeah?” she panted as she tightened her vaginal muscles around him. “How good is it to you, baby?”

“It’s so good…it’s so good that I want to fuck you until you give me two more twins.”

“Oh yeah? You wanna shoot some babies up in the pussy, daddy?”

  “Hell…hell yeah.” He moaned.

“Umm.” She moaned as she stared at him, while he stared back.

  “I love you.”

“I love you tooooo.” Her head fell back as she enjoyed him hitting her spot.

“Look at you.” He smiled. “You like that?”

“Yes, daddy. Just keep fucking me.”

  “I promise that I will.”

Time seemed to stand still as they made love under the moonlight. Things seemed so magnetic, and they couldn’t get enough of each other. All through the night they exchanged sex faces. Neither of them could think of a better way to end a beautiful day. To Desmond Ryan’s pussy couldn’t have been better, and he thoroughly enjoyed her on Jada’s birthday.

  Chapter 16

Four long months had passed since Jada’s birthday, and she was now sitting at home alone. She was set to go into labor any day now, and she hadn’t seen Desmond’s face in days.

She sat thinking of the way she’d been treated throughout the course of her pregnancy. When he missed her birthday all he offered was a pitiful “my bad”. Soon after she was on her back, forgiving him for his misdeeds. She had no clue that he was starting a new trend of disappointing her. He’d promise this and promise that, but never made good. He hadn’t been to anymore doctor visits, and the damn president of the United States was easier to catch up with.

For a little while she tried to tell herself that he was just hustling in the streets. Besides, he’d stop by every once in a while and crawl between her thighs, to satisfy her. He was still supporting her financially, and she knew that maintaining two households could put a dent in any man’s pocket. She believed her theory until she sat with Tericka at Red Lobster.

The incident had happened three weeks ago and she could still vividly remember it in her mind.

“So, why didn’t you come with me to the concert?” Jada asked her friend as they waited for their food. A few of her cousins had come down to see Drake live in concert, and Tericka pulled out at the last minute.

A look of guilt washed over Tericka’s face. “I had forgot that I was invited to this party. Tutu was amped about me going, so you know how that shit goes.”

Jada pursed her lips. She hated that since the drama with Ryan had gone down she’d been shunned by Tericka’s friends. Anytime there was a party she wasn’t invited, and usually Tericka attended them, anyway. She couldn’t be mad because Tericka had known them first, but she didn’t like feeling like a loser. In Baton Rouge she was always a part of the in-crowd.

“Well, are you still riding with me to Louisiana on the 26th?” she asked, deciding to change the subject.

“Umm…I don’t know, Jada. I’m supposed to go to a baby shower.”

“A baby shower? You never mentioned any of those broads being pregnant. Unless it’s one of your family members, and in that case count me in.”

Tericka took a sip of her daiquiri, trying to get her words together. “Uh…it’s one of them, and I know you wouldn’t want to come.”

“Who?” Jada asked with a raised brow. The only two people she really had a problem with were Ryan and her bitch ass cousin, Dina.

“Well…” Tericka paused. “I promised Tutu that I would stay out of this.”

“What?” Jada asked confused. “Out of what? I just asked you who was pregnant.”

“Shit.” Tericka sighed. “Fuck it. It’s Ryan’s baby shower. Now there, I said it.”

Jada’s heart dropped to her stomach. “What did you say?”

  “Ryan’s pregnant…with twin girls.”

All of a sudden she was lightheaded. “Come again. She’s pregnant again?”

Tericka eyed Jada hoping that she hadn’t upset her too badly. “Yeah.”

“So, so, so, how far along is she?” she asked seemingly out of breath.

“I don’t know, six seven months.”

“Seven months?! So, you’ve known this for a while?”

  Tericka nodded.

“And why didn’t you tell me?”

“Cause I didn’t want to see your feelings hurt.”

“Wow.” Jada stressed. “So, that’s why the nigga has so little time for me. He got two bitches pregnant at the same time.”

