"LIAR. He wouldn't do that."
"Said he had a policy out on her and we'd get paid once he collected." She drops the gun and leans against the wall as he continues to talk. "He never paid."
"Maybe he didn't appreciate you raping her."
"He actually paid more to make sure we did, said he caught her fucking some guy and wanted her to pay." She raises her gun again and I wait for her to pull the trigger because honestly, I would. I would shoot him in his fucking mouth for agreeing to do such a heinous job.
"How did you sleep at night?" She's no longer yelling. Her tears muffle her words as she speaks with repulsion on her face.
"Shit went south fast on that deal. We've spent years trying to get away from that type of business."
"Why did you send your gorillas after me last night, then?"
"I didn't. I'm laid up in this chair."
"I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. THEY REMEMBERED ME. WHO ELSE WAS THERE THAT NIGHT? I WANT FUCKING NAMES."
"Memphis was there." He's one of the other original members of our club.
"Do you know why he would put out an order on her?"
"Ed is preparing to run for President next year. I can only assume it's a way to remind him of his roots."
"WHO ELSE?" I'm going to have to think about bringing her to trial. She's fucking terrifying.
"There were five men there that night besides me, Memphis, and the man Blade killed. Three of them have died since."
"So that leaves two. We know at least one was there at the attack last night." I do the math quickly, attempting to narrow it down.
"I want names. I need to know who I'm running from." She's irritated and I don't blame her.
"I'm not letting you run. I'll take care of you."
"I can't ask you to risk any more than you already have. There's been too many people killed and this is a fucking mess."
"Tex. I'm going to ask you to do something. Call Memphis over, but first let me get my guys in here to record it. He’ll talk to you."
"I can do that."
I turn to Six and plead with her to let him help bait Memphis into talking.
"He’ll pay for what he did to your mom, but first we need to work to make sure you're safe." She rightfully hesitates, looking at him once again before handing me the other gun. I get on the phone with Shadow instantly and have him on his way with everything we need.
I turn back around to hear Tex talking to Six.
"So you're Tori. I was told about you from a few of the guys. It looks like you've got my son all tied up. Can't say I blame him." She's not impressed. Tex isn't used to not winning over the ladies. I don't think he has a chance in hell at winning this battle.
"Shadow is on his way. Text Memphis in about an hour and have him come over. I'll hide our vehicles in your barn out back and we’ll be upstairs."
"I can do this, but get me some more fuckin Tootsies. How am I supposed to act normal if I don't have a cigarette or candy in my mouth?" I look over at the bullet hole in the table and decide it's something that needs covered. I set a magazine on it, grab the candy from the floor and set it in his lap. She picks up the glass and hands him another bowl from the kitchen.
"Where’s Marie?" Shit, that's all I need is her walking in here during all of this bullshit.
"She was here this morning. She’ll be back tomorrow." He begins reaching for his remote and turns on the TV. I guess this would be the normal scene.
Shadow arrives and secures the hidden camera quickly. We move upstairs before Memphis arrives and wait, watching the old man eat that mother fuckin candy.
I slide my hand over her back while we wait on the doorbell to ring. It finally does and she watches the screen intently, waiting for information she may never want to know.
"COME IN. Not sure why you're knocking. You know I can't fucking answer it for you."
"Oh horse shit. You're still a gripey old bastard." Memphis enters, already telling Tex off. They've always been like this.
"What’ve you been up to?" Tex starts quizzing right away.
"Oh same ole shit."
"Yeah? You know anything about that attack on two of our MC guys last night?"
"Sounds like shit got out of hand."
"Apparently it did. You know who called that order to pick up that Douglas girl?"
"I did." Six tenses up, and I grab her hand to keep her steady. She's ready to attack, but we continue to watch from upstairs.
"What's the purpose?" Tex is smooth about his conversation.
"That dick head Ed. He thinks he's gonna run for President when the only reason he has money is because he had his wife murdered."
"Don't you think the girl has suffered enough? Why'd you have the guys do that?"
"I told them to bring her to me alive. I figured if they roughed her up some, it would show him we mean business, but they had strict orders to keep her alive."
"Your thugs didn't make it."
"No. Blade got there and fucked the whole thing up. He seems to always step in when it comes to that girl."
"He does. Some of the guys say she's a special one for him." Tex unrolls another piece of candy.
"Shit. He would block me from making sure Ed can't run."
"Whatever happened to Ed paying us for that job?"
"Shit. That slimy fucker still owes half that money."
"What do you mean half?"
"He never paid the last payment."
"Well it's news to me that he paid the first."
"Ah, bullshit. You knew."
"I think I'd remember that kind of money."
"So, what's your plan with the girl?" I see Tex moving around in his recliner some. He reaches his arm down like he’s going to lower his legs.
"Just gonna remind him what can happen."
"No you're not. We’re done with that shit. I told you years ago that our MC isn't doing that kind of work."
"I'll step away from the club then."
"Blade is my son. He is the President now and he calls the shots. The MC will not tolerate violence on innocent women or children. You know, he changed my life."
"I know he did."
"He made me want to be a better person. He made me want to do good for people."
"Why are you talking in past tense?"
"Because it's all in the past." Tex lifts a gun and shoots Memphis. He drops instantly and before I can get down the stairs, I hear a second shot.
CHAPTER BREAK
Six
It's been three weeks since I found out the truth about my parents. The police arrested my dad after a few days of investigations. I don't know how to feel about Tex. He helped me solve it all, but he was involved in the whole thing to start with. I keep going back to his face that night. He told that guy to take me home. He couldn't be all bad if he tried to get me out of there. He put me in the path of Blade and for that reason I was safe.
Tex shot himself right after he shot Memphis. Watching more death made me know I had to walk away from everything I knew and that included Piper. I want her to know her brother and there's no doubt that he’ll make sure she's safe.
