CARSON’S BREATHING INCREASED AS she noticed Madison walking towards the front door through the window. She headed to the door and opened it before Madison could call or press the doorbell. The smile on her lips made one form on Madison’s, as well.
“Missed me that much, huh?”
Carson grinned and pulled Madison into the house before placing a kiss soundly on her lips.
“I really did. Where were you?”
Madison kicked the door close with her heel and placed her hands on Carson’s shoulder. Pulling Carson closer, she rested her forehead against the woman’s chin.
“Nowhere important. How’s job hunting going?”
Carson pressed her nose against Madison’s hair and inhaled deeply.
“Not good. Is it too early for a glass of wine?”
Madison looked up and grinned.
“Never. Pour me one.”
Carson headed into the kitchen and Madison followed behind.
“Have you written anything yet?”
Madison leaned against the kitchen island and shrugged. She let her eyes roam over Carson’s long legs, and took a few prolonged seconds to stare at her ass in those tight fitted trousers.
“I’ve got something in the making.”
Carson grabbed two wine glasses from the cupboard and a chilled bottle of red wine from the fridge.
“Oh… are you going to give me a peek?”
Madison sank her teeth into her bottom lip and shook her head.
“Not until the thought process is in line. I’ll show you when it’s ready for criticism.”
“I’m not going to critique, babe.”
Madison arched her brow and took a sip of her wine.
“Hm… sure you won’t.”
“That was one time.”
Carson pressed her lips against the rim of her wine glass and sighed. A smile tugged on her lips.
“One time, on a few occasions. What did you say about that poem I scribbled down? Oh, right, it’s lacking appropriate word choice, and it doesn’t rhyme.”
Carson placed her wine glass down and moved over to Madison. She placed her hands on Madison’s small waist and kissed her forehead.
“I give observations.”
Madison chuckled and draped her arms over Carson’s back.
“I went to see Victoria.”
Carson leaned backward so that she could look Madison sceptically in the eyes.
“And?”
Madison shrugged.
“She’s lost her mind completely.”
Carson pursed her lips and looked to the side. She wasn’t sure how to feel, and what to say.
“Should I be worrying about anything?”
Madison’s eyes widened and she immediately shook her head.
“Closure, that’s all. I needed to see her again. Everything happened so rushed that I didn’t get to say everything that was on my mind to her.”
“Did you, then?”
Madison tightened her hold around Carson and placed a kiss on her chest.
“Yes, I did.”
“Madison, there’s something I haven’t told you…”
“Paul Fletcher?”
Carson gulped.
“Yeah, how did you…”
“Victoria.”
Carson smiled when Madison’s soft eyes didn’t harden. It meant that she wasn’t upset.
“He’s probably in Hawaii sipping on a coconut.”
Madison tilted her head to the side and shrugged.
“I don’t care where he is. As long as he’s far away from us.”
“You’re not upset. At all?”
Carson studied Madison’s facial expression carefully.
“You had your reasons. And he did the right thing in the end, didn’t he?”
Carson nodded.
“He did.”
“Then, I won’t press charges. He can come back from his little vacation.”
Madison wiggled her eyebrows.
“Not sure how I’ll get in contact. I mean, he just ran without looking back.”
“Does that bother you?”
Carson had never particularly liked Paul Fletcher, not even when they were sleeping together.
“Not in the very least.”
“You sure?”
Madison narrowed her gaze. She could sense there was more about Paul Fletcher than what Carson wasn’t letting on.
“Is your sixth sense tingling?”
“Maybe a little bit.”
“Does it bother you that I’ve been with men before?”
Madison’s eyes furrowed, and her suspicions were correct.
“No. As long as you don’t anymore.”
“Good. I only want you.”
Madison trailed her finger along Carson’s shoulder blade.
“I don’t usually bed straight girls, you know.”
“I’m not straight.”
Madison raised a brow.
“You sure about that?”
Carson nodded.
“Surest thing in my life, babe.”

CARSON LOOKED AROUND THE crowded room. It was the opening of her publishing house, and she couldn’t be more excited. After Madison had completed her new book, they’d gotten the idea for Carson to be the publisher, and from there, the idea of something even bigger. Carson had always been a great editor, but also an exceptional business woman.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
Madison draped her arm over Carson’s back and placed a kiss on the woman’s cheek.
“It is.”
“Any new clients so far? I saw you talking to that hot redhead.”
Carson turned her head to look at her girlfriend.
“She’s only interested in being a customer, if you were wondering.”
Madison scoffed.
“She was obviously interested in more than that.”
“Is that why you’re groping my ass, or do you just like doing that in a room filled with people?”
Madison grinned and slid her hand up Carson’s back. She’d gotten pretty fond of PDA.
“I just can’t help myself, can I?”
Carson shook her head in disbelief.
“You’re too much. You’ll probably reserve a seat beneath my desk indefinitely.”
Madison nodded.
“Of course. Someone’s gotta be the spontaneous one in the relationship.”
Carson scoffed.
“I’ve given you a hand job in the theatre. What more do you want from me?”
Madison wrapped her arms around Carson’s neck.
“Move in with me? Then we can have morning sex every day.”
Carson smiled.
“I’m not moving into your tiny apartment. You’ll have to move in with me.”
“I thought you’d never ask.”
Madison placed a kiss on Carson’s lips.
“I like to let you take the lead.”
Carson whispered and ran her hands down Madison’s sides.
“I love you, you know that, right?”
Carson kissed the tip of Madison’s nose and nodded.
“Yes, babe, ever since you confessed it all those weeks ago.”
“I really have to be the lead for everything, huh?”
“You like it that way.”
Madison smiled.
“I guess I do.”
“And I love you too, just in case you were wondering.”
“I know, babe. I know you do.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
C.P. Watson is a huge romantic at heart. You’d find her flirting with online strangers, since she’s too shy to approach actual women. Kidding… actually, she’s not… She tries to write stories that will hopefully touch her readers’ hearts, and give them those fuzzy butterflies in their stomachs.
Being a lesbian in a country where being a part of the LGBT+ is illegal, she finds it extremely difficult to be herself, and that’s why she writes. Her
stories contain the worlds that she wishes she could be in. Take note that no world is perfect, and everything she writes is purely fictional, but who doesn’t wish to be placed in a world that’s not their own?