Tericka sighed. “Yeah, it is fucked up.” Really there were so many things that she wasn’t saying. She’d been there to witness Ryan get treated like a queen. Desmond had been so supportive to her throughout the pregnancy, and Tericka knew that Jada would be crushed if she knew the truth. It was definitely out of sight out of mind with him, and he lived as if Jada never existed.

“I can’t believe that nigga.” Tears streamed down her face. “He got me looking like a muthafuckin fool. What the fuck is so special about that bitch?”

“Jada, maybe it’s because she doesn’t allow him to walk all over her. She’s got a backbone and obviously he gives her the utmost respect. Every man aint gonna be all things to every woman. Maybe you’ve gotten to see what I’ve seen. Maybe back in the day you noticed how he treated her, and wanted that for yourself. Maybe you didn’t realize that maybe it took her to bring that side out of him.” Tericka offered, as politely as she could.

Overtime, she’d learned that men will be men, but when they meet their match they switch up the game. The woman deemed “the one” taps into a part of a man that other women never could touch. Outsiders look at this with envy, so instead of finding the one for them, they try to take what already belongs to someone else. Stealing other people’s happiness never works out in the end.

“I fucking hate him.” Jada cried.

She never did eat her dinner that night, but hurried home to call Desmond. He came over and she confronted him. When she pressed for answers he gave off a non-caring demeanor.

“Why the fuck does it matter?” he asked as leaned against a wall, his hands in his pockets.

“Cause I want to fucking know!” she shouted.

He was unmoved. “Well, it really aint none of your business, but since you asked…yeah, she’s pregnant.”

“And it was a mistake, right?” She needed to hear him say yes.

He smirked as he shook his head. “If that’s what will make you feel better, then go with that.”

  “No, I want to know!”

He nodded. “Okay. I wanted to get her pregnant. Are you happy now?”

The tears continued to fall. “How could you do this to me?”

He gave her look of confusion. “Do what to you? I told you that I was going back to her. That aint changed. Just because in your mind, you seeing shit how you want it to be matters none in reality. I’m at where I’m at. If you don’t like the situation then don’t deal with it. I aint putting no gun to your head.”

At that very moment she wanted to grab a knife and plunge it into his cold heart. “Do you not care about my feelings at all, Desmond?”

He looked up at the ceiling and then to her. “Look, I care about you, okay
.” He gazed into her eyes. “It’s just not enough for me to walk away from her. I know that you pregnant and your emotions are out of whack. That’s why I should have used better judgment. I should’ve left this shit alone. But now I know better.” He nodded. “So, from now on don’t call me unless it’s pertaining to the baby.” He headed for the door. “I can’t do this shit no more, Jada. And I sincerely hope that you move on.”

She watched him walk out on her again, and she cried herself a river. Her soul was crying out to him, but he stepped all over it. He didn’t love her and that was the dreadful truth.

Now, today was the day of Ryan’s baby shower. Through conversation with Tericka she’d discovered that it would be held in the West area right off Westheimer. The venue was very upscale, and she knew that it cost a pretty penny to use the space. Tericka had talked about the planning involved in the event, infuriating her. There hadn’t been a huge celebration for her baby shower. As always Desmond was a no show and only the family that came in from Louisiana was in attendance.

As she sat there she became bitterer by the second. She was so tired of Desmond blatantly ignoring her and her baby. He was one selfish bastard, and she couldn’t take it anymore. That day was the day that she was about to rain on Desmond and Ryan’s parade.

  ******

Ryan stepped into the posh building, taking everything in. She couldn’t believe how extravagant the décor was. Raven and Trinity had definitely gone all out for this day. There was a chocolate fountain where chocolate covered strawberries rested at the bottom. Each table in the room had very elaborate pink and silver centerpieces adorned with white orchids. Everything was just done to absolute perfection.

“Wow.” She stressed. “This is nice.” She smiled, looking around in awe.

“I know.” Dina agreed as she totted in a huge pink gift bag.

Ryan tried to peek in the bag. “What you got there?”

Dina scooted the bag away. “None of your business.”