I moved back to Madison. I have a few extended family members here. It's not that they ever acknowledge me, but at least they're here. I can say I live near family.
Tonight is my first night behind the bar at Grizzly’s. It's a big fight night, so they've called us all in to cover.
The place fills up fast, everyone trying to save enough seats to be able to have their friends in when the fights start. I'm stuck with a rowdy group of guys on my side and I'm trying to get this one guy to be happy with what he ordered, but he’s just being impossible.
"Try again, sweet lips. This isn't right either."
"Sorry. You'll have to drink water or something from tap." There's no pleasing him.
"How about you? I bet if I licked this off your sweet lips, it’d taste a whole lot better." I walk past him, trying to get through the crowd, but he grabs my arm, pulling me against hi
s body.
"What do you want on tap? I'm not making you another drink."
"How about you suck my dick instead?" Before I have a chance to react, his head slams forward and into the table, knocking almost all the drinks onto the floor. The room goes quiet and the only thing I hear is my heart beating and Blade growling as he smashes the guy’s face even harder against the wood.
"Stop. BLADE. FUCKING STOP." I pull on his arm until he looks at me.
"Come here." I'm so fucking mad. I lead him out the side door, fuming pissed.
"WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO COME IN HERE AND SLAM HIS HEAD INTO A TABLE? I HAD IT HANDLED. I DON’T NEED YOU CAUSING ME TO LOSE THIS JOB TOO. GOD DAMNIT BLADE. WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?"
"Why are you here?"
"BECAUSE I FUCKING WORK HERE."
"You can work for me."
"NO I CAN’T. I'M SO FUCKING MAD AT YOU. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO FIND ME AND REMIND ME OF YOU. I’M TRYING LIKE HELL TO GET OVER YOU AND YOU CAN’T JUST POP UP AT MY JOB….." He slams his mouth over mine, shutting me up. His tight grip on my ass pulls me so close to him that I don't even try to fight him. He's aggressive and I hate to say that I've fucking missed him. I've missed this, but I just can't go back to that.
"Stop." I pull my mouth away from his. Those blue eyes pierce me and I'm looking for the perfect words to tell him I can't do this.
He begins to walk me forward until we’re against the brick wall. I'm facing him, looking into his eyes when he puts his hands on my breasts.
"Tell me to stop again and I will." I don't. He lowers the neck of my shirt, exposing my tits.
"Fucking beautiful. Tell me no to this Six and I'll stop." He lowers his face to the tips of my nipples, teasing me with one, while the night air teases the other.
"Tell me you don't want me and I'm gone." He slides his hands under my skirt, pulling my panties to the side as he slides a finger in. I start panting with my back and palms against the brick, allowing him full access to all the sensitive parts of my aching body.
"It's. It's not fair." He has me stuttering while he manipulates me through my clit.
"What isn't?"
"You don't play fair."
"You're right, I don't. I play to win." He unzips his jeans and rips the crotch out of my panties, before lifting me onto him. He holds me in midair and enters me, reminding me why I loved this so much with him. He begins to fuck me slow.
"I'm never walking away from you. If you don't come with me, I'll move my club here."
"I can't."
"Don't tell me no, Six. I don't think I can handle it. And plus… Piper gave me strict orders."
"What's that?"
"She told me to fuck you until you said yes."
"What if I never say yes?"
"She said to fuck harder." I smile. That's exactly something my crazy bitch friend would say. I miss her.
He rolls his hips forward and puts his hands over my shoulders, pushing me even further onto him.
"Oh fuck. Blade. What am I even saying yes to?"
"Move in with me. I have a new house on a mountain. It's almost finished. I've made sure it has the best security. You can't even buy the shit I had installed."
"I can't deal with all the craziness."
"It was only to protect you and now it's back to regular business. I promise you’ll love it. I owe you tuition anyway."
"Is it really fair to have this kind of conversation with your dick inside me?"
"I think it is."
"You would. You're prepared to live your life with someone who won't suck your dick?"
"Get down. I forgot about that." He stops moving me up and down on him and for a second I thought he was serious. His laughter echoes between the walls and I realize I've never heard him laugh that loud. It's going to be an interesting life with this man. He’ll be a challenge to live with, but so will I. He’ll fuck hard, but love harder. Just like I like it.

To my photographer, Golden. To my designer Dana. To my editor Kellie. To the cover model Dylan. Without the four of you this book would be complete shit! You make it all presentable and something worth reading! I love you for that!
And last but not least.... To my mom. For being my number one fan for my whole life. She's still by my side cheering me on!

Jake
It's just too damn easy. I mean, how is it I always find myself in these situations? Do I go for the blonde or pull in the brunette? Is the redhead really going to be up for such a scene or will it just be the other two with the blue haired pixie girl keeping me busy tonight? It's a bachelorette party. The bride was just picked up a few minutes ago. Guess her groom didn't approve of her getting a tattoo the night before the big day. I can't blame him. In fact, I was trying to figure out how to tell her no without making her upset.
I won't tattoo someone who is drunk. I've had to fix too many horrible tattoos that came from a night of making bad choices because of alcohol. Hell, I have a couple tattoos of my own that are now covered for the same fucking reason.
"Come on. I just want a vine under my tits. You can follow the line where my cleavage starts, then go all the way around and down my side."
"I can get you on the books for another day." I can't tell if she's just completely annoying or if she's just really drunk.
"Seriously? This was supposed to be a memorable night."
"Trish, come on. We can just plan a different day for that." Pixie girl starts to look at me with an understanding. She knows what can actually go down. She knows I'm not tattooing any of them tonight. Not to mention the fact that it's fucking two o'clock in the damn morning.
